Details On WWE Working On Two New Reality TV Shows

5

WWE officials are looking to add more reality TV series to their programming, expanding their partnership with Bunim-Murray Productions, according to PWInsider. Bunim-Murray currently produces Total Bellas and Total Divas on the E! network.

Two concepts for potential shows have been floated in the last several weeks. We’ve noted over the past few years how officials have wanted to bring back the Diva Search and one show would be some sort of combination of the Diva Search, Tough Enough and the competition era of WWE NXT, seeking out a new female WWE Superstar. The idea pitched has competitors going on the road with WWE on a tour bus. There would be weekly competitions with eliminations and the winner of the show would receive a WWE contract.

The second concept would be similar to Total Bellas but would focus on Maryse and WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, who are expecting their first child together in early 2018. The series would focus on their work with WWE, their personal lives and life as a married couple in Hollywood. The show would also feature Dolph Ziggler, who is best friends with the couple in real life.

Both concepts are being developed as shows that would be sold to broadcast TV partners, not as WWE Network exclusives. No word yet on when production might begin as neither concept is 100% confirmed but these are the projects that have recently been worked on.

Kevin Owens Explains Why He Left International WWE Tour Early

7

Kevin Owens has explained why he left WWE’s tour of South America early.

WWE announced Friday morning that Owens left Buenos Aires earlier in the day and would not appear at the remaining live events in Argentina and Chile this weekend due to “personal reasons.”

Though Owens did perform at Luna Park for Thursday night’s live event in Buenos Aires, he left before the remaining live event dates scheduled for Friday in Argentina, and at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, tonight and Sunday.

Owens addressed his absence in a tweet on Saturday afternoon.

He wrote, “I’m not sick. I’m not hurt. My family needed me home. Thank you to @WWE & the fans in Argentina & Chile for their support and understanding.”

https://twitter.com/FightOwensFight/status/921802732159332353

At Thursday’s show, Owens lost to United States Champion Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger in a Triple Threat Match — Corbin retained the United States Championship.

Petey Williams On His Decision To Return To Impact Wrestling, Retiring From Pro Wrestling In 2014, More

6

Petey Williams recently appeared on Interactive Wrestling Radio to talk about various topics. Here are the highlights:

The reason he decided to return to Impact Wrestling:

“Scott D’Amore just asked me to do that. Kind of! That’s the short story of it. The long story is Scott D’Amore called me because he said my name had been coming up a lot in creative meetings. I said, “I’m just not interested in wrestling again. I’m totally content with my life. I love my family, my wife, my kids, all that kind of stuff.” Scott D’Amore and i are very close. He’s the guy that trained me to be a wrestler and got me into TNA, Impact Wrestling now, and all that kind of stuff. As we were talking, he was like, “How are your kids doing? I thought maybe your kids might want to see what Daddy used to do.” Kind of tugging at my heart strings. (laughs) I actually brought up the question to my wife. I said, “Hey, listen to this ridiculous conversation I just had with Scott D’Amore.” I told her about it rolling my eyes as I go along. She just looked at me dead in the eyes and said, “Do it!” She was a big supporter of me coming back. If she hadn’t had supported it, I would have probably just been content with not wrestling again. But, here we are!”

The status of Impact Wrestling:

“I think it is on the up-swing. Here’s why it is on the up-swing. If you look at right before we got on Spike TV, in 2004, we were FOX Sports Net. Then, in 2005, our contract expired with Fox Sports Net and we were finding a new network, shopping the show, seeing where we were going to go. During that time, our show (Impact) was kind of like, on the Internet until we got our Spike TV deal. The guy writing the show, at that time, was Scott D’Amore and I felt like it was some of the best wrestling writing we ever had on the show. Once we got onto Spike TV, new writers came in and then you had the Vince Russos, whoevers and whatnots. It kind of got saturated and everyone’s different ideas… Whatever! Now it’s back and one of the head writers, one of the guys on the creative team, is Scott D’Amore! He writes what the fans want to see. He doesn’t try to make it super-intricate in detail and hard to follow. Very basic. But, it is the very basic emotions all the wrestling fans feed off of. Scott D’Amore gives that to them. I think that’s good wrestling television. That’s why I think it is on the up-swing. That was part of me coming back too! He told me all the guys on the creative team and these were guys I thought wrote good TV in 2004 and 2005 when we were on our first up-swing.”

Why he retired suddenly in 2014:

“I did everything I wanted to do in wrestling. I kind of escaped the wrestling business without any long term super life threatening injuries. I said, “I’m still young, I can still do whatever I want to do.” I only had one kid at the time. I retired pretty much 1 month before my 2nd daughter was born. I said, “I’m good. I made my mark on wrestling.”

Candice LeRae Talks About Competing In Mae Young Classic Tournament, Possibly Signing With WWE, More

10

WWE Mae Young Classic participant Candice LeRae recently appeared on Ring Rust Radio to talk about various topics. Here are the highlights.

Participating in the Mae Young Classic:

“It’s still really insane to me that it even happened. I kind of feel like I did after I got married where I was seeing my name, like this new last name and I realize that I’m married and thinking did this really happen and even though I had all the pictures and stuff. Same thing with the Mae Young Classic. I got all the WWE.com accounts tweeting at me and all this stuff and I just don’t even believe this is actually happening. My husband came home from work the one day and said, “Alright, you ready to watch it? It’s airing tonight.” I said no way this is actually all real. Still to this day it’s insane to me because it is something that I’ve wanted since I was a six-year-old little kid. It’s super cool and I felt like I’ve been preparing my entire career for that. That’s what everything was for so I could have that opportunity. I used to think I got into wrestling at the wrong time and it was never going to happen for me because I was a little different than some of the other girls that I was around when I first started wrestling. I’m starting to realize everything happened as it was supposed to and I got into it at exactly the right time so I am very thankful.”

Possibly signing with WWE on a full-time basis:

“I would love to end up there. I’ve turned down other opportunities just in hopes of the opportunity to come to the WWE someday. Obviously, my dream has always been to wrestle for WWE and have a full-time contract there so I kind of felt if I was going to go anywhere else or do anything else I was cheating myself out of my lifelong dream. It is still to this day my ultimate goal so I’m being very hopeful and taking it day by day and crossing my fingers.”

Allie On Jeff Jarrett No Longer Being With Impact Wrestling, Working With Gail Kim

3

Allie recently spoke with Sportskeeda to talk about various topics. Here are the highlights:

Jeff Jarrett no longer being with Impact Wrestling:

“Well, I had a really good relationship with Jeff. I knew Jeff when Braxton [Sutter] and I actually worked for Global Force in the UK. We did a tour, and we also did some of his shows around the US, so both Karen and Jeff we knew pretty well. They’ve really been great with us. I’ve had a great relationship with both of them for a while. We haven’t been back at TV, so it’s gonna be different without them, but I know the company is in really good hands, so I’m not too worried.”

Working with Gail Kim:

“Well, I’ve looked up to Gail since before I started wrestling and I actually heard so many stories about her at the school I was training in — Squared Circle Training – Gail also did some training at that school. So, I heard so much about Gail, how athletic she was, how amazing she was. Then to be able to debut for Impact Wrestling against Gail, and now flash forward to Bound For Glory to be able to share the ring with her during her retirement year, it’s kinda like mind-blowing for me and it’s an honor to share the ring with her.”

Update On Medical Outbreak Affecting WWE Superstars

59

As we’ve previously reported, a drastic medical outbreak in the WWE locker room is forcing the company to make huge changes to this weekend’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV). Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle has replaced Roman Reigns in the event’s main event; as he’ll team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Braun Strowman, and Kane.

Also on the card was a scheduled bout between Bray Wyatt and Finn Balor. Wyatt was also affected by the illness and has been replaced by SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles. Per a report from Wrestling Inc., the illness affecting the WWE locker room is the mumps. WINC. describes the illness as the following:

“Mumps is an airborne virus that can be spread by saliva or utensils – even plates or cups – with an infected person. It can also be spread by coughing or sneezing. Symptoms usually take 16-18 days to appear. It then usually takes several days to a week to disappear.”

WWE had been testing RAW talents for Viral Meningitis, however, it was later discovered that the illness was the mumps. No word yet on if more changes will be made to TLC since the outbreak. There is also no news on whether or not SmackDown Live talent is being tested as well. More to come…..

Kurt Angle Added To TLC Main Event, Styles Replacing Wyatt Against Balor

78

The WWE world is in for a massive shock. Due to medical issues the WWE has been forced to shuffle the Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV) card. Roman Reigns will now be replaced by Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle; teaming up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on the team of The Miz, The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), Braun Strowman, and Kane. SmackDown Live’s AJ Styles will replace Bray Wyatt to take on Finn Balor. Here’s the official announcement from WWE:

“Due to medical issues impacting two WWE Superstars scheduled to appear at WWE TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs, streaming live on WWE Network this Sunday, the special event will now feature Kurt Angle competing in a WWE ring for the first time in more than 11 years, as he replaces Roman Reigns. In addition, former WWE Champion AJ Styles will replace Bray Wyatt and face “The Demon” Finn Bálor.

“The showdown between “The Demon” and Styles is one that the WWE Universe has been wanting for a long time and promises to be one of the most exciting matches of 2017.”

We previously reported that the WWE locker room has been dealing with Viral Meningitis, affecting Superstars such as Bo Dallas and Bray Wyatt. We’ll keep you updated as more news becomes available.

Jim Ross Believes Conor McGregor Will One Day Be In WWE

3

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross was recently a guest on The Herd with Collin Cowherd to promote his new book “Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling.” Ross talked about a variety of professional wrestling topics, but one of the more interesting subjects was the speculation as to whether or not UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor would ever appear in WWE. Ross admitted that he believes “The Notorious One” will one day make an appearance in WWE, but it will simply be a one-off deal:

“I know that he’s an amazing performer and an amazing talent. I have great respect for the UFC, everything they do, and him,” Ross said. “There’s no way you can convince me that Conor McGregor will not earn a massive check from Vince McMahon someday in the future.

“It will not be a career deal, it would be a one-off special occasion, massive promotion, I would suggest maybe at a WrestleMania somewhere down the road. But the attraction is there, the marketing is there, the money is there, so why not make it happen? So I think Conor is guaranteed for that.

“And I also think Conor’s not done in the octagon either, I think he’s a competitor. He likes to prove that he’s the alpha-male.”

Bullet Club Member Says He’ll Never Watch WWE Again

6

Bullet Club member Adam Page recently did an interview with The Roman Show to talk about several professional wrestling topics. Page discussed former Bullet Club member’s treatment in WWE today, WWE releasing Jimmy Jacobs, and when he started training to be a professional wrestler. You can check out the highlights here below:

His thoughts on the treatment of former Bullet Club members such as Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, and Finn Balor in WWE:

“I really don’t know. I don’t watch it (WWE). They kidnapped me and forced me to watch their stuff. I didn’t watch it before and when I sat and watched that stuff, I’ll never watch it again. To be honest, I really don’t know.”

WWE releasing Jimmy Jacobs after taking a picture with The Bullet Club:

“I don’t care too much about what they do or say. Jimmy is a good friend of mine. He has been for a long time. He had a lot of impact in my career. If I were to see him I’d welcome him with open arms.”

When he started training to be a professional wrestler:

“I started training when I was 15 with a couple of guys. I wrestled at 16 and about 18 I went to jimmy Valiant’s camp in Virginia that’s been my full education, but all these years of wrestling has been the education.”

Kevin Owens Pulled From This Weekend’s WWE Live Events

6

The WWE has announced that Kevin Owens has been pulled from the remaining SmackDown house shows this weekend in Chile and Argentina due to personal issues. Owens competed at last night’s (Thurs. October 19, 2017) live event from Buenos Aires where he lost to WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger in a Triple Threat match:

“Kevin Owens left Buenos Aires today and will not appear at the remaining Live Events in Argentina and Chile this weekend, WWE.com has learned.

“Though Owens did perform at Luna Park for Thursday night’s Live Event in Buenos Aires, he has left before the remaining Live Event dates scheduled in Argentina for tonight, and at the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile, this Friday and Saturday, due to personal reasons.”

Owens left Buenos Aires earlier today. We also previously reported that AJ Styles missed last night’s event due to a stomach illness but is still advertised for tonight’s event in Buenos Aires.

Ric Flair On How He Influenced The Rock’s Persona

4

WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair recently did an interview with NBC Sports Radio to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. “The Nature Boy” talked about his promo skills and the late-great Dusty Rhodes being the first to give him some competition, how he influenced the personas of The Rock and many other WWE Superstars, and who deserves credit for the idea of The Four Horsemen. Here are the highlights:

His promo skills and Dusty Rhodes giving him some competition:

“That all came off the top of my head. We’d be out in Atlanta [Georgia] all night long, back at the hotel around 5 a.m., change clothes, and go to the studio and start taping at 9 o’clock. That’s just a lot of coffee and a lot of liking what I was doing for a living, being surrounded by guys like Dusty and Arn [Anderson] and guys that had so much influence on me. And we went out there and we competed with each other. Does that make sense? If Dusty was out there first, I knew I had to follow that. If I was on first and Dusty had to follow me. It was very competitive.”

How he influenced The Rock’s persona and many other WWE Superstars:

“I think he’ll admit that a lot of me was him,” Flair said. “I don’t know how many Rolex watches I’ve sold for Rolex from guys buying their first Rolex. I can remember Randy Orton got his first big check with Evolution. The first thing he bought was a new tricked out diamond encrusted Rolex, so I know that I’ve done some damage. I think a lot of guys have become more wardrobe-conscious. Does that make sense? Looking the part all of the time as opposed to when you’re in the gym. Every time you walk into a door, you want everybody in the joint to look at you. That’s just what it is.”

Arn Anderson deserving all the credit for the Four Horsemen idea:

“Actually, the idea for The Four Horsemen came from Arn, just something he said one day about The Four Horsemen. I can’t remember the terminology, but he put up [the] four [hand gesture] and Arn did it and we started doing it each week and within a month it caught on and it was bigger than ever. It was huge, so I give all that to Arn. He took the ball and he ran with it.”

Ted DiBiase Explains Why He Advised His Sons Against Professional Wrestling Careers

10

WWE Hall Of Famer Ted DiBiase recently did an interview with Fan Buzz to promote his new documentary, The Price of Fame.”  “The Million Dollar Man” discussed the finest moment of his career, his “Million Dollar Man” laugh, Vince McMahon hearing it, the difficulties of being on the road as a wrestler, and so much more. You can check out the highlights below:

The finest moment of his career:

“I had been in the wrestling industry for 12 years. It was one thing to have one match (at WrestleMania IV), but I had three. The tournament had culminated with me wrestling Randy Savage. The other unique thing about it, it was the first time we had ever been in the ring together. We had never had a match before that night. It set the stage.”

His “Million Dollar Man” laugh:

“I’m doing an interview and I just happened to have ended the interview with a laugh like that. It’s an exaggeration, an extreme exaggeration of the way I really laugh.”

Vince hearing the laugh and sticking his head in the room:

“That’s it. ‘That’s the Million Dollar Man and I want to hear that laugh on every interview [McMahon said].'”

The difficulties of being on the road as a wrestler:

“That’s what the documentary is about. The ‘Price of Fame.’ You know what you’re getting into when you get in. You hear stories and you realize you’re going to be spending a lot of time away from home. The reality of it doesn’t set in until you’re in it. I’ve told people, on the outside, you watch guys walk into an arena and the crowd is cheering and yelling your name. What a thrill. But the game is over, show is over and you go back to the hotel and have dinner and go to your hotel room.

“You have a TV and four walls. Your wife and children are not there — whether they’re 20 miles away or 2,000 miles away. The road can become a very lonely place. It’s not what it’s cracked up to be. Of course, it’s what you make it. I tell young guys, you need to build accountability into your life to avoid the pitfalls.”

His sons being in wrestling:

“Obviously, this is why I didn’t encourage any of my boys to be wrestlers. At the end of the day, they know my story. Teddy made it and was doing really well. He figured it out. That’s why when his contract was up, he didn’t re-sign. He said ‘it’s too much.'”

Managing Stone Cold Steve Austin:

“I don’t think anybody could have predicted it back then. I saw his talent, and I told him that. Some of the producers at the time were encouraging him to do more. I said, no. I said, ‘you come across very believable. Sometimes less is more. You keep doing what you’re doing. It may take you a little longer to get over. But once you’re over, you’re over. And you can do anything you want.'”

AJ Styles Misses WWE Live Event With Illness, Baron Corbin On How Puerto Rico Hurricane Affected Him

1

– Per a report from Solo Wrestling, AJ Styles missed WWE’s live event in Argentina due to a stomach illness. He is, however, expected to wrestle at tonight’s (Fri. October 20, 2017) live event in Buenos Aires.

– WWE Superstar Baron Corbin was recently interviewed by News 1330 in Abbotsford, BC where they discussed Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Corbin noted that his wife is Puerto Rican and her entire family (except her parents) live on the islands. “The Lone Wolf” revealed that they have flown in her grandmothers and are hoping to fly in the rest of her family soon:

“It took us almost three weeks to get in touch with her grandfather,” Corbin said. “He lives up in the woods so there was no cell service, no power. Her aunt couldn’t drive up there because the roads were all blocked.

“That’s the hard part of this job… sometimes you’re away from home when there’s real things are going on. It’s just a very difficult situation. We flew her grandmothers in on Wednesday — so that was a relief to have them here with us and hopefully we’re getting the rest of her family out of there this week.”

Edge Isn’t Sure How Far Shinsuke Nakamura Can Get In WWE

6

WWE Hall Of Famer Edge recently took to his podcast with former Tag Team Championship partner Christian, E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. One topic of discussion was the success of former New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) star Shinsuke Nakamura in WWE. Edge expressed concern with Nakamura, questioning how far the Japanese star could go in the WWE:

”It’s strange with Nakamura, man, because, like you’ve said, we’ve seen his matches with AJ [Styles] in New Japan [Pro-Wrestling] and everything. With Randy [Orton], I’ve seen it. And with Sami [Zayn], I’ve seen it. But that match too, man, I really loved that match and after that, it’s like, anything else is going to be tough to live up to.”

”I mean, maybe [Nakamura will ‘get there’]. Maybe. Who knows? It’s a different beast entirely. People can blame it on booking, this, that, or the other. I don’t know. I think it’s weird. It just goes to show how different places to wrestle are completely different environments.”

Jack Swagger Goes Off On WWE (Video)

14

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Jack Swagger recently took to social media to post a video in which he calls out WWE for running shows in conjunction with other indie shows in the area. Check it out:

“I am not here to talk sh*t but I’m sorry I am taking this personally. To me this is a slap in the face. Typical WWE saying they are a bigger company and they can come into your market and push you around and run a show whenever they like. You want to compete? Fine.

“Real wrestling fans, indie fans, it is time to stand up for independent wrestling. On November 28th come to The Wrestling Revolver and help us outdraw the NXT show. Help Revolver and all the other promotions in the same situation. Stand up for the indies!”

Viral Meningitis Could ‘Drastically’ Impact Sunday’s TLC Card

12

It was reported earlier this week that Bo Dallas has been suffering from Viral Meningitis as of late, and his brother Bray Wyatt could be suffering from the same illness. This is why the pair have been off WWE TV for the past few weeks.

Justin LaBar notes that JoJo has also been affected by the outbreak.

Per a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Wyatt is in fact ill and his status for this weekend’s Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV) is unknown.

Wyatt is scheduled to take on Finn Balor at the event for a match between “Sister Abigail” and “The Demon King.”

Update On Enzo Amore’s Rumored Backstage Heat

17

It was previously reported several weeks back that the now-former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore’s backstage heat has gotten so bad that he has been kicked out of the WWE locker room and isn’t allowed to be around the boys. Per a report from WrestleVotes, who broke the news about Neville and Nia Jax’s WWE disputes, that remains the same.

As of last week Enzo is still not allowed in the locker room, and his heat with the boys is being described as ‘still real.’ “Regarding Enzo, I’m hearing the backstage heat is still real. As of last week, he was still not allowed in the locker room”:

Discussion: How do you feel about Amore being kicked out of the locker room? Are the boys taking things too far? And how much longer do you expect Enzo’s pro wrestling career to last?

Taryn Terrell Done With Impact Wrestling

11

On this week’s episode of Impact Wrestling, it was announced that Taryn Terrell has been pulled from Bound For Glory, where she was scheduled to be part of the Fatal 4-Way Knockouts Championship match. Sienna will now the Knockouts Title in a Triple Threat match against Allie and Gail Kim.

The reason given for Terrell’s absence is that she is medically cleared to compete after being slapped by Gail Kim last week. On Friday morning, Impact revealed that Terrell is no longer with the company and wished her well in the next chapter of her career.

Taryn returned to Impact Wrestling over the summer during the company’s Destination X special where she attacked Gail Kim during her Knockouts Title match against Sienna, costing her the match.

The news of Taryn Terrell leaving Impact Wrestling follows the recent departures of Jim Cornette, Davey Richards, Robbie E, Low Ki, Da Pope, Tyrus, Al Snow and Brandi Rhodes.

Nia Jax Expected Back For WWE’s Upcoming European Tour

3

Nia Jax is expected back on the road with WWE for the company’s upcoming European tour, which kicks off on November 1st from Glasgow, Scotland.

According to an update from Dave Meltzer, she is taking time off to rest since she is not part of any major storylines. He said the report by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated claiming Nia Jax was upset with her pay was untrue.

On Thursday, The New York Post published an interview with Alexa Bliss, who said Nia Jax will “absolutely” be back and spoke in-depth about the demands of WWE’s travel schedule. You can check out here comments below:

WWE Reviving King Of The Ring For New UK Series?

7

WWE continues to develop the long-rumored project featuring talent exclusively from the United Kingdom. PWInsider published a detailed report about what’s currently in the works. Here are the highlights:

– The working title for the project is “WWE King of the Ring.” It’s unknown at this time whether or not the UK series would feature the tournament format that KOTR has been known for previously.

– While the project was initially conceptualized as a WWE Network series, WWE has been in talks with several UK TV broadcasters, including ITV.

– The show would be produced in the UK and would feature all British athletes.

  • 3 UK Independent Stars To Look Out For

Back in August, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that WWE was looking to launch the series by the end of the year. At one point, there were plans to hold the first tapings back in June, which never materialized. With this latest update from PWInsider, it would appear that securing a UK TV deal is the biggest factor dictating the timeframe of the series.

Pete Dunne is the reigning WWE UK Champion and WWE has been using some of the UK talent in NXT while they work on getting the UK series off the ground. Other UK performers on the roster include Tyler Bate, Trent Seven, Wolfgang and Mark Andrews

WWE’s strong push in to the UK market was initially seen as a response to ITV airing new episodes of a World of Sport wrestling series, but that project appears to be on hold indefinitely.

WWE COO Triple H appeared on The World According To Wrestling podcast last month and admitted that ITV working on a World of Sport revival affected WWE’s plans for a UK series. ITV aired a World of Sport special last December.

“Did it change our timing a little bit because of when they positioned their show? Yeah, but we are talking by maybe months or something not speeding up the process in terms of getting it done. We’ve been working on this for a long time. Any other show aside, if they are successful I’m happy for them. And, at the end of the day, it all helps the industry so we just do what we do. And I think we do it better than anyone else on the planet.”

World of Sport announced a partnership with Anthem last March to bring the series back to ITV, with an initial commission for a 10-part series. Tapings were scheduled for May, but eventually were cancelled with no further announcements.

Alexa Bliss Comments On Nia Jax Taking Time Off From WWE

RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss spoke to the New York Post this week about Nia Jax taking time off from WWE. Amid reports that Jax has been frustrated with her character’s booking and financial compensation, Bliss says she’s spoken to Nia about her situation at length and cited WWE’s demanding schedule as a possible reason for her absence.

“We have talked about it a lot,” said Bliss. “Whatever she is going through, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a leave of absence. She’s taking some time off because our schedule it very grueling.”

She continued, “It’s very, very demanding. There are times where you are run down and your body can’t do it anymore and you get sick or you get injured from it and you get tired.”

Bliss acknowledged that the constant travel takes a toll on everyone and understands the burnout factor. Sticking with the narrative that Nia Jax’s leave of absence is related to simply ‘needing a break,’ she said,

“So, I feel like everyone needs a reset every once in a while. In NXT I took a few resets and it was never like public knowledge, but we all need them. We all take them once in a while. I am happy when she comes back. I feel like everyone needs that refresher week or refresher moment.”

As for Nia Jax’s future with WWE, Alexa Bliss is convinced everything will be resolved. “Absolutely, no doubt in my mind.”
