At SummerSlam, Dean Ambrose became the latest Grand Slam champion when he and Seth Rollins captured the RAW Tag Team Championships from Cesaro and Sheamus.
WWE.com defines a Grand Slam champion as, “Superstars who have managed to meet the current set of criteria: Intercontinental Champion, United States Champion, either the Raw (formerly WWE) or SmackDown Tag Team Championship and either active heavyweight title — as in, WWE Championship or, now, the Universal Championship.”
Aside from Ambrose, the other WWE Superstars/legends meeting the criteria include Edge, Big Show, The Miz, Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho.
Reddit user @Ron234 compiled a list of the 11 Superstars that are just one championship away from joining the elusive Grand Slam club.
These are 11 superstars that are 1 Championship away from completing Grand Slam.
Kofi Kingston, Shelton Benjamin and Zack Ryder need to capture the WWE Championship or Universal Championship to qualify
John Cena, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Sheamus need to capture the Intercontinental championship to qualify
Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton and Kane need to capture the United States championship to qualify
Kevin Owens needs to capture either the RAW or SmackDown tag championships to qualify
It’s worth noting that Dolph Ziggler is a former IC and US Champion, but also held the World Heavyweight Championship and the World Tag-Team Championships, which have been retired and do not count towards the updated requirements.
Sexy Star has been pulled from her scheduled meet and greet appearance at the upcoming WrestleCade Weekend convention (November 24-26).
WrestleCade issued a statement on Monday condemning Sexy Star’s actions at this weekend’s AAA TripleMania XXV event (Video).
“There is no place for this in professional wrestling. Therefore we have made the decision NOT to bring Sexy Star to WrestleCade Weekend. We’re sorry for the fans who were looking forward to meeting her but we encourage you to read the reports and we hope you agree with our decision.”
They noted, fans who purchased tickets to meet Sexy Star will be receiving refunds.
It’s also worth noting that the popular Wrestle Circus promotion says they’ve experienced Sexy Star’s unprofessional behavior and “there is no place in our business for her.”
The first four episodes of the inaugural Mae Young Classic women’s tournament are now live on the WWE Network. You can watch them now here. During the first batch of episodes, WWE announced two female competitors (not involved in the tournament) have been signed to developmental deals: Kacy Catanzaro and Shadia Bseiso.
Catanzaro, 27, is an American gymnast who competed on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior series. Hailing from Glen Ridge, New Jersey, she was the first (and so far, only) woman to complete a City Finals obstacle course on the show.
Shadia Bseiso is a Live Events Presenter and Voice-over artist United Arab Emirates. She’s fluent in both English and Arabic, which would make her a valuable player to WWE as they continue to expand in the Middle East. She took part in WWE’s Dubai tryouts and is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu blue belt.
The wrestling world is still reeling from the incident that took place at Saturday night’s AAA TripleMania XXV event between Sexy Star and Rosemary.
For those who haven’t been following the story, Rosemary was injured during Saturday night’s 4-Way match between AAA Reina de Reinas Champion Sexy Star, Rosemary, Ayako Hamada and Lady Shani. During the match, Sexy Star applied an Arm Bar and which appeared to be a shoot and Rosemary’s arm popped out of place.
You can see footage of the incident below. Despite the video’s title, we do not have confirmation that Rosemary’s “arm was broken.”
https://youtu.be/4JR7aD9AEqA
Since then, numerous wrestlers have come out condemning Sexy Star’s reckless behavior and calling for her to be ‘blackballed’ from their locker rooms.
After giving herself some time to reflect, Rosemary issued a statement on Sunday detailing her side of the story.
Here are the latest reactions from WWE agent Brian “Road Dogg” James, ROH World Champion Cody, WWE Superstar Paige and GFW’s EC3 and Grado.
Mike, did that girl really hurt @WeAreRosemary ? Just wondering so I can insure she never works any where near me! #OUDK#POWEROFLOVE

As noted over the weekend, in light of Asuka surrendering the NXT Women’s Championship due to injury, it’s rumored that the winner of the Mae Young Classic will be crowned the new NXT Women’s Champion.
Rosemary was injured during Saturday night’s AAA TripleMania XXV 4-Way match. Sexy Star defended her AAA Reina de Reinas Championship against Rosemary, Ayako Hamada and Lady Shani. During the match, Sexy Star applied an Arm Bar and which appeared to be a shoot and Rosemary’s arm popped out of place. Thankfully, the injury is said to not be serious and Rosemary will not be out of action for long.
Rosemary took to Twitter earlier in the evening and released a statement about the situation:
“Let me make this perfectly clear: if you take liberties with someone’s body when they are giving it to you and trusting you to keep them safe, you are not tough. You are an asshole. And you don’t belong in this business.
Sexy Star decided to do just that this weekend at Triplemania. And while I have remained quiet on social media until I was more calm to address the situation, I have now being informed that she is telling people that it is a work. You are all now being informed that Sexy Star is a liar. She was a liar in the locker room when she was forced to apologize and instead cooked up some bullshit excuse that she ‘didn’t know’ and she is a liar now. You know if you are torquing on someone’s arm.
You know an arm bar is a real and dangerous hold. The only reason your face is not broken right now is because a little voice inside my head as I lay on the apron kept repeating, ‘Don’t go to Mexican prison.’ (thanks Demon).
However, turning to positives, the outreach from the wrestling community has been incredible. I’m overwhelmed with how much love I feel right now from friends, fans, and people I have yet to meet in this amazing business. We are a family and we protect our own. If you violate that, you are not welcome here.
I also want to thank the AAA locker room. Multiple people came up to me saying how sorry and disgusted they were. Thank you Hamada and Shani, who also had to deal with bulls–t from Star during that match. Thank you, Vampiro, for professionally trying to calm a volatile situation, though, as you know, once the excuses started pouring out of Sexy Star’s mouth in lieu of an apology, it was over.
Thank you to the amazing GFW locker room, both present that night and not. I have so much support from everyone, and talent, crew and office have all reached out to show me that.”
We noted before that the now former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka suffered a broken collarbone during her match at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III which forced her to relinquish the belt she held for 500+days.
While William Regal announced that he has started negotiating to send the former champion to the Main Roster, nothing was announced about the faith of the vacated Championship which left fans speculating what’s next. Though now a new report has revealed what the company has planned.
Dave Meltzer discussed this situation during the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed that WWE is planning for the winner of the Mae Young Classic Tournament to be rewarded with the title.
The live final of the Mae Young Classic will take place from Las Vegas on Tuesday, September 12th, following the SmackDown episode scheduled for that day.
As for Asuka, we reported before how WWE is possibly planning for her to join the Raw Brand and make her Main Roster debut at an upcoming PPV
Since capturing the WWE Championship from Randy Orton at Backlash back on May 21st, Jinder Mahal has solidified himself as a bonafide main event player.
Orton has had several chances to reclaim the title. Despite attempts by Orton at Money in the Bank and Battleground, Mahal still escaped as champion. The Modern Day Maharaja picked up a surprising win over Shinsuke Nakamura at SummerSlam (thanks to outside interference from the Singh Brothers).
At last week’s post-SummerSlam edition of SmackDown Live, Nakamura got revenge by defeating the Singh Brothers in a 2-on-1 handicap match. After the match, Nakamura laid out the WWE Champion with a Kinshasa.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer indicated that the current plan for October’s Hell in a Cell pay-per-view main event is for Mahal to defend against Nakamura inside the demonic structure.
Hell in a Cell takes place on October 8th from Detroit, Michigan at the Little Caesars Arena.
Charlotte Flair returned to the ring last night at SmackDown’s live event from Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the Raising Cane’s River Center Arena. She teamed up with Becky Lynch to defeat the team of Lana and Tamina.
Flair noted on Twitter that she’ll be at SmackDown live events from Monroe, Louisiana tonight and Texarkana, Arkansas on Monday ahead of her return to WWE TV at Tuesday’s SmackDown Live from Little Rock, Arkansas.
Charlotte described her little setback as a “setup for a comeback.”

Charlotte last appeared on WWE television on the August 8tg episode of Smackdown Live when she defeated Lana. She then went to China for a WWE promotional tour before taking time off to stay by her father Ric Flair’s side during his recent health crisis.
On a recent episode of their podcast, E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, WWE Hall Of Famer Edge and former World Champion Christian spoke about pro wrestlers using other wrestlers moves. During the discussion, Edge revealed that current and former WWE Superstars, such as Sheamus, have borrowed from his moveset without clearing it with him ahead of time.
“I did that one submission, I think I called it The Edgecator, or The Edgecation, or something, which was kind of like, I looked at it like a reverse Sharpshooter/ankle lock where I could be looking at the back of the head,” he explained. “I think Sheamus has used it since. He didn’t call and ask me. He didn’t text me. I don’t care. Again, I think that’s kind of a tip of the hat.”
‘The Rated R Superstar’ revealed that other wrestlers have also borrowed from him, including former WWE Superstar Damien Sandow.
“I think Sandow used every one of my moves,” said Edge. “And then, when he saw me, he was like, ‘uh, oh yeah, by the way, is that cool?’ And I was like, ‘well, I mean, you’ve already done it, so it’s a little late, but yes, it’s cool.’
“And I like him, so I was just busting his chops. But yeah, I always look at that stuff as a tip of the old hatski.”

WWE Hall Of Famer “Cowboy” Bob Orton Jr., father of current WWE Superstar Randy Orton, recently appeared as a guest on The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast for an interview. Here are some highlights they are some of the highlights.
His recent appearance at the WWE Money In The Bank pay-per-view in the match between his son Randy Orton and WWE Champion Jinder Mahal:
“It was a lot of fun. I didn’t realize they were going to snatch me like that but they did and I got over it. It kind of surprised me with being here at home and everything but the people really enjoyed it and that is the main thing.”
If he was excited to get the call to be a part of a WWE storyline with his son:
“Oh yeah sure, I’ll go every once in awhile but not real often because I just don’t get around the country the way they do of course but when they are in town here I will usually go down and say hi to everybody and stay to watch the matches but not very often. There are also a lot of weekends where I go out and do stuff like what I am doing up there (at Northeast Wrestling) in a couple weeks and I really enjoy that kind of thing because I get to shoot the bull with the wrestling fans and have a good time with it.”
His history and friendship with late WWE Hall Of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper:
“We had trouble in a lot of places and there were a lot of times that I’d say Roddy lets just try to get through these people and we’d be hiding under the bleachers and you couldn’t blame us because the people were nuts. They’ve calmed down now and I don’t think are quite as bad for the fellas and it is good because there are no lawsuits and nobody getting hurt and that is the way it should be. Just riding with Roddy was never a dull moment. He was so entertaining so the trips were pretty quick and listening to him all the way and I really had a great time and probably the best time in my life as far as wrestling is concerned. I really enjoyed that time with Roddy.
“We had met in North Carolina and worked a little bit with each other so it wasn’t anything new but the bodyguard thing was McMahon’s idea (which was great) and it seemed to work pretty good and I enjoyed it but it was because Roddy was so easy to get a long with and just the nicest fella you’d ever want to meet and I still miss him. I miss those phone calls when he’d be on the road doing his schtick with the comedy clubs and he’d call me and we’d talk for an hour or so and he was just a really nice man. A class fella.”
Wrestling the late WWE Hall Of Famer Andre The Giant and Andre’s connection to his family:
“He was whatever he wanted to be. I wrestled Andre in the (Madison Square) Garden and what a nice, nice guy and what a good man. He dated my little sister for four or five years and I really liked Andre but if Andre didn’t want to be moved he wasn’t going anywhere. At the same time he was a gentleman and a professional so you didn’t have to worry about him squashing you too bad and that was good because he certainly could have.”
Whether or not he could out-drink the legendary Andre The Giant:
“Yeah Andre could put away some beer and he you wouldn’t even know he had a beer in his hand because his hands were so big you couldn’t see the can. I only knew if he was drinking or not, Andre drank a lot of beer but a lot of us did and with his size I guess he drank more than me but I’m not sure and it would probably be a pretty good race there because I used to put them away too. Not Roddy so much, I was a Heineken man and I drank a lot of beer. Rowdy drove most of the time so I got to drink and Roddy drove and talked.”

Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight contender and member of Ronda Rousey’s “Four Horsewomen” MMA faction, Shayna Baszler recently spoke with the folks at TV Insider about getting the call to join the innagural “Mae Young Classic” women’s tournament.
“WWE is something I’ve had my eye on,” Baszler said. “After the call, I said to myself, ‘All right, it’s time to get it in gear.’ It fired me up to get into even better shape and get ready to go.”
“The Queen of Spades” also spoke about the rest of the Four Horsewomen MMA faction being present at the Mae Young Classic to show their support for her as she embarked on that endeavor.
The MMA version of the Four Horsewomen stable includes former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir.
“We’re such good friends and training partners and teammates,” Baszler said. “I specifically called all three of them and said, ‘Guys, this is the most important thing I’ve ever done in my combat sports career. I’d love for you guys to be there because you were there at the beginning of all of this, and I would like you to be there for this.’ They were like, ‘Yeah, you got it. We’ll drop whatever we are doing. We’re there.’”
Check out the complete Shayna Baszler interview at TVInsider.com.
Former WWE Champion Sid Vicious recently sat down with Hannibal TV for a shoot interview. During his interview Vicious offered his thoughts on former WWE Universal and United States Champion Kevin Owens. Sid stated that he wasn’t a fan of Owens’ look, weight, and the fact that he wrestles with a shirt on. Vicious noted that Owens being one of the WWE’s top guys must mean business in bad:
“I see people like Kevin Owens and this [Shinsuke Nakamura] guy and these other people like this. I see that and I’m going, ‘Business has got to be bad,” Vicious said. “Or they’re at a point where they don’t care, that’s the only thing I know.”
Sid then went on to praise “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns and said that the former Shield member is ‘light years’ ahead of “KO”:
“I think he’s one of the better talents they’ve got,” Vicious said of Reigns. “He looks credible, he loos good, he’s got a good energy. If we’re gonna compare him to anybody, let’s compare him to the fat guy in a t-shirt Kevin Owens. I think he’s light-years ahead of that guy.”
When asked for his thoughts on current WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, Vicious simply said “I think he’s doing a good job.” Vicious actually wrestled Mahal 10 years ago, however, he has no recollection of that match-up.
The Usos call out Rollins & Ambrose, Rollins responds
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos and RAW Tag Champs Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose have been trading shots at WWE Live Events over the past couple of days. The banter started a few days ago when The Usos responded to the following tweet from WWE:
The Usos then talked some more trash at last night’s SmackDown Live Event in Baton Rouge. The Usos said that Rollins and Ambrose may be the best team on RAW, but The Usos are the best tag team period. The Usos then challenged Ambrose and Rollins to show up to SmackDown as you can see in the following video:
One half of the RAW Tag Team Champions responded to The Usos during last night’s RAW Live Event in Jonesboro. Rollins stated that the real champs are on RAW.
After winning the RAW Tag Team Championship at WWE SummerSlam, Dean Ambrose has made history. Ambrose has now held each of the four major titles in WWE and has become a Grand Slam Champion. The criteria for being a Grand Slam Champion, is to have held the Intercontinental Championship, the United States Championship, either RAW or SmackDown Tag Team Championship and either the WWE or Universal Championship.
Ambrose has been IC Champion, US Champion, RAW Tag Team Champion and WWE Champion. Ambrose joins Edge, Big Show, The Miz, Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho as the only Superstars who have reached that achievement with WWE’s current active titles.

At the end of the match, Sexy Star applied an Armbar Submission and popped Rosemary’s arm out of place while applying the hold. The injury is not expected to keep Rosemary out of action for too long.
Lady Shani and Star were legitimately shooting on each other during the match. It was reported that Star left the arena after the match, but was brought back by Vampiro to apologize to Rosemary. Star then quickly exited the arena again. Shani was reportedly still upset following the match and was looking for Star backstage.

The Pro Wrestling world has taken to Twitter to voice their opinions on the super fight:
Enzo posted a picture of his ticket for the highly touted Floyd Mayweather/Conor McGregor fight yesterday and it showed the astronomical price he paid: $10,000 for the front row. To put this in context some of the boxers on the undercard were paid less that night.
He also posted some pictures with several celebrities during the night, you decide for yourself if these people had any idea who the ‘Certified G’ was:
