Jerry Lawler Remembers Lance Russell, Says He Belongs In WWE Hall of Fame (Audio)

1

This week’s episode of Jerry Lawler’s Dinner With The King podcast featured Lawler paying tribute to Lance Russell, the “Voice of Memphis Wrestling” who passed away earlier this week at 91 years old.

The episode of opened with a tribute to Lance:

Here are some highlights from this week:

Lawler on Russell’s effect on his career and life:

“You know, a lot of times when a loved one or a great, close friend passes away, you are left with the feeling that I never really got to say goodbye or I never really got to tell the person how I felt about them.

But I’m happy in the fact that over the years, I did have several opportunities to tell Lance how much I thought I thought of him, how much I loved him, how important he was to me. Without Lance, there would be no me. And I knew that, and I had the opportunity to say that to Lance Russell. I loved Lance Russell. There’ll never be another person like him.”

Should Lance Russell be in the WWE Hall of Fame?

“I think he’s certainly deserving. Even though he didn’t ever work for the WWE, hey, WWE is putting a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that didn’t necessarily work for them. Which I think is a great thing. Even though it’s called the WWE Hall of Fame, they are opening their arms a little further; it’s more of a wrestling hall of fame. At least in my eyes, he’s the greatest wrestling commentator ever.”

The episode closed with Jerry Lawler saying goodbye to Lance Russell:

John Cena Says He’s Never Retiring From WWE, Shoots Down Possible Career In Politics

17

TMZ cameras caught up with John Cena and Nikki Bella this week to discuss Nikki’s role on Dancing With The Stars, if she’s taught Cena any of her dance moves, Cena’s WWE future and more.

When asked if he’s considering retirement, Cena played it cool and responded, “from what?” The camera man clarified his question and asked if he’s going to retire from WWE.

Ever the company man, Cena said, “No, never. They’re family.”

With Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson repeatedly saying that he might run for United States President one day, TMZ asked Cena if he’d ever try his hand at politics. Cena shot down the notion, joking, that there’s “too much politics” involved.

Big Cass Appearing At Ringside Fest Along With Balor, Strowman & Bliss

2

Big Cass is set to feature in this year’s Ringside Fest along with Alexa Bliss, Braun Strowman, and Finn Balor.

After he beat Enzo Amore, the 7 foot superstar was featured on RAW Talk and went on to state that he was coming after the Universal Title.  So what is the latest on the injury that is keeping Big Cass on the sidelines?

Unfortunately there isn’t anything of note to mention yet.  His official twitter account has been quiet, apart from an off topic comment about the world series, and other than an appearance on an episode of The Sam Roberts’ Wrestling Podcast, the 7 foot athlete has appeared off-grid!

This isn’t a surprise as Big Cass underwent surgery to repair is torn ACL in late August.  While the surgery was successful, a torn ACL is an extremely complex injury that requires a long time to recover correctly and is feared by any sports star.  The potential career ending injury is not to be taken lightly, so it is unlikely that we’ll see Big Cass making a shock return in the same manner that Braun Strowman did when he required elbow surgery.

The only positive that could be taken from this situation is the potential for a completely fresh start when he does return; the chance to cut away from Enzo and become a force to be reckoned with in the singles division.

Hopefully the Ringside event in New York will prompt a new update, however it looks like we won’t be seeing Big Cass before May 2018, after Wrestlemania.

Bobby Roode Talks About Asuka Joining The Main Roster, Superstars He Wants To Work With

0

WWE Superstar and former NXT World Champion Bobby Roode recently spoke with Gamespot to hype the upcoming release of WWE 2K18.

Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Joining SmackDown Live: “Of course being on SmackDown is a huge career highlight for me. I really enjoyed my time in NXT. It was an amazing experience there, but you can’t get complacent in this business. Obviously being on SmackDown, there are a lot of guys there that I wanna get in the ring with. As far as the character goes, I’m just out there having fun. I got a smile on my face, and why wouldn’t I? I’m getting an opportunity to live my dream, go out there every week, and be a part of SmackDown Live and make SmackDown Live ‘glorious.’”

WWE Superstars He Wants To Work With: “Oh man, I’d be standing here for probably an hour. Yeah, Seth Rollins, the guy who is on the cover of 2K18; Roman Reigns; and Dean Ambrose. Let’s talk about the SmackDown side. We got Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Randy Orton, and Rusev. There are just a ton of guys. The sky’s the limit really, and I feel like a kid in a candy store, like I’m starting my career all over again because there is so many cool opportunities that await. So, hopefully I’ll get a chance to work with all of those guys.”

Asuka Joining Monday Night RAW: “She’s gonna be dominant, she really is. There’s never been another superstar, let alone a woman, who has ever dominated this way since maybe Goldberg. I think it’s gonna be an exciting time for Raw. It’s obviously a very exciting time for Auska as well. So, it’s just a shame that she’s got that collar bone injury, and that she couldn’t have come up any sooner. But, she’s got a long career ahead of her. She’s gonna be very successful, and she’s an amazing talent. So, I’m looking forward to watching her.”

Shane Strickland Hypes MLW: One-Shot & His Main Event Match Against Riccchet

1

With the final push to this Thursday night for MLW’s return to LIVE professional wrestling, the co-headliner of the HUGE main event of MLW’s One Shot Shane Strickland joins the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling podcast.

Hyping his clash with Ricochet, “The King of Swerve” breaks down the emotional battle that he has in attempting to prove to his mentor that the time to pass the torch has arrived. We also get an in depth look at the preparation that has gone into to the promotion of this much discussed event and how the fans have a ton to look forward to with MLW’s gigantic return.

MLW’s One Shot return:

“This is a great inaugural return of MLW running live shows again. It couldn’t be run by better people and for all of the people that are promoting this between Court Bauer, Alex Greenfield , MSL this is like a great core group of guys behind the scenes and on the card as well. A lot of great new young talent that a lot of people aren’t familiar with and a lot of great upper card guys that have been doing this on the indies and on the next level WWE on television for years as well so this is a great all around opportunity for new fans and old fans that are going to be introduced to the new indies and the new style of pro wrestling industry and guys that have been watching wrestling for years.”

How the overall card is constructed:

“I am always positive about the entire show and the show in its entirety. From start to finish everything almost has to go off perfectly, especially with MLW coming back to doing live events again so I am really looking forward to and want everybody to do well. I want every match to perform and out-perform and over achieve but at the same time I am very laser focused on the task I have at hand and the match that I have in the main event. Especially all that pressure and responsibility being put on last to go after all these talented individuals to go at somebody across the ring like Ricochet. It is a lot of pressure and it is also a lot of big responsibility in my mind. ”

MLW’s 360 web series building to the main event:

“It’s been great because it’s been showing the pulling back of that curtain a little bit and showing the inside of who we are as men and individuals in our home life. We show our motivations to why we continue to do this and what doing this for so long has gotten us and all those opportunities and sacrifices we make being on the road and traveling so much and all the rewards we reap but also the sacrifices we leave behind in pursuing this business. It shows a lot of both of that in 360 and how hard we work to continue to be on top or continue to grind and progress more in this business.”

Ricochet’s influence on this generation of wrestlers:

“The past ten years he honestly has elevated the bar of what athleticism in wrestling has meant. For so long we thought that we stopped at one rotation in the air with what we are doing off the top rope. Now he is doing double moonsaults and double front flips (with 630s) and he has pushed the envelope so much and I credit a lot of my style and literally a whole generation of guys that have tried to emulate what he does. Him and PAC (Neville) in Japan then several years later moved on to him and Ospreay and he is constantly changing how we view wrestling and how we get in the ring and perform and he is always pushing the bar and raising it.”

What Ricochet means to his career:

“He honestly opened my eyes to a whole different realm of what was possible or able to be done in a ring. He has mentored me for quite some time as well and after that and I’d say a couple of years ago I pretty much took the training wheels off myself and I ventured off and started doing my own thing and I made my own waves in trying to create my own path to try and be the one who is emulated now at this point in my career. For what he is doing now, I will never say that he doesn’t work hard anymore and I definitely feel like he has let off the gas a little bit but he still continues to be a trend setter and still continues to knock down barriers and find new ways to just accomplish new things in wrestling like winning BOLA for the second time a couple of months ago. There is always a new task and he is in competition with himself and he’s been on top for so long that you get a little content but at the same time he doesn’t want to give it up and he wants someone to literally come in and be like this is mine and I feel like I am that one to do it.”

What we can expect from their match at MLW’s One Shot:

“You are going to witness a big huge generational gap with one of my mentors that has tutored me through pro wrestling and has elevated me to the next level as far as getting me a job in Lucha Underground to changing my mindset as to maneuver and perform in different ways that I didn’t know I was capable of and me facing that man. Now showing him that I am no longer just one of your students and I am no longer one of the people that you are training and bringing up. Now it is time to prove that I am on your level. You have witnessed that with MLW 360 (our miniseries) and you can watch all six episodes that track the rivalry and our feud that is Shane Strickland vs. Ricochet. I just want you to watch our MLW miniseries and if you aren’t sold and are not brought up to speed as to what this means to me and what this means to Ricochet and that will tell you everything you need to know.”

The October 3rd edition of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. It was the go-home show for WWE Hell in a Call 2017 this Sunday. Below are 7 takeaways from this week’s SmackDown:

Mahal Has Momentum Heading Into WWE Hell In A Cell

Shinsuke Nakamura was interviewed by Renee Young to kick off the go-home episode of SmackDown before WWE Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Renee asked about the insults that Jinder Mahal has said about him recently. Nakamura replied “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. Nakamura vowed to win the WWE Championship Sunday at Hell in a Cell.

The Singh Brothers then interrupted and introduced Jinder Mahal and pointed towards the entrance ramp. Mahal attacked Nakmura from behind, but Shinsuke still wound up beating down Mahal. Nakamura geared up for the Kinshasa but Samir and Sunil Singh grabbed his legs. Jinder then booted Nakamura in the face and then planted him with the Khallas.

Later on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, Jinder Mahal was shown backstage. Highlights from Mahal’s attack on Nakamura were shown from the first segment of SmackDown. Jinder said that Shinsuke underestimated his intelligence and that it only took a simple distraction to throw the “rock star” off his game. Mahal said that the same thing is going to happen at Hell in a Cell and that he will still be WWE Champion.

Charlotte Tapped Out To The Sharpshooter

Screen Shot 2017 10 03 at 8.32.43 PM

Charlotte and Becky Lynch faced Natalya and Carmella tonight. Charlotte had the match in control when Carmella dragged Becky Lynch outside the ring. Carmella hit Becky with the Money in the Bank briefcase and Charlotte saw it out of the corner of her eye. While Charlotte was distracted by this, Natalya hit her in the back of her head with a forearm.

Natalya locked in the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring and Charlotte had no choice but to tap out. Natalya will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Charlotte at Hell in a Cell this Sunday.

Bobby Roode defeated Mike Kanellis in quick fashion tonight on SmackDown. After the match, Dolph Ziggler came down to the entrance ramp and said that he is working on an entrance for Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Ziggler then came down to the entrance ramp with a giant drum.

He dropped the drum and grabbed an airhorn. Dolph placed the airhorn next to the microphone and then asked if the crowd liked him now. The crowd chanted “no!”. Dolph said that he was going to show the world an entrance at Hell in a Cell like that they have never seen before. Ziggler added that he is going to expose Roode for being nothing more than an entrance and that is all he will ever be.

Dolph went to leave the ring and Bobby Roode grabbed a microphone. Bobby said Ziggler’s entrance was terrible and that he is doing it all wrong. Roode stated that it goes a little something like this and posed in the ring as the crowd chanted “glorious!”. Roode’s music hit as Ziggler made his way backstage.

The Usos came down and cut a promo on the New Day. The Usos will be facing New Day inside the cell at WWE Hell in a Cell 2017 this Sunday. The Usos vowed to recapture their tag titles and were then interrupted by New Day. Woods, Kofi and Big E boasted about elevating SmackDown’s tag division since they arrived on the blue brand.

New Day said that they will still be SmackDown Tag Team Championship after Hell in a Cell this Sunday. The crowd started chanting “New Day rocks!” as the two teams stared at each other in the ring. This is one match on Hell in a Cell’s card that I cannot wait to see. These two teams work great together and will try to steal the show this Sunday during the PPV.

United States Champion AJ Styles was shown backstage watching Baron Corbin and Tye Dillinger have a match in the ring. AJ Styles will defend his title against Baron Corbin this Sunday at Hell in a Cell. Corbin controlled the majority of the match but wound up losing to Dillinger via a roll-up.

AJ Styles appeared on the jumbotron. Styles said that nothing makes him happier than watching Corbin squander away another opportunity. Styles added that Corbin has the ability of a thoroughbred, but the mind of a jackass. AJ stated that taking shortcuts isn’t going to work on Sunday in their United States Championship match.

Rusev came down to the ring with Aiden English. Rusev scolded Orton for ruining Rusev Day last week. Rusev vowed to defeat Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell and said that would be another happy Rusev Day. Randy Orton then interrupted and stormed down to the ring. Randy Orton had a singles match with Aiden English.

Rusev hopped up on the ring apron right before the bell rang. Orton became distracted and English attacked him from behind. Orton went for an RKO early but English blocked it and connected with a kick to Randy’s head. Orton planted English shortly after with an RKO for the victory. Rusev tried to come into the ring to attack Orton but Randy was ready. Rusev retreated as Orton posed on the turnbuckle. There is hardly any buzz for this match at all and hopefully Sunday is the last match of this feud.

Sami Zayn confronted Shane McMahon backstage. Sami informed Shane that he has no idea what Kevin Owens is capable of. Zayn stated that this isn’t just obnoxious and snarky Kevin Owens, he has snapped. Shane said “with all do respect, you worry about you and I’ll worry about me”. Shane then thanked Sami and walked away.

Shane called Owens down to the ring and Owens didn’t show up. Shane called Owens a coward and said that the Hell in a Cell match on Sunday will be a Falls Count Anywhere match as well. Owens appeared in the crowd but refused to come down to the ring. Owens stated that he had spent too much time in Devner and exited into the concourse.

Shane McMahon said that he will bring the fight to him and chased him through the crowd. Owens attacked Shane from behind when the reached the concession stands. Owens Powerbombed Shane through a table selling WWE merchandise and then made his way to the ring through the crowd.

Owens grabbed a microphone and stated that he agreed with Shane making the match Falls Count Anywhere. Owens said that he wanted to beat the hell out of Shane inside the cell and outside the cell. Owens added that he was going to Powerbomb Shane so many times that he will forget his kids name. Owens claimed that he was going to throw Shane off the cell on Sunday.

Shane was shown making his way down the stairs in the crowd and Owens chuckled. Owens dropped the microphone and attacked Shane by the barricade. Shane threw Owens over the barricade and then hopped onto the barricade and connected with a Clothesline. Owens threw Shane over the announce table and then got back into the ring.

Shane followed him and Owens booted him in the face. Shane battled back but Owens connected with a Superkick. Owens then headbutted Shane and he fell to the canvas. Shane once again started to get up and Owens planted him with the Pop-Up Powerbomb as SmackDown went off the air.

WWE SmackDown Live Results & Discussion (10/3)

296

The October 3rd, 2017 edition of WWE SmackDown Live took place at the Pepsi Center in Denver, CO.

– This week’s SmackDown broadcast opens up with the entire roster on the stage for a moment of silence for the victims of the shooting in Las Vegas, NV.

– Renee Young is in the ring to welcome everyone to SmackDown, then she introduces her guest Shinsuke Nakamura, who will be challenging for Jinder Mahal’s WWE Championship at Hell In A Cell on Sunday. Renee asks Nakamura what he thinks of Jinder Mahal making fun of him, and he says sticks and stones will break his bones but words will never hurt him. Renee says they’ve never seen anyone in WWE like him, and Nakamura adds that he’ll take the WWE Title from Jinder Mahal on Sunday. The Singh Brothers come out to the stage and say they’re sorry for interrupting Shinsuke’s thrilling interview, but they have to introduce Jinder Mahal. They do their usual introduction, but instead of coming out from behind the curtain, Jinder Mahal hits the ring out of nowhere and attacks Nakamura from behind. Nakamura starts to fight back, but the Singh Brothers hit the ring too and the numbers are too much for him. Jinder boots Nakamura in the face, then gives him the cobra clutch slam. Jinder holds his WWE Title belt in the air while Nakamura is down in the ring.

– Tom Phillips and Corey Graves tell us that Shane McMahon will stand face to face with Kevin Owens later tonight.

– We see footage from earlier today of Women’s Champion Natalya confronting Carmella & James Ellsworth and warning her not to try cashing in her Money In The Bank contract tonight.

Natalya & Carmella def. Charlotte & Becky Lynch: Ellsworth is chained up at ringside in Carmella and Natalya’s corner. Charlotte and Becky dump Natalya and Carmella out to ringside early on, and they follow up with baseball slide kicks to the outside. Back in the ring, Natalya squares off against Becky and drops her with a clothesline. Nattie takes Becky back into her corner and stomps a mudhole in her. Natalya keeps Becky grounded with some elbow shows and then a snap suplex. Becky breaks free from Natalya and gets the hot tag to Charlotte. Charlotte cleans house then lays into Natalya with a series of chops to the chest. Charlotte hits a T-bone suplex on Natalya for a two count. Carmella and Becky both run in and then brawl out to ringside. Charlotte spears down Natalya and goes for the Figure Four, but Natalya escapes. Meanwhile at ringside, Carmella nails Becky with the Money In The Bank briefcase. Charlotte sees the briefcase shot, and Natalya takes advantage of the distraction by dropping Charlotte from behind. Natalya follows up with a Sharpshooter for the win via submission.

– We see a special look back at the history between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon, including Owens’ attack on Vince.

– Bobby Roode is shown backstage heading towards the gorilla position.

Bobby Roode def. Mike Kanellis: Roode backs up Mike into the corner to start off, but Kanellis fires back with kicks and right hands. Roode ducks a punch and answers with a spinebuster. Roode waits for Kanellis to get to his feet, then he hits the Glorious DDT for the win via pinfall after a very short match.

– After the match, Dolph Ziggler comes out to the stage and says Roode’s entrance is quite a production. Ziggler says he’s been working on ideas for his entrance for their match at Hell In A Cell on Sunday. First Ziggler plays a siren, then he goes behind the curtain and comes out with a big drum. He drops the drum and sets off some noisemakers and an air horn. Ziggler uses the air horn all the way down to the ring, then he steps in. He asks if he fans all like him now, and tells Roode that he thinks his entrance is everything. Ziggler says Roode finally weaseled his way into WWE after all these years, but on Sunday Ziggler will show us an entrance like we’ve never seen before. Ziggler says when the bell rings on Sunday he’ll expose Roode for what he is – nothing more than a fancy entrance. Ziggler drops the mic and walks off, but Roode picks up the mic and stops him. Roode says he thinks Ziggler’s entrances are horrible, then leads the crowd in a “glorious” chant before his music starts.

– The Usos come out to the ring next to cut a promo on The New Day. They say on Sunday they’ll take the New Day to the Uso Penitentiary, and they make comparisons between the Hell In A Cell cage and a jail. Before they can finish, Tag Team Champions the New Day come down the ramp to interrupt. The New Day promotes their new underwear on WWEShop, then they get into talking about Hell In A Cell. They say that on Sunday, The Usos will find themselves face first in a pile of their own “day one ish.” The New Day steps into the ring, and The Usos back off. The Usos head up the ramp to the back while the Tag Champs taunt them from the ring.

– WWE Champ Jinder Mahal is backstage cutting a promo in his language for his people. He then switches to English and shows us a clip of him beating down Nakamura earlier. Jinder says that he’s going to do the same thing to Nakamura on Sunday at Hell In A Cell, and is confident that he’ll be standing tall with his WWE Title at the end of the night.

– It’s announced that The Hype Bros will take on Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin on the Hell In a Cell Kickoff Show on Sunday.

Tye Dillinger def. Baron Corbin: Corbin backs Dillinger into the corner with strikes right off the opening bell. Corbin throws Dillinger outside, but Dillinger runs right back in the ring and starts laying into Corbin with punches. Dillinger fires up and hits a superkick on Corbin that sends Corbin rolling out to ringside to recover. AJ Styles is shown watching on a monitor backstage as Corbin comes back with an elbow. Corbin pushes Dillinger off the apron into the ring steps, then he follows him outside. Corbin hangs Tye upside down on the ropes outside the ring, then punches him in the midsection. Corbin throws Tye back in the ring and struts over to him like he knows he’s got this match in the bag. Corbin goes to pick up Tye, but Tye snatches Corbin and rolls him up in a small package pin for the win out of nowhere. Tye rolls out of the ring and retreats up the ramp as Corbin freaks out in the ring.

– As Tye makes his way backstage, AJ Styles appears on the big screen and cuts a promo on Corbin. Styles taunts Corbin for his recent losses, and says Corbin needs to stop throwing temper tantrums all the time. Styles says Corbin keeps getting in the way of his U.S. Title reign, so on Sunday he’s taking him out.

– Aiden English and Rusev are in the ring. Rusev gets on the mic, and points out that Randy Orton ruined “Rusev Day” last week. Rusev begins talking about his plans for Orton at Hell In a Cell on Sunday, but then Orton’s music hits and we have a match.

Randy Orton def. Aiden English: English gets some offense in early on and takes control of the match with a dropkick to the face. Orton ducks a clothesline and English runs off the ropes. Orton throws English up into the air and hits an RKO on him on the way down. Orton rolls up English for the win after a short match.

– Rusev looks like he’s about to hop in the ring, but Orton sees him and gets right in his face. Rusev backs down and slowly retreats up the ramp, talking trash to Orton who is still in the ring.

– Sami Zayn approaches Shane McMahon backstage with a warning about Owens. Zayn says that Shane has only gotten a glimpse of what Owens can do when he snaps, and that Owens is in a very bad state of mind. Shane brushes off Zayn and tells him to worry about himself, and Shane will worry about Shane.

– SmackDown commissioner Shane McMahon makes his way out to the ring next. Shane calls out Owens, and also announces that their Hell In A Cell match on Sunday will be under Falls Count Anywhere rules. We hear Owens on a mic somewhere, but he’s not on the stage. Owens emerges from the crowd, and says that he’s really the money in WWE. Owens walks towards the ring, but then says that he’s spent enough time in Denver as-is and he’s going to leave. As Owens starts walking away, Shane calls him out from the ring and calls him a coward. Shane says that since Owens won’t come to him, he’s going to go to Owens. Shane hops the fan barricade and runs up the steps through the crowd. Shane steps into the arena hallways and gets ambushed by Owens. There are some fans in the hallway cheering on the fight. Owens and Shane brawl all over the arena’s concession stand area until Owens grabs hold of Shane and powerbombs him through a WWE merch table. Owens leaves Shane laying and he starts walking back towards the ring. Owens walks back through the crowd and steps into the ring with a mic. He says if Shane thinks this is bad, he hasn’t seen anything yet. Owens says he’s glad their match will be a falls count anywhere match, because he wants to be able to beat Shane inside or outside the cell. He says he’ll grind Shane’s face across the cage until the flesh is ripped off, and he’ll powerbomb him over and over until he forgets his kids’ names. Owens says Shane can forget about jumping off the cell, because on Sunday he’s throwing Shane off the cell, and there’s no getting up this time. As Owens is talking, Shane stumbles back down the steps through the crowd towards the ring. Owens gets out of the ring and hops the guard rail to meet Shane in the crowd and they start brawling again. Shane throws Owens over the fan barricade then hops up on it for a flying clothesline on Owens. They continue to brawl at ringside until Owens throws Shane over the announce table. Owens gets back in the ring, then Shane slowly follows him in. Owens and Shane start fighting in the ring back and forth now. Owens drops Shane with a superkick then steps outside the ring. Owens sees Shane getting up, so Owens gets back in the ring and grabs him. Shane starts fighting back, but Owens drops him again, this time with a head butt. As referees check on Shane, Owens grabs him again and this time he hits the Pop Up Powerbomb. Owens’ theme music hits and he walks to the back as referees check on Shane in the ring.

Bayley Talks About Possible Heel Turn, Her Recent Injury, More

9

Former Raw Women’s Champion Bayley recently spoke with Metro.co.uk to promote the Raw live events in the UK next month. Here are the highlights:

Being frustrated with her latest injury:

“It was hard for me to watch wrestling because I get really anxious whenever I watch matches. If I see something I like I want to practice it and try it myself. This sounds like I’m a loser but when I’m feeling down or I need a bit of motivation I do watch old NXT matches because they have some of my favorite memories as a performer in WWE. I watch a lot of that to put me back on the right mindset – including my match with Nia Jax at NXT Takeover: London. She’s the one I want to get back at, and I defeated her that night! That was a match I watched a few times.”

Possible heel turn:

“It’s something I think about because I know anything is possible when you’re with WWE. I don’t know if I have to go to the dark side, although I do read all the tweets and I do know it’s what the fans are kinda hoping for. As a performer I need to change in the ring, to be a little bit more aggressive and go about things in a different way rather than Bayley following the rules all the time. I might have to bend the rules a little bit to get what I want this time around. I realized when I was out with my injury that I need to go about things differently and not let people push me around so much.”

Stephanie McMahon Teases She Could Face Ronda Rousey In WWE

19

Stephanie McMahon has not forgotten Ronda Rousey getting the best of her at WrestleMania 31 and sounds like she’s looking for revenge.

Rousey most recently appeared at the Mae Young Classic and we certainly have not seen the last of her in a WWE ring. While SmackDown Live star Charlotte has accepted Rousey’s challenge to meet ‘any time, anywhere,’ Stephanie’s name has been in the mix as a potential opponent for Rousey at WrestleMania 34.

TMZ caught up with Stephanie McMahon this week and and asked her about the rumors of Ronda Rousey wrestling for WWE. Stephanie made it clear the door is wide open for Rousey to compete under the WWE banner.

In a direct statement to the former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion, McMahon said, “Ronda, the offer still stands, we would love to have you in WWE.”

When asked if she’d consider being Rousey’s opponent, she said, “anything is possible.”

Sister Abigail’s Identity Possibly Revealed

48

During last night’s (Mon. October 3, 2017) episode of Monday Night RAW, former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt teased finally revealing the identity of Sister Abigail. Wyatt has been referring to Sister Abigail for years in his promos, making WWE fans wonder if we’d ever see her as an actual character on WWE TV. Check out that segment from last night here:

NXT’s Sage Beckett (also known as Rosie Lottalove) posted the following after the segment, teasing that she could be Sister Abigail. She was signed to WWE this past January and even competed in the Mae Young Classic, but was eliminated in the first round of the tournament:

Meanwhile, Mika Rotunda, sister of Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, joked that she woke up to around 150 tweets asking if she’s Sister Abigail.

Shayna Baszler Begins Training At WWE Performance Center

11

Former UFC fighter and Mae Young Classic finalist Shayna Baszler began training full-time at the WWE Performance Center last week, an indication she has officially signed with the company.

During an interview with WWE.com, Baszler said,  “I’m looking forward to getting out there and twisting limbs off and breaking bodies. I can’t wait.”

A member of the ‘MMA Four Horsewomen’ and former training partner of Ronda Rousey, Baszler described WWE as the next step in her progression as a combat athlete.

“It’s very serious to me and, in some ways, a lot more important [than MMA] based on where I come from,” Baszler said. “Waving the banner of my coaches is a heavy flag to wield, so it’s something I take very serious.”

“Because of that, I wanted to start at the beginning and show that I’m willing to start at the bottom and prove myself and work my way up, so there’s no excuse when I get here and I’m breaking these girls in half. I didn’t get any ‘gimmes.'”

WWE TLC Poster Reveals Major Storyline Development

39

For the past several weeks WWE has been teasing the reunion of The Shield (Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose). While the group has yet to reunite officially, a promotional poster for the Tables Ladders and Chairs (TLC) pay-per-view (PPV) gives away the reunion.

It seems as though The Shield will be taking on The Miz, Sheamus, and Cesaro; while the only other match announced for the event is a RAW Women’s Championship match between Alexa Bliss and Mickie James.

TLC will go down live on the WWE Network from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Sunday, October 22nd.

Will Ospreay Served With Cease & Desist Order By WWE, What Happened After RAW

23

– After Monday’s WWE RAW went off the air, the dark match main event saw Finn Balor defeat Bray Wyatt with Coup de Grace.

Wyatt brought a kendo stick and used it on Balor but Balor took it and used it back. Wyatt also brought a table into the ring but Balor kicked Wyatt through it to get the win.

– Curt Hawkins noted on Twitter that he was unable to compete at last night’s RAW as a result of Braun Strowman’s attack last week. It’s probably just an angle, but Hawkins tweeted:

– ROH and NJPW high flyer Will Ospreay, one of the top independent workers in the world, revealed on Twitter that he also got hit with a Cease and Desist order by WWE. Ospreay noted that he’s no longer allowed to use the feline phrases “Paw is War” or “Kitty Style” because they are presumably too similar to WWE trademarks.
