Championship Dark Main Event On Raw, Kalisto Dedicates Title Victory To WWE Legends

1

-As seen on this week’s episode of Raw last night, Kalisto picked up a surprising victory over Enzo Amore in a lumberjack match to become the new Cruiserweight Champion.

After the show, the new title holder made a tweet as seen below in which he dedicated his victory to Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio:

– After the show went off air on Raw last night, the dark main event saw the Raw Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose defending their titles against The Bar Sheamus and Cesaro.

The match was comparatively short as it wrapped up after only 6 minutes when Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds on Cesaro and pinned him to retain the tag titles.

After the match, the duo cut a promo and thanked the fans of Indianapolis for the creation of, and the reception for The Shield. Below are some of the photos from the Dark Main event:

Goldberg On The Goldbergs, Wyatt Misses Shows, Emma Sick Of Hearing About Asuka

6

– Bill Goldberg will be appearing on the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs this coming Wednesday night. He’ll play the brother of character Coach Mellor. Adam Goldberg, creator of the show, is a longtime pro wrestling fan and did a pro wrestling episode earlier in the show’s run.

Here’s the synopsis for this week’s “Goldberg on The Goldbergs” episode:

“When coach Mellor tells Beverly about his strained relationship with his brother, she intervenes, prompting a face-off; Geoff and Erica struggle with their long-distance relationship.”

– Bray Wyatt did not compete at this weekend’s WWE live events, but we haven’t heard anything about him being injured. It’s worth noting that Wyatt’s brother Bo Dallas was not at RAW last night. Michael Cole noted on commentary that Dallas was under the weather. Wyatt appeared on last night’s RAW for the Sister Abigail segment but it may have been pre-taped.

– On Monday’s RAW, Emma won a Fatal 5 Way match to earn the right to face Asuka at TLC in Asuka’s main roster debut. Lucky her! She spoke to Mike Rome backstage at RAW and said she’s sick of hearing about Asuka and seeing the promo videos hyping her debut. Emma says she’s the one who started the women’s revolution and she’s the one we should be talking about every single week.

Cage Match On RAW Next Week, Enzo Responds To Losing His Title

3

– Following The Shield’s triple powerbomb through a table on Braun Strowman, Roman Reigns will battle the big man next week on RAW inside a steel cage. This will be the final RAW before TLC and takes place from Portland, OR.

With The Shield officially united, they will face Strowman, The Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match at TLC on 10/22.

WWE.com is running a poll asking fans who poses the biggest threat to The Shield at TLC. of this writing, 85% voted for Braun Strowman while 11% voted for WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz, 3% for Cesaro and 1% for Sheamus.

– After losing the Cruiserweight Championship to Kalisto in the main event of RAW, Enzo Amore was interviewed for RAW Fallout blames the loss on the Lumberjacks at ringside. Enzo claims he was outnumbered and says the other cruiserweights want him gone. Unfortunately for them, he’s not going anywhere because you’re defeated when you quit, not when you lose and he’s not quitting anything because he’s “bout it, bout it.”

SmackDown & 205 Live Previews: Why Sami, Why? Styles vs. Corbin Rematch

1

Tonight’s WWE SmackDown and WWE 205 Live will take place from the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

SmackDown will feature fallout from Sunday’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. The big issues coming out of the show are Sami Zayn helping Kevin Owens defeat Shane McMahon inside HIAC, Jinder Mahal retaining the WWE Championship and The Usos capturing the SmackDown tag titles.

Confirmed for tonight’s SmackDown is AJ Styles’ rematch from new WWE United States Champion Baron Corbin and Carmella vs. Becky Lynch.

The top match advertised for the show will be Baron Corbin defending his newly won United States Championship against AJ Styles. Corbin pinned Tye Dillinger in the triple threat match to win the belt – can he handle AJ Styles one-on-one?

Also tonight, Becky Lynch will square off against Carmella.

With Sami Zayn now aligned with Kevin Owens, how will Zayn explain his actions? What are Owens and Zayn after?

205 Live will feature TJP vs. Rich Swann plus new WWE Cruiserweight Champion Kalisto.

Kevin Owens On His Relationship With Sami Zayn, Zayn’s Limited TV Role

3

Before the shocking events of Hell In a Cell PPV where Sami Zayn unexpectedly helped Kevin Owens in winning his match against Shane McMahon, Owens had an interview with In Your Corner Podcast. Below are some of the highlights from his interview:

On his matches with Sami Zayn:

“Sometimes you have chemistry with people that is undeniable, and it just works, and sometimes you have matches with someone you think you are going to have good chemistry with, and it just doesn’t turn out that way. Sami and I have known each other for well over 15 years, so being here is the latter stage for us. We’ve been friends, we’ve been enemies, and have been at each other’s throats, and have been at each other’s side, we have done it all. We have been in every match possible. We’ve put each other through a lot, but also have been there for each other, so I think that translates to good chemistry at times.”

On his relationship with Zayn:

“I would say that we are more like brothers than we are friends because we don’t choose our relatives, or who your brother and sister are; you don’t choose your family. You are born into your family, and in this case we weren’t born into each other’s family, but from the start of our careers when we started wrestling, on the Independent scene in the United States, or even back home in Canada, once we started to get our names out there and become more recognized, people just started booking us together all the time, which wasn’t our choice, they just paired up the ‘guy in the mask’ and Kevin Steen together and it just snowballed from there into where we are now.”

The former NXT Champion’s limited position on SmackDown Live:

“I don’t think anybody deserves anything than what they already have because I believe everyone gets what they deserve. I’m not saying Sami doesn’t deserve a bigger role; I’m saying Sami will get a bigger role eventually. I think everyone deserves a bigger role, but I don’t think that is being taken away from them on purpose, and I believe everyone will get what they will get, which is what I believe. Some will tend to disagree with me on that, but that is okay, I’m not one to worry about popularity with my co-workers, I’m just who I am and that’s just how it is. Sami will get his on his time; you will eventually get to where you belong if you believe you deserve to be there.”

The Shield Is Officially Back

The Miz came down to the ring and announced that he was giving out some Mizzie awards tonight. Curtis Axel was awarded a Mizzie of perseverance and the crowd chanted “you deserve it!”. Axel dedicated the Mizzie to Bo Dallas. The Mizzie for best supporting actors went to Sheamus and Cesaro.

Sheamus and Cesaro made their way to the ring to accept the award. Sheamus and Cesaro thanked Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose for making this all possible. The Miz bragged about their attack on Roman Reigns. The Miz then gave himself a Mizzie and dedicated it to his unborn child and to every future child out there that needs a new role model.

Roman Reigns came down to the entrance ramp and told The Miz to shut up. Reigns added that he will give them one chance to get out of his ring. The Miz stated that the rumors of The Shield reuniting are just like Reigns, they are nothing but hype. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins then joined Reigns on the entrance ramp. The Shield made their way to the ring and beatdown everyone besides The Miz who rolled out of the ring to avoid them. Rollins and Reigns chased after The Miz outside the ring. Miz got back into the ring and Ambrose planted him with Dirty Deeds. The Shield then hit the Triple Powerbomb and posed in the ring.

The Miz was shown later during RAW receiving medical attention backstage. RAW GM Kurt Angle showed up and announced the main event for WWE TLC 2017. The Shield will face The Miz, Sheamus & Cesaro in a TLC.

The crowd absolutely loved seeing The Shield reunion. I haven’t heard a pop like that in a long time. I’m glad that The Shield is back, it makes RAW interesting while we wait for Brock Lesnar to come back and defend his Universal Championship.

The Cruiserweights Main Evented RAW Again

Enzo cut a promo tonight about RAW GM Kurt Angle giving Kalisto a shot at the Cruiserweight Championship at WWE TLC. Enzo disagreed and called out RAW GM Kurt Angle. Kurt made his way to the ring to a great reaction from the crowd. Enzo pulled out his no-contract clause and said that Kalisto broke the clause. Angle said that he signed Kalisto to the Cruiserweight division after the clause was created, thus it didn’t apply to Kalisto.

Enzo was still pissed off and said that Kurt Angle should be trying to make him happy. Angle said that the match will happen tonight instead of at WWE TLC. Enzo agreed to defend his title tonight only if was the main event. Kurt Angle agreed but added a stipulation. Angle said that the entire Cruiserweight division will be surrounding the ring and that the match will be a Lumberjack Match.

The TLC Main Event Is Set

Matt connected with a Clothesline and a couple of right hands early but they had very little effect on Strowman. Matt went for the Side Effect but Strowman blocked it and hurled him across the ring. Strowman then knocked Hardy out of the ring as RAW went to a break. When RAW returned, Matt Hardy connected with a Dropkick and then a Twist of Fate. Hardy went for the cover but Strowman kicked out at one.

Strowman then Chokeslammed Hardy and followed it up with the Running Powerslam for the pinfall victory. Strowman carried Matt Hardy up the entrance ramp and The Shield emerged on the entrance ramp. Strowman charged at Reigns but Rollins and Ambrose attacked Braun. Reigns then hit a massive Spear and The Shield stomped on Strowman. The Shield cleared off the announce table and hit the Triple Powerbomb on Strowman through the table.

It was later announced that Braun Strowman will be joining The Miz and The Bar against The Shield in the WWE TLC main event. It was also announced that Braun Strowman will be facing Roman Reigns in a Steel Cage Match next week on RAW.

There Was A “Biscuit Butt!” Chant

Mickie James came down to the ring to cut a promo on Alexa Bliss. Mickie said that she was going to take the RAW Women’s Championship from Alexa Bliss at WWE TLC 2017. RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss then came down to the ring and showed a video package to honor Mickie James.

The video was done in the style of a project from the 1950s and had old-timey narration. Bliss laughed at Mickie after the video ended and called her “grandma”. Mickie James said that she is hard of hearing at her age and told Alexa Bliss to bring her “biscuit butt” down to the ring to say it to her face. Alexa refused and Mickie chased her and attacked her on the entrance ramp. Mickie got in a few shots before Alexa retreated. As Alexa was retreating up the entrance ramp, the crowd started a loud “biscuit butt!” chant.

Sister Abigail Was Revealed – And It Was Terrible

Balor came down to the ring and cut the same promo you’ve heard several times by now. He said that Balor Club is here in Indianapolis and said that he was not afraid of Bray Wyatt. Bray then appeared on the screen and said that Bray he should fear Sister Abigail. Bray’s face then changed and he was speaking as Sister Abigail.

Sister Abigail claimed that Bray wouldn’t hurt a fly and that she controls everything. Sister Abigail brought up “The Demon King” and said that she is worth than anything Balor has ever read in his Irish mythology books. Bray then returned, laughed and told Balor to run.

I almost feel bad for Bray Wyatt at this point. This was just terrible. It wasn’t scary or interesting at all, it just looked cheap. It reminded me of a direct-to-video horror movie and I felt embarrassed for Wyatt. This feud has been terrible and it is somehow getting worse every week.

Balor was interviewed by Renee Young later during the show. Balor said that after hearing Sister Abigail he is afraid that Bray Wyatt has released something awful. Balor stated that he now knows what he has to do.

Emma Will Face Asuka At WWE TLC

Screen Shot 2017 10 09 at 10.42.07 PM

Emma defeated Bayley, Dana Brooke, Alicia Fox and Sasha Banks in a Fatal 5-Way Elimination Match to earn the right to face Asuka at WWE TLC 2017. Dana Brooke was the first Superstar eliminated via the Bayley to Belly. Bayley was the next eliminated and RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Alicia Fox and Emma had teamed up to beatdown Sasha Banks. Emma tried to roll-up Fox while she was focused on Banks but Alicia kicked out. Fox beatdown Emma for a minute and then Sasha Banks got back in the action. Sasha locked Fox in the Bank Statement and Alicia tapped out. Emma quickly rolled up Sasha for the victory as Banks was breaking the hold. Emma will now face Asuka when she makes her main roster debut at WWE TLC 2017 in 13 days.

Kalisto Is The New Cruiserweight Champion

Screen Shot 2017 10 09 at 11.09.57 PM

Enzo cut his second promo of the night on the Cruiserweights that were standing ringside for the Lumberjack Match. He once again didn’t poke fun at Tozawa because Akira said that he liked Enzo on Twitter. Kalisto controlled the match early and Enzo tried to regroup outside the ring. The lumberjacks threw Enzo back in the ring and Kalisto applied a Chin Lock as RAW went to a break.

When RAW returned, Enzo was in control of the match. Kalisto quickly battled back and connected with a Crossbody for a two count. Kalisto Clotheslined Enzo out of the ring and the lumberjacks surrounded him. Enzo shoved Mustafa Ali and hopped back in ring. Enzo then knocked Kalisto out of the ring and the heel Cruiserweights stomped on Kalisto.

The match went back and forth for the next couple of minutes. A brawl broke out between the lumberjacks outside the ring. Back in the ring, Kalisto booted Enzo in the face while he was perched up on the turnbuckle. Kalisto then hit a Superplex and the two Superstars landed on all of the Cruiserweights ringside.

Enzo and Kalisto made their way back to the ring. Kalisto went for the Salida del Sol but Enzo blocked it. Enzo hit his finisher but Mustafa Ali dragged him out of the ring to break up the cover. Enzo then hit Ali with a Clothesline and then battled with Kalisto on the top rope. Kalisto then hit the Salida del Sol off the second rope for the victory and Kalisto is the new Cruiserweight Champion.

Enzo’s title reign was extremely short but I guess it served a purpose. Amore will get his rematch, but it looks like he is heading into a feud with Mustafa Ali. This match was very fun and I hope it leads to more people tuning into 205 Live. It is unlikely, but RAW needs to feature more matches like this to make people interested in the Cruiserweight division.

– We go the arena and The Miz is in the ring to kick off the show with a Miz TV segment. Curtis Axel is in the ring with him, and it looks like they’ll be presenting awards. The Miz first presents an award to Axel, and then sends his best wishes to Bo Dallas — who we are told is at home sick. The Miz then presents a “best supporting actors” award to Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus and Cesaro then come out to the ring and cut a promo on Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose as they accept their awards. The Miz starts to run down the former Shield members, saying they know their time has passed and The Miztourage, Sheamus and Cesaro are the future. The Miz then presents an award to the true big dog of WWE: himself. Miz says he is dedicating this award to all of the children who need a new role model, but then Roman Reigns comes out to interrupt. Reingns comes out to the ramp and says this is when Miz should shut up, and he’s giving them all one chance to get out of his ring. Miz says Reigns won’t do anything because there’s four of them and one of Reigns. Ambrose comes out next and stands beside Reigns. Seth Rollins is out next and he stands beside Reigns too. The trio heads down to the ring and start brawling with Sheamus, Cesaro, Axel and Miz all over the ring. Reigns beats down Axel at ringside, then comes back in the ring to deliver Superman punches to Sheamus and Cesaro. Rollins knees Sheamus in the face, and they clear the ring. The Miz tries to escape but Ambrose and Rollins surround him. Miz runs into the ring and dodges Reigns, but he walks right into a Dirty Deeds from Ambrose. They pick up Miz and powerbomb him, then Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose bump fists before leaving.

– We see a graphic on the screen asking if Sister Abigail is still alive — We may find out tonight.

Jason Jordan vs. Karl Anderson: Luke Gallows is at ringside in his tag partner’s corner. Jordan starts off in control, suplexing Anderson down to the mat multiple times. Anderson comes back with a slap to the face and a side headlock. Jordan throws Anderson off the ropes and throws him up for a facebuster. Gallows distracts Jordan from ringside, which leads to Anderson kicking Jordan’s leg out and stomping on him. Jordan throws some elbows to the face, but Anderson drops him and works on Jordan’s shoulder. Jordan kicks Anderson away, but Anderson comes right back with a spinebuster. Anderson continues working the shoulder. Jordan and Anderson start trading elbows to the face in the middle of the ring, but Jordan grabs Anderson and slams him with a back suplex. Winner: Jason Jordan

– Elias is backstage carrying his guitar towards the gorilla position.

– The Miz is in the back being checked on by the trainer and Axel. Kurt Angle walks in and points out that Miz has no broken bones or torn ligaments. Angle has more good news for The Miz — he, Sheamus and Cesaro will be facing Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose at the TLC pay-per-view.

– Elias is now in the ring for a song, but he quickly gets interrupted by Titus with a banjo on the stage. Titus says he has a song for Elias tonight, then he starts playing and sings that Elias is going to lose tonight to a man named Apollo Crews.

Elias vs. Apollo Crews: Titus is at ringside in Crews’ corner for this one. Elias takes control early on, and does a version of The Undertaker’s top rope walk into a flying clothesline. Crews fires back with kicks and a clothesline. Crews hits a standing moonsault for a two count. Crews throws Elias outside and they brawl on the ramp. Elias whips Crews towards the ring apron, but Crews jumps up onto the apron and moonsaults off onto Elias on the floor. Back in the ring, Crews pummels on Elias and stomps on him. Elias trips Crews throat-first onto the middle rope, then Elias hits his finisher for the three count. After the match, Elias picks up his guitar and leaves.

Winner: Elias

– WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore is backstage walking towards the gorilla positon.

– Enzo comes out to the ring and demands that RAW GM Kurt Angle come out to the ring. Enzo takes issue with Angle going back on his no-contact clause he granted Enzo, and he’s upset that he has to defend the Title against Kalisto at TLC. Enzo says if Kurt values his job, he should be more worried about making his Cruiserweight Champion happy. Kurt tells Enzo not to worry about the match at TLC, because Enzo is going to have to defend his Cruiserweight Title against Kalisto tonight in Indianapolis. Enzo says he’ll defend it, but since he’s the realest champ in the room and he deserves some respect — he’ll only do the match if it’s in the main event. Kurt shakes on it and heads to the back as Enzo dances in the ring. Before Kurt goes behind the curtain, and tells Enzo if he thinks he can weasel out of his match by countout or DQ, he’s out of luck, because this match will be a lumberjack match.

– Braun Strowman is shown backstage walking through the arena hallways.

Braun Strowman vs. Matt Hardy: Hardy charges at Strowman over and over but Braun continues to knock him down. Matt goes for the Side Effect, but Strowman powers out and throws Hardy across the ring. Strowman dumps Hardy out to ringside and continues the beating. Back in the ring, Strowman misses a shot in the corner and he crashes into the ring post. Hardy stuns Strowman with an elbow then a boot to the face and he starts mounting a comeback. Hardy hits a tornado DDT and a Twist of Fate, but Strowman kicks out. Strowman gets up and hits two back to back chokeslams on Hardy, then follows up with the running powerslam for the three count.

Winner: Braun Strowman

– When Strowman goes to leave, he picks up Hardy and starts carrying him up the ramp with him. With Hardy over his shoulder, Strowman makes it to the top of the ramp and then gets confronted by The Shield. Strowman sets down Hardy, then he starts brawling with Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose on the stage. Reigns hits a spear on Strowman, then the Shield powerbombs Strowman through the announce table. Cole, Booker T and Graves scramble from the announce table, as Strowman lays on the ground and The Shield members fist bump above him.

– The Shield does an interview backstage where Ambrose says they’ll take out anyone in their path. Reigns says they’ll take on anyone they need to, and that they are the three workhorses that run this business now.

– Mickie James comes out and cuts a promom on Alexa Bliss, saying she’ll make history by becoming a seven-time Women’s Champion at TLC. Alexa Bliss interrupts and introduces a video packing that cracks more jokes about Mickie James’ age. The video says Mickie has more wrinkles than a raisin, then Alexa calls Mickie a grandma and tells her to go play shuffleboard. Alexa says she’ll run circles around Mickie at TLC. Mickie tells Alexa to bring her “biscuit butt” down to the ring and say it to her face. Alexa starts walking down to the ring, but decides against it and walks away. Mickie chases after Alexa on the ramp and throws her into the ring. Mickie jumps on Alexa nad pummels on her. Mickie goes for a kick to the head but Alexa rolls out of the ring and retreats up the ramp.

– We see a video promoting Asuka’s debut at TLC, then we go backstage where Kurt Angle, Sasha Banks and Bayley comment on Asuka’s impending debut. Sasha and Bayley both plead their case that they should be Asuka’s first opponent. Alicia, Dana Brooke, and Emma all walk in one by one and also tell Kurt that they want Asuka. Kurt says on RAW they settle things in the ring, so they’ll have to face each other tonight in a five-way match to determine who gets Asuka.

Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher vs. Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali: Brian and Cedric start off. Gallagher pulls Ali off the apron, and Kendrick takes advantage of the distraction to attack Cedric from behind. Kendrick beats down Alexander, then Gallagher tags in and works on keeping Cedric grounded. Kendrick tags back in and hits a butterfly suplex on Cedric for a two count. Gallagher comes back in and hits Cedric with a series of kicks before putting him in a front face lock. More kicks from Gallagher, then Cedric comes back with a kick to the head and tags in Ali. Ali drops Gallagher then boots Kendrick in the head too. Gallagher hits Ali from behind and takes him out to ringside. Ali throws Gallagher into the fan barricade, then he heads back in the ring where Kendrick takes him down and hits the Sliced Bread #2 for the win.

Winners: Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher

– Michael Cole informs us that we might meet Sister Abigail next.

– We see a video package highlighting The Shield’s reunion tonight, and their beat-down on Braun Strowman.

– Kurt Angle is backstage on the phone when he gets interrupted by The Miz. The Miz is still selling a neck injury. Miz says he, Sheamus and Cesaro will happily face The Shield at TLC is they keep their word — Rollins claiming that they could take one “four, five, or six” opponents. Kurt says he’ll allow Miz to choose a fourth partner, and Miz says his partner is right behind the door. Braun Strowman kicks the door in and stares down Kurt, before storming off. Kurt has a look of concern on his face for The Shield.

– Cole, Booker and Graves are shown sitting at the destroyed announce table on the stage as they discuss how the TLC pay-per-view is shaping up.

– Finn Balor’s music hits and Balor makes his way out to the ring. Balor gets on the mic and says Bray Wyatt has left him speechless, and says Bray is like a poison that keeps mutating with more lies and mind games. He says Bray is desperate to have the WWE Universe buy into his garbage. As Balor is talking, the lights go out and an empty rocking chair appears on the big screen. Balor sits in it, and says while Finn may not be afraid of him he will be afraid of “her.” Wyatt says “they turned her into some kind of monster,” and he was there when she took her final breath. Wyatt says the season of the witch is upon Balor, and says “she’s here.” Wyatt then morphs into having facepaint and a veil over his face via CGI. He now speaks in a warped high-pitched voice and is now supposedly speaking as Sister Abigail. “Sister Abigail” says “she” taught Bray everything he knows, and she is here burned and rising from the ashes to help Bray. “She” says Bray would never hurt a fly, but Balor lied to and hurt Bray. “She” says dealing with demons is her specialty, and tells Balor he can’t beat “her.” Wyatt morphs back into himself via CGI, and is laughing into the camera. The lights cut out again and we go to commercial.

Sasha Banks vs. Bayley vs. Dana Brooke vs. Emma vs. Alicia Fox: This one is a fatal five-way elimination match to determine who will face Asuka at TLC. All five women start brawling right off the opening bell, with Dana and Sasha spilling out to the ringside floor. Dana drops Sasha, then heads back in the ring to help Emma beat down Alicia. Dana whips Emma into the corner and hits a cartwheel splash on her, and then on Alicia too. Bayley runs in but Dana stops her with a powerslam and a splash. Dana goes for a Samoan Drop on Bayley, but Bayley gets out and hits a belly to belly suplex for the three count on eliminate Dana. Bayley and Sasha start fighting now, until Alicia cheap shots them both from behind and pins Bayley to eliminate her. It’s down to Alicia, Sasha and Emma now. Emma and Alicia briefly team up against Sasha before turning on each other. Alicia kicks Emma then elbows her and rolls her up in a sunset flip for a two count. Sasha comes back and hits a double dropkick on both Alicia and Emma. Sasha starts cleaning house, and sends Alicia into the corner with a hurricanrana. Sasha hits a running knee strike on Alicia, then slaps Emma across the face. Sasha knocks Alicia into Emma, then she hits the backstabber on Alicia. Banks locks Alicia in the Banks Statement and Alicia taps out. The ref starts to pull Sasha off of Alicia, then Emma runs in and rolls up Sasha in a small package pin for the three count.

Winner: Emma

– Finn Balor does an interview backstage where he discusses his conversation with Bray Wyatt and “Sister Abigail” earlier tonight. Balor says when he heard “her” talk it shook him to his core and he felt a shiver up his spine. Balor says now he knows what he must do, and he walks off.

– Corey Graves announces that Kurt Angle has booked Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in a steel cage match next week.

– Kalisto is backstage for an interview about his lumberjack match tonight. He says Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero inspired him to be here in WWE, and when he sees Enzo with the cruiserweight title it’s a slap to the face of all the great cruiserweights before him. Kalisto says he’s going to make Rey, Eddie, and the WWE Universe proud tonight when he wins the Cruiserweight Title tonight.

Enzo Amore (c) vs. Kalisto: This one is a lumberjack match, with members of the cruiserweight roster surrounding the ring. There are no countouts or DQs, and the Cruiserweight Title is on the line. Enzo cuts a promo before the match with his usual intro, then he trashes the lumberjacks around the ring. The opening bell sounds and Enzo and Kalisto go for a test of strength to start off, but Enzo kicks Kalisto and puts him in a side headlock. Kalisto fights out and dumps Enzo outside, and Enzo immediately runs back in the ring when he realizes he’s surrounded by lumberjacks. Kalisto hits Enzo with a dropkick, then a drop toe hold and a front face lock. Enzo starts to come back, but Kalisto levels him with a flying cross body. Enzo rolls outside and the lumberjacks go to throw him back in the ring, but Enzo breaks free and runs back in the ring himself. Kalisto briefly argues with the ref and Enzo grabs him by the tights from behind and slams him into the turnbuckle. Kalisto falls outside and some of the heel lumberjacks start stomping on him. Back in the ring, Enzo works over Kalisto and tries to keep him grounded. Enzo goes for a kick, but Kalisto catches his foot and hits a kick of his own. Kalisto charges at Enzo in the corner and Enzo blocks him with his boot. Enzo tries to roll Kalisto outside, but Mustafa Ali pushes Kalisto back in the ring. Enzo isn’t pleased, and he kicks at Ali through the ropes. This leads to all of the heel and babyface lumberjacks brawling at ringside. Kalisto and Enzo start fighting on the top rope, then Kalisto superplexes Enzo off the top into a pile of cruiserweights brawling on the ringside floor below. Back in the ring, Kalisto goes for the Salida Del Sol on Enzo, but Enzo breaks free. Enzo drops Kalisto with a kick, but Ali breaks up the pin and pulls Enzo outside as payback for Enzo kicking at him earlier. Enzo freaks out at ringside and gets in a shouting match with Ali. Enzo yells that Ali is an ugly “son of a bitch” before clotheslining him. Back in the ring, Enzo and Kalisto fight on the turnbuckle. Enzo goes for a back suplex, but Kalisto reverses it into a Salida Del Sol off the top rope on Enzo for the three count. Kalisto wins the Cruiserweight Title and celebrates with the Title belt with some of the other cruiserweights.

Jim Ross Doesn’t Believe WWE Should Alter Roman Reigns’ Push

4

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross spoke with Pop Culture to promote his new book, Slobberknocker: My Life in Wrestling. Here are the highlights:

Which Superstar will hold a title in WWE next:

“Probably Sasha [Banks]. I think Bray Wyatt’s an amazing upside. I think he’s a character baby face and I think Sasha Banks is a [natural] heel.”

Whether WWE should alter Roman Reigns’ push as the top guy:

“Well, I think you just got to continue to allow him to be pretty good. You know, whenever the time is opportune. He is better than pretty good and a good kid, real good kid. Very committed.

“There’s nothing you say on TV, there’s no pillow vignettes, let’s change his music, let’s change his hair color, let’s change his outfit. You know, let’s change for change’s sake. Let’s change not knowing the selection, but just change for change sake. Because well, it might work. It might not. Steer the course and not be so wrapped up in getting him accepted as a fan favorite or a villain. I accept him as a star. And that’s what Roman Reigns is, he’s a star.”

The Rock Announces ‘Hobbs’ Release Date, Beef With Fast & Furious Co-Star

20

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has confirmed that his new movie Hobbs will be released on July 26th, 2019. The film is a spin-off of the Fast and Furious franchise based around The Rock’s character.

The Rock has come under fire in recent days from his Fast and Furious co-star Tyrese Gibson, who isn’t happy that The Rock, who he called a clown, is interrupting the filming of the next Fast movie to work on a spin-off.

The Rock responded to Tyrese’s rant over the weekend:

Here’s the official Hobbs announcement from The Rock’s Instagram page:

“Daddy’s gotta go back to work ~ Hobbs.

Pumped to expand and build out the FAST & FURIOUS universe in a cool, exciting way with our @sevenbucksprod, writer/producer Chris Morgan, producer Hiram Garcia and lead producer and my bigger twin, Neil Moritz.

Thank you UNIVERSAL STUDIOS for being tremendous partners who see the big picture and for coming to us years ago with this spinoff idea. Huge shout to my brother, Jason Statham for the trust and wanting to create and deliver something fresh and bad ass for the fans.

I have a tremendous amount of respect for this franchise that I’ve enjoyed droppin’ blood and sweat in over the years and my vision is to create greater opportunities for not only my fellow FF cast mates, but for other amazing actors as well who want to be a part of something new and cool.

I want to use my spinoff platform to create new characters that fans will ultimately love to have fun with in multiple chapters and platforms. Film, TV, Digital, Virtual Reality etc.. the more opportunities we can create the better for the fans.

Smart business.

Let’s have some FUN and to quote, Hobbs the boss, if you don’t like it, we’re happy to beat that ass like a Cherokee drum.

Asuka’s Opponent At TLC, HIAC Attendance Photo, NXT Road Trip

19

– While WWE has not yet announced any matches for tonight’s RAW, PWInsider reports that Nia Jax, Emma and Alicia Fox will square off in a triple threat match with the winner facing Asuka at TLC next weekend. It begs the question – with Asuka’s reign of terror in NXT, who would actually want to face her?

– On Monday Triple H announced NXT live events from Pittsburgh, PA (11/30), Altoona, PA (12/1) and Bel Air, MD (12/2). Tickets go on sale this Friday morning.

– During Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view from Detroit, the commentary team noted that the show was sold out with over 16,000 fans in attendance. Photos are surfacing online showing the show was far from a sell-out, with lots of open seats even in the lower sections of the arena. Click to enlarge:

Matt Morgan Explains Why He’s Running For Public Office In Florida

2

Former WWE/TNA star Matt Morgan recently spoke with Scott Fishman of the Miami Herald about his bid to run for District 4 Commissioner in Longwood, Florida (Seminole County). Here are the highlights:

Why he’s running for office:

“Enough of the citizens over the last five years have been asking me to run,” he said. “That combined with giving back to all these other cities during my career, I wanted to do it with my own city and take it where it needs to be. As a commissioner, you have an opportunity to have somewhat of a say by doing the job of listening to the people. They have gotten away from that. Not all commissioners, but my opponent for sure has.

You need a non-politician in office. That’s what we need. Someone who can keep these guys straight. Somebody whose vote can’t be bought. Someone whose vote can’t be swayed. You can have your own ideas. I’m not saying you don’t, but your job is to be the vehicle for the citizens and their opinions and see what their opinions are and then vote on their behalf. It’s the citizen’s opinions.”

How he will be successful due to his background:

“Just like me as a pro wrestler. The argument I get is that I was successful as a pro wrestler because I’m 7-feet, 300 pounds. I can see that getting me in the door, but what always made me successful was the ability to outwork people. Whether it was in the gym, my dieting, cutting promos in the mirror every day I would wake up early in my career. Whatever it took to outwork people. I have a certain work ethic.

All I’m doing is taking that over to this. School was the same way. It’s the one thing you can control in life. You can control how hard you work at something. Once it started raining my campaign manager asked me to get out of there because he couldn’t risk me being sick knocking on doors the next day. I responded, ‘Even if I do get sick, I’ll work on through it.’ I did catch a cold, but I still worked the next two days knocking on doors. It was to show the citizens there is nothing I won’t do for them.”

Becky Lynch Talks Possible MMA Career, MMA Fighter Interested In WWE

2

– During a recent interview with The Irish Sun, Becky Lynch spoke about the possibility of pursuing a career in MMA or boxing. Lynch is dating UFC fighter Luke Sanders and was called out by UFC Featherweight Champion Cris Cyborg this summer.

“My boyfriend is in the UFC and I see the amount of work and dedication it takes him and you have to be really passionate about it,” Lynch replied.

“I am a big fan and I really like watching it but that is not where my passion is. My passion is in what we do, and in wrestling. It is in telling stories and in acting and that is where I want to put all my energy.”

– MMA fighter Gabi Garcia recently spoke to TMZ Sports and expressed an interest in becoming a WWE Superstar one day.

The 6’2″ 200-plus pound woman’s MMA star said, “It’s possible one day if the guys invited me. I love the show, I love watching WWE, so why not?”

Garcia certainly has a blueprint to follow if she does want to become a pro wrestler down the road. Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Matt Riddle, “Filthy” Tom Lawlor and most recently Shayna Baszler are examples of former UFC fighters who successfully crossed over from the octagon to the squared circle.

Xavier Woods Shows Off HIAC Battle Scars (Video), Styles Wants Rematch

6

– Former WWE United States Champion AJ Styles wants a rematch. Baron Corbon captured the title at Sunday night’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view by defeating Styles and Tye Dillinger in a triple threat match.

Styles appeared on Talking Smack after HIAC and gave his pitch that he should be entitled to a rematch since Corbin pinned Tye Dillinger to win the gold, not him.

Meanwhile, Corbin taunted Styles and all the “crybabies out there” after his victory:

– Following last night’s (Sun. October 8, 2017) Hell In A Cell pay-per-view (PPV), The New Day were unsuccessful in defending their SmackDown Live Tag Team Championships against The Usos inside Hell In A Cell.

(Photo) Shane McMahon’s Son Flips Off Sami Zayn At HIAC

16

In the main event of last night’s (Sun. October 8, 2017) WWE Hell In A Cell pay-per-view (PPV) former Universal and United States Champion Kevin Owens went head-to-head with SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon inside “The Devil’s Playground.” The finish to the match saw Shane head to the top of the cell in attempt to recreate his WrestleMania 32 bump off the top of the structure and onto Owens who was laid down on top of an announce table down below.

Right before Shane came down crashing on Owens, however, Sami Zayn came out to make the save and pull Owens off the announce table just in time. It seems Zayn will be working as a heel moving forward and has rekindled his alliance with “KO,” and Shane McMahon’s son isn’t a fan. A fan captured a screenshot of Shane’s son reacting to Zayn’s heel turn, and he was giving the ex-NXT Champion the one-finger salute:

Triple H Says Jinder Mahal Has Earned His Respect

28

WWE COO and former WWE Champion Triple H recently did an interview with The National while he was in India to talk about current WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. During the interview “The Game” discussed how “The Modern Day Maharaja” earned his respect, and how WWE Superstars are more than just athletes. You can check out the highlights here below:

Jinder Mahal earning his respect:

“Jinder Mahal has done an amazing job in recreating himself. Jinder was in WWE for the first time and wasn’t as successful as he would have wanted. But we went back and re-energised himself, dug deeper (within) himself and worked extremely hard in his second chance and is now making the most of it. People can criticise him, but he has earned my respect.”

WWE Superstars being more than just athletes:

“They are more than just athletes. They are the best and most well-conditioned athletes, but beyond that they are the best entertainers in the world. Their ability to be able to control the crowd to garner those emotions and also tell the story they want to tell through athletic manoeuvres. And this is what makes them different.”

William Regal Speaks In-Depth About His Battle With Substance Abuse

0

NXT General Manager William Regal was a recent guest on Sean Waltman’s X-Pac 1-2-360 Podcast and spoke candidly about his struggles with substance abuse.

“I didn’t drink until I was 25. I didn’t do anything, it was just not something that I did,” Regal said. “I left home when I was 16 and I was in nightclubs every night after work. I lived in a resort area where, within a mile walk of my house there was fifty-two nightclubs and over three hundred bars, and I was in one of them every night. I never drank, I just liked going out. Until I came to America and I sort of started doing a bit of this and a bit of that. I started taking a lot of pain pills and everything else. I coped with it for a while, and then the last few months of ’97 and ’98 were a complete mess. Then I said ‘enough.’ I just had enough of it.

“I don’t shy away from the fact that I’ve got no faith in anything, I don’t believe in any of that stuff. I think it’s just a matter of you’ve got to find whatever works for you. Personally, for me, it was just ‘Stop making excuses.’ Because that’s all it is at the end of the day. When you can stop making excuses for yourself, you’ll pack it in.

I hate to say it, but a lot of these places will give you nothing but excuses as to why you stay the way you do. ‘Well, your mom was this,’ or ‘Your dad was an alcoholic.’ It’s nonsense. You just have to take responsibility for yourself. I don’t care what you grew up with. There’s a point where you just have to go ‘Stop it. Just behave yourself.’

“I was told this a very long time ago: if you live in the past, you die every day. If you’ve done the kind of stuff where you got something to… you just beat yourself up for it which will just cause you to feel sorry for yourself; give you more excuses.”

“Luckily for me, people knew me and have given me a lot of extra chances. It’s like when I came to the WWF the first time. I got let go from WCW because I was a mess and they should’ve let me go a long time before they did. I’m not under any illusions; I don’t blame anyone. They did the right thing. But I got hired instantly to the WWF and people there didn’t know about the problems I had. They figured it out pretty quick.

“I went into rehab and, after ten weeks in there, I got out one day and I messed up. That was the last step for me. That was the time I just went ‘Ok, that’s it. Just stop it. Stop making excuses.’ That was the end of it, that was it. From then on it’s never been a thing since.”

“I got opportunities again. WWF didn’t have to put me in rehab because they didn’t do that stuff at the time. They looked after me. Even after ten weeks, they said ‘We’ll continue to pay for it, but we’re going to let you go.’ I was told ‘You can come back when you sort your life out.’ I came out and, straight away within a few weeks, I got a call from Eric Bischoff. ‘I heard you’ve straightened yourself out. Do you want a job back here?’ So, I had a lot of chances because I put a lot of work in before. People knew I’d been through a bit of something.”

“That was what it was for me. Just stop making excuses. I can’t say that’s going to work for everybody because I had a stable home life. I always had people around me. I can’t imagine when somebody’s got nothing and then, what else can you do? I can only speak for me, I’m not one of these people that say ‘You’ve got to do this, you’ve got to do that.’”

“People ask me ‘Why did you do all that?’ Honestly, I was just looking for something that wasn’t there. You get everything you want by the time you’re in your mid-20’s, and you go ‘Now what?’ It’s like, you want to explore and… that just happens to be there, and ‘let’s have a go at that for a while.’ Sometimes people never get out of it, sometimes you snap out of it. Some people need a system or a crutch to get through it. Good for them, whatever works for you, just get yourself through it.”

Bret & Blade Hart Recall Being Backstage After The Montreal Screwjob, WCW Story

4

WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart was the latest guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast and was joined by his son, Blade. Bret spoke about wanting to work with WWE again, Eric Bischoff, New Japan, the Montreal Screwjob, WCW and more.

You can listen to the full episode here:

Here are some highlights:

Blade Hart recalls being backstage after the Montreal Screwjob:

“I remember Shawn’s like ‘I swear to f**king god,’ I remember I’m sitting right there, I’m probably seven years old, and even (Bret) is like ‘You gotta probably take five outside.’ Then Vince comes out all staggered and I got the foam finger and I can tell he’s ready to kick that foam finger off my arm.”

“I was pretty young, but I remember a lot of stuff. I remember my mom chewing out Hunter. Even not just on the documentary but I remember standing there watching my mom chew him out. I remember Kelly Remple trying to kinda calm my mom down. I remember the tension, too. I remember them asking me ‘Do you know what’s going on?’ Like, I had no idea. I just remember I had to say goodbye to the Headbangers and stuff, and I was sad about that.”

Bret recalls a later incident involving Blade backstage in WCW:

“Scott Hall had some match where he threw a really lousy punch for a finish. I remember he came back after and Blade was just a little kid, came up and said ‘What kind of punch was that?’ Everyone in the dressing room just popped. Scott was like, you know, Razor Ramon walking in, he didn’t even know, how do you even answer a little kid that tells you your wrestling was the s**ts?”

Strange Asuka Tweet, Wade Barrett Talks Possible WWE Return, More

15

– Former WWE Superstar Wade Barrett (Stu Bennett) recently spoke with SPORTbible about his new role as General Manager of Defiant Wrestling (formerly WCPW) and his WWE run, including Nexus, the Bad News Barrett gimmick, the League of Nations and more.

When asked if he expects to return to WWE in the future, Barrett said:

“I would never rule out going back in some capacity. I wouldn’t say it was the best of terms that we left on; I think there was a lot of resentment, certainly from my side, with certain people in management there. I don’t think we’ll be sending each other Christmas cards at the moment but I’ve certainly not gone out my way to trash them, they haven’t gone out of their way to trash me, so I think a little water under the bridge might do us both some good.”

He added that he’s 99% certain he will wrestle again at some point, he just doesn’t know when.

– Former WWE announcer Taz is no fan of WWE ring announcer Greg Hamilton. He tweeted on Sunday night:

https://twitter.com/officialtaz/status/917209299075682304

– Former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka is set to make her main roster debut next weekend at the RAW brand’s Tables, Ladders & Chairs pay-per-view. While no opponent has been announced for the Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka appears to have her sights set on Sasha Banks. Over the weekend, she tweeted to Sasha noting that she wants to give her a massage. The Boss gave a puzzled response.

Owens Reacts To Zayn’s Heel Turn, Trish Congratulates Natalya

15

– WWE SmackDown has a live event tonight from East Lansing, Michigan. Tomorrow’s SmackDown Live will broadcast from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

– WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus wrote a blog post on her website talking about Natalya breaking her pay-per-view match record at last night’s Hell in a Cell PPV:

“I’m not surprised, Nattie is hands down the hardest working WWE Superstar male or female! In the ring she is as solid as it gets, as a performer she always delivers, and she is a excellent representative of not only the company but of woman in wrestling. She truly exemplifies what you can accomplish through hard work and what can happen when you follow your passion.. And it is for all of those reasons and more that I have always said following my retirement, that I wish I had worked with Nattie.”

– The conclusion of Sunday’s WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view saw Sami Zayn turning heel, saving longtime rival Kevin Owens from a top-of-the-cage attack by Shane McMahon and helping Owens get the victory in their Falls Count Anywhere match.

Following the show, Owens took to social media to share the following throwback photo of himself and Zayn.
