Harper & Sin Cara Team Up Again, What Happened After RAW, Cena Video

12

– The conclusion of Monday’s RAW saw Samoa Joe interfere in Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns’ Last Man Standing Match, with Joe choking out Reigns and helping Strowman get the victory after a very physical match. After RAW went off the air, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman had a stare down, but there was no dark match main event after the cameras stopped rolling.

– Saturday’s WWE live event from Montreal, Quebec saw two unlikely tag teams squaring off: Luke Harper & Sin Cara vs. Erick Rowan and Aiden English. The two teams went at it again on Monday night from Kingston, Ontario, with Luke Harper and Sin Cara picking up the win one again. Luke Harper was sporting a new lucha mask on Monday night, a sign that this unlikely pairing might be sticking together for the foreseeable future.

– The Bella Twins’ official YouTube channel added a new video of John Cena doing squats as part of his ‘Hard Nocks South Life’ series.

Samoa Joe On Some People Thinking Brock Lesnar Is Tone-Deaf

6

Former NXT Champion and current WWE Universal Championship contender Samoa Joe is approaching his second shot at the coveted strap. Last month, Joe went one-on-one in the main event of the Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view (PPV) for the Universal strap, however, “The Destroyer” came up just short. He’ll get his second crack at the title at SummerSlam in a Fatal Four-Way match against Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman.

Recently, Joe did an interview with The Mirror to promote SummerSlam and talk about working with Lesnar at Great Balls Of Fire. You can check out some highlights from their conversation here:

At Great Balls of Fire you faced Brock Lesnar in a first-time encounter, which you referred to in advance as a dream match. Aside from the result, did it live up to your expectations?

“Aside from the result, it was every bit the physical encounter I expected it to be. Brock is one of those special athletes, so everything in the ring is elevated to another level with him. I’m a very intense individual and I have no qualms in saying he definitely lives up to his hype as a very intense individual too. It was furious. It definitely lived up to the experience I thought it would be.”

Part of what made it so exciting I think is that you were seen and presented as a genuine threat to Brock, in a way that very few of his opponents are. Fans aren’t used to seeing somebody manhandle him like you did.

“Yeah and it’s also because Brock sees it that way. He knows what I’m capable of and what I can do in the ring. I think there is this false assumption that he’s really tone-deaf to the rest of the world, when really he’s probably, from what I’ve seen of how he has conducted himself, he is probably one of the most savvy businessmen in our industry, if not all combat sports. So he knew what he was getting into, who he was doing it with, and he understood the magnitude of what was going to go down and what kind of threat I presented to him. I think him being convinced if anything was what kind of lent more fire and hyper meaning to the match.”

Seth Rollins On Receiving Movie Advice From Dean Ambrose

WWE Superstar Seth Rollins recently did an interview with USA Today “For The Win” to promote his new movie, Armed Response.

During the interview, Rollins revealed that he had reached out to his fellow Shield member, Dean Ambrose, for advice on the moving making process as “The Lunatic Fringe” starred in 12 Rounds 3: Lockdown back in 2015:

“Neither of us had ever had any aspirations of being in movies or movie stars or anything like that, but he had just gotten off doing his new movie that had come out a year prior,” Rollins said.

“I was just curious to see what the process was like for him, so I could get an idea of anything I needed to do or etiquette-wise how to act or anything that was different from what I normally am used to.”

Cody Rhodes Talks CM Punk’s ‘Pipebomb’ Being A Defining Moment In Wrestling

3

Former WWE Superstar and current Ring Of Honor (ROH) World Heavyweight Champion Cody Rhodes recently did an interview with FOX Sports: Braves to talk about his professional wrestling career. During the interview Rhodes talked about winning the ROH Title, busting his lip open during the match, what the wrestling industry is like today, Dusty Rhodes, and having to compete with Mayweather vs. McGregor. You can check out the highlights right here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zP51oGqTjTo

Winning the ROH Title:

“I think I felt like I’ll definitely be prepared for this moment, I wanted to be the World Champion since I was a little kid, and i was thrown and rattled by a series of events that night, I busted my lip wide open in the first three minutes of the match where it was legit just hanging open.

“We almost went off the air with a decisive conclusion, so here I am going on last, that’s what I always wanted, and i almost take them off the air without there being a winner. I spent my celebratory moments in the hospital where they stitched me up and, and it still hits me every day. Every time I see it and every time people ask at signings or meet and greets, people ask – it’s just a really special feeling and a cool responsibility.”

Busting his lip open during the match:

“I didn’t know. I thought I had just bit my lip or something. I had Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks, he goes ‘Bro, you gotta go to the hospital.’ I said ‘I don’t gotta go to the hospital.’ My wife had a 5 A.M. flight the next morning – so what was meant to be this real celebratory evening kinda turned out to be just business as usual. Hospital trip, snuck back into the room while she was asleep I was like (whispering) ‘Hey, I’m world champion.'”

Today’s professional wrestling industry:

“The business is just in this like, rapid – I envision it as being in this test tube and taking various shapes every hour and you can not predict it anymore. It’s because of guys – I often throw it back to the ‘Pipe Bomb’ promo of CM Punk, being this really defining moment for professional wrestling because it was the first time these streams really crossed. Some of the things he was talking about he had mentioned Ring Of Honor, and then I look at what The Young Bucks have done.

“They’re legitimately not needing WWE. Not being a fan of where they work as much as a fan of themselves as a talent and as a unit. That attitude is kind of caught like wildfire, it has made it the most fun time to be a pro wrestler and a wrestling fan because legitimately anything can happen. I am a free agent. I haven’t signed with Ring Of Honor but I damn sure like, love the Honor brand and I really treasure the responsibility of being its world champion.”

His father, WWE Hall Of Famer Dusty Rhodes:

“The coolest thing about Dusty, my father, is not that he was Dusty, it’s how he was as a father. He’s the type of guy who if you are homeless and came up to him on the street and told him ‘I want to be an astronaut,’ he’d say ‘Cool, we’re gonna get you in astronaut school then, that’ll work. How old are you?’ ‘I’m 47’ ‘Yeah, that’s fine you can be an astronaut.’

“He just – me and my sister were talking about this, almost not logical in his goal setting. He’s ‘The American Dream’ it’s part of his name. Dream is just how he raised is so for me I was very positive it would be positive. I had no clue it would end up like this. I really didn’t, you couldn’t have seen any of this. When we were talking about doing Bound For Glory, ‘Okay, we’ll do Final Battle, and we’ll do Wrestle Kingdom too,’ and in the same year we had done WrestleMania. That’s my favorite statistic is to not rely on brands themselves but to just rely on me. I was positive it would be positive but I had not idea it would turn out like this.”

ROH’s upcoming Atlanta event being the same day as Mayweather vs. McGregor:

“Oh wow. Well, I think you’ll be able to catch both because if we know anything about professional boxing, they will go on deep into the evening. But I have always said this as growing up in the wrestling industry and it being part of my family, when people make that argument about mixed martial arts (MMA), professional boxing, professional sports vs. professional wrestling, I always tell them you can always bet on us because we aim to leave you better off than when we found you.

“There’s always – a show is never left with you lacking. We always want to fill you up and have you ready for the next one, whereas, on occasion, I don’t know if you – I’m a Mayweather fan but if you saw the last Mayweather fight or if you saw the Pacquiao fight at least, it’s like ‘We can wrap this up at any point guys.’ Not with Ring Of Honor, and that’s why I put my bet on them.”

WWE RAW Recap & Reaction (8/7)

10

This week’s episode of WWE RAW kicked off with The Miz, Maryse and the Miztourage in the ring. Miz informed the Toronto crowd that he wasn’t in the mood as they started booing. The Miz demanded that Jason Jordan come down to the ring right now. Miz said that he was sick of being the victim of cheap shots on Miz TV and once again called Jason Jordan down to the ring.

RAW GM Kurt Angle came out to the entrance ramp and the crowd greeted him with “you suck!” chants. Angle informed The Miz that his son Jason Jordan will not be on Miz TV tonight and that he has a match against Jason Jordan. Angle said that he has a big guest lined up for Miz TV and Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman came down to the ring.

Miz TV w/ Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman

The Miz immediately told Paul Heyman to shut up and Miz said that he runs things around here. Miz said that Lesnar is pretty much guaranteed to lose at SummerSlam. The Miz was hiding behind Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel while he poked fun at Lesnar and Heyman. Miz said that if he was a gambling man, he would put his money on any other superstar other than Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. Miz then said that he will be glad to see Brock Lesnar and Heyman leave WWE after SummerSlam.

Paul Heyman asked The Miz and Maryse if they ever role play. Heyman then said that The Miz was Roman Reigns, Bo Dallas was Samoa Joe and that Curtis Axel was Braun Strowman. Heyman then said that Brock Lesnar was going to provide a preview of SummerSlam.

Lesnar then beatdown The Miz, Bo Dallas and The Miz and hit them with several German Suplexes. Lesnar then hit Axel, Dallas and The Miz with an F-5 and celebrated in the ring as the crowd cheered.

Reaction: Brock Lesnar looked like a monster during this segment and it was very entertaining. The crowd reaction for Lesnar and Heyman was great. The Intercontinental Championship feels irrelevant right now when it comes to SummerSlam and whatever buzz there was surrounding Jason Jordan’s announcement a couple weeks back is already frittering away.

Sheamus vs Seth Rollins

Rollins went right after Sheamus when the match started and the action spilled outside the ring. Rollins connected with a Crossbody off the ring apron. Back in the ring, Sheamus connected with an elbow to the chest but Rollins responded with a springboard Clothesline for a two count. Rollins beatdown Sheamus in the corner. Sheamus crotched Rollins on the top rope and then knocked him outside the ring. Cesaro taunted Seth as he was on the floor outside the ring.

Sheamus joined Rollins outside the ring and slammed him in to the ring apron and celebrated with Cesaro as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Sheamus was still control of the match and planted Rollins in the ring. Sheamus went for the Brogue Kick but Rollins ducked and connected with a kick that knocked Sheamus to the mat.

Rollins connected with a Superkick for a two count. Rollins planted Sheamus with a Slingblade and then knocked Cesaro off the ring apron. Seth climbed to the top rope but Cesaro once again distracted Rollins by jumping on the ring apron. Rollins jumped off the turnbuckle and tried to hit Cesaro but Cesaro got out of the way. Sheamus then rolled up Rollins for the victory.

After the match, Rollins went for a Suicide Dive onto both Sheamus and Cesaro but they were ready. Sheamus and Cesaro beatdown Rollins for a couple of minutes as the crowd chanted “we want Ambrose!”. Ambrose never came down to the ring and Rollins got his ass kicked by Sheamus and Cesaro.

Winner: Sheamus

Rollins was shown backstage with Dean Ambrose. Rollins asked Ambrose what he has to do to prove to him that he is not the same guy that he was three years ago when he turned his back on The Shield. Ambrose said that he is not getting burned by Rollins again and that he will go into his match against Cesaro later tonight on his own.

Jason Jordan vs Jean-Pierre Goulet

Jordan was supposed to face Curtis Axel tonight but Axel was unable to compete due to Lesnar beating him down earlier in the show.

Jordan dominated this match as the crowd chanted “lets go jobber!”. The crowd roared as Goulet connected with an elbow. Jordan got pissed off and planted him with a Neckbreaker for the victory as the crowd booed.

Winner: Jason Jordan

Reaction: The crowd has already completely turned against Jason Jordan. I hope that is what WWE wants. I’m not sure what they want the reaction to be right now from the WWE Universe. I don’t find this storyline interesting at all. Jason Jordan is Kurt Angle’s “son” and he defeats jobbers. Who cares?

Bayley was interviewed in the ring about not being able to compete at WWE SummerSlam due to her shoulder injury. Bayley wished Sasha Banks luck as the crowd didn’t seem to care at all what Bayley had to say.

Sasha Banks vs Emma vs Alicia Fox

Banks launched Emma out of the ring and Fox kicked Sasha in the face for a two count. Fox controlled the next couple minutes of the match. Emma knocked Fox to the mat and Sasha came flying in with a knee to Emma’s face. Sasha connected with Double Knees to Alicia Fox. Emma threw Sasha out of the ring and went for the pinfall but Alicia kicked out at two. Sasha dragged Emma out of the ring and punched her in the face. Back in the ring, Sasha applied the Bank Statement to Alicia Fox. Emma got into the ring and broke up the hold but Sasha locked her in the Bank Statement for the submission victory.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Braun Strowman was interviewed backstage by Renee Young. Strowman stated that he loved inflicting pain on Roman Reigns and that he was looking forward to their Last Man Standing match later tonight.

Enzo and Big Show cut a promo in the ring but were quickly interrupted by Gallows and Anderson. They challenged Enzo and Big Show to a match.

Big Show & Enzo vs Gallows & Anderson

Big Show leveled Gallows with a Clothesline and RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Big Cass came down to the entrance ramp and Big Show was distracted. Gallows leveled Big Show with a big boot and knocked him off the ring apron. Anderson connected with a kick to Enzo’s face to win the match.

After the match, Cass connected with a boot to Big Show’s face and then beat him down outside the ring. Enzo connected with a Suicide Dive onto Big Cass but Cass got right up and launched Enzo into the barricade. Big Show hit Big Cass with a KO Punch and then celebrated with Enzo

Winners: Gallows & Anderson

Reaction: I’m looking forward to the Big Cass and Big Show feud ending at SummerSlam. It is just the same thing every week and there is not an exciting or original thing about it.

Finn Balor came down to the ring to cut a promo on Bray Wyatt. The lights went out in the arena and Bray appeared in the ring. Balor was on the top rope when the lights came back on. Balor planted Wyatt with a Slingblade and the lights went out again. Wyatt appeared on the jumbotron and laughed at Balor.

Cesaro vs Dean Ambrose

The match started out back and forth. Ambrose planted Cesaro with a Superplex. Cesaro hit Ambrose with a Powerslam. Ambrose went for a Suicide Dive onto Cesaro outside the ring but Cesaro was ready for it. Cesaro hopped up onto the ring apron and struck Ambrose with an Uppercut. Back in the ring, Sheamus distracted Ambrose while he was going for Dirty Deeds. Cesaro then knocked him to the mat and applied the Sharpshooter.

Ambrose powered his way to the bottom rope to break the hold. Ambrose launched Cesaro out of the ring and then connected with a flying elbow as he was outside the ring. Back in the ring, Sheamus once again tried to distract Ambrose but it didn’t work this time. Ambrose rolled up Cesaro for the victory.

After the match, Sheamus and Cesaro beatdown Ambrose. Seth Rollins came down to the ring to help Ambrose. Sheamus and Cesaro retreated. Ambrose held out his fist but Rollins shook his head and walked away.

Winner: Dean Ambrose

Reaction: Cesaro and Ambrose had a very good match. I didn’t think I would get this invested in the Rollins and Ambrose storyline, but I find it to be one of the more entertaining parts of RAW every week.

Ariya Daivari vs Akira Tozawa

Titus O’Neil joined commentary for this match. The match was back and forth early, but Tozawa quickly got the upper-hand and connected with the Senton Bomb for the victory.

Winner: Akira Tozawa

Nia Jax vs Mickie James vs Dana Brooke

Nia started out the match in control. Mickie and Dana tried to team up but Nia launched Mickie into Dana. Nia charged at them both in the corner and missed. Nia slammed into the ring post and fell to the floor outside the ring. Mickie and Dana then traded punches in the ring as Sasha Banks watched the match backstage.

Nia got back into the ring and threw Mickie to the outside. Dana hopped up on Nia’s back but Nia fought her off and slammed her to the mat. Nia then connected with a Leg Drop for the victory.

Nia Jax will now face Sasha Banks next week on RAW to determine who will face Alexa Bliss at WWE SummerSlam for the RAW Women’s Championship.

Winner: Nia Jax

A Goldust vignette was shown. Goldust stated that he will be watching very closely in the next couple of weeks leading up until SummerSlam for his next hero, victim or starlet.

Big Cass asked RAW GM Kurt Angle for a match against Big Show at WWE SummerSlam. Cass said that he wanted Enzo Amore suspended in a cage above the ring. Angle said that he liked the sound of that and made the match.

Last Man Standing Match: Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns

Strowman started off the match in control and beatdown Reigns in the ring. Roman fought back and connected with a right hand but Strowman immediately knocked him back down. Strowman then leveled Reigns with a shoulder tackle that sent Reigns out of the ring. RAW went to a commercial break with Strowman in complete control of the match.

When RAW returned, Strowman was still in control and he threw the steel steps in the ring. Reigns connected with a Clothesline but Strowman didn’t fall down. Reigns beatdown Strowman in the corner as the crowd booed. Roman booted Strowman in the face and then grabbed the steel steps. Reigns struck Strowman with the steps and Braun fell to a knee.

Braun got back up and Reigns hit him again with the steps. Strowman fell to the mat and and Reigns hit him a couple of times with the steps. Reigns then threw the steps out of the ring as the referee started counting. Reigns went for the Superman Punch but Braun caught him. Reigns once again went for the Superman Punch but Strowman got out of the way and Reigns went flying into the turnbuckle. Strowman then picked Reigns up and awkwardly slammed him to the mat. Reigns got back up to his feet before the referee counted him out.

Reigns connected with a Superman Punch as Strowman was lifting Reigns in the air. Reigns geared up for the Spear but Strowman connected with a Dropkick as Reigns ran at him. Strowman was the first to his feet and charged at Reigns in the corner. Reigns ducked out of the way and Strowman slammed into the ring post and fell out of the ring.

Reigns connected with the Drive By as Strowman was leaning up against the ring apron. Roman pulled out a table from under the ring and slid it into the ring. Reigns went for another Drive By but Strowman hit him with a Clothesline while Reigns was in midair. Back in the ring, Strowman set up the table as Reigns regrouped in the corner.

Roman lifted Strowman up on his shoulders and slammed him through the table with a Samoan Drop. The action spilled out of the ring and Reigns started running at Strowman as he was in the timekeeper’s area. Strowman whipped a computer chair at Reigns’ face and knocked him to the floor.

Strowman and Reigns then battled through the crowd to the announce table on the entrance ramp. Reigns bounced Strowman’s head off the announce table and then hit him with another Drive By on the entrance ramp. Strowman launched Reigns into the screen on the entrance ramp. Roman got back up but Strowman drove him into the screen once again.

Reigns connected with two Superman Punches and went for a Spear but Strowman booted him in the face. Reigns then sprinted down the entrance ramp and connected with a massive Spear onto Strowman. Reigns was the first to his feet but Samoa Joe was in the crowd and locked in the Coquina Clutch onto Reigns. Strowman then got up and won the match as Reigns was knocked out via the Coquina Clutch.

Winner: Braun Strowman

Reaction: Tonight’s main-event was very entertaining. I cannot wait for the Fatal-Way at SummerSlam for the Universal Championship. Overall, RAW was very mediocre tonight. The opening segment, Ambrose versus Cesaro and the main-event were entertaining. The rest of the show was very boring and that’s disappointing because SummerSlam is less than two weeks away. I was hoping for something more out of this show. Instead, it was just another formulaic episode of RAW with a couple of entertaining segments.

What did you think of this week’s episode of RAW? Let us know in the comments below.

WWE RAW Results & Live Discussion (8/7)

The August 7th edition of WWE RAW aired live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario Canada.

– RAW stars off with The Miz and the Miztourage in the ring for Miz TV. Kurt Angle quickly interrupts and says he’s got a guest for Miz TV that will exceed expectations. With that, out comes the WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman! Lesnar and Heyman come out to the ring as the Toronto crowd chants “ECW.” The Miz says he’s going to bet on everyone except Lesnar in the SummerSlam main event, because there’s no way he’ll win since he doesn’t even need to be in the ring to lose the title. Heyman says they’re going to do some roleplaying: The Miztourage will play Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe, and Braun Strowman; and Lesnar will play himself. Heyman says Lesnar is going to give a preview of the SummerSlam main event, and Lesnar stays laying out all three Mizoutrage members. Lesnar suplexes Miz then hits an F-5 on him and clears the ring. Lesnar holds up his Universal Title in the ring as The Miztourage recovers on the floor.

Sheamus def. Seth Rollins: Rollins takes Sheamus down right off the opening bell and stomps a mudhole in him. Sheamus rolls outside and Rollins goes for a suicide plancha, but Sheamus catches him in mid-air. Rollins fights out of Sheamus’ grip and hits a flying clothesline off the apron onto Sheamus on the floor. Sheamus turns it around back in the ring, then when things spill outside again he slams Rollins into the corner of the apron. Back in the ring, Rollins tries to fire up but Sheamus drops him with an elbow to the head then starts the Ten Beats of the Baron. Sheamus stops after a couple hits, then takes Rollins back inside for a rolling senton. Sheamus misses the big boot and Rollins hits him with a superkick. Sheamus answers with a knee to the face, and Rollins drops Sheamus with a spinning kick to the head. Rollins charges at Sheamus but Sheamus fends him off with a boot to the face. Sheamus goes up to the middle rope and Rollins takes him down with a Franakensteiner. Rollins follows up with a superkick for a two count. Rollins goes up top but gets distracted by Cesaro on the way down. Sheamus rolls up Rollins from behind for the three count to steal the win. After the match, Rollins hits a suicide dive on Cesaro at ringside, but the numbers game isn’t in his favor as Cesaro and Sheamus team up to beat down. They take Rollins back in the ring and hit the double team White Noise. Sheamus and Cesaro head back up the ramp with their Tag Team Titles in the air.

– Michael Cole promotes tonight’s Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman.

– Seth Rollins is backstage selling the beatdown from Sheamus and Cesaro, and he walks into Dean Ambrose. Rollins yells at Ambrose for not having his back, and Ambrose says he’s not going to trust him again because he doesn’t forget what Rollins did to him in the Shield.

– Curtis Axel is backstage getting checked out by trainers with Kurt Angle watching on. Angle says Axel has a match with Jason Jordan next but can’t compete, so Jordan needs a new opponent. Angle grabs a random wrestler in the back, who seems to be a local wrestler. Angle sends him out and we have a match.

Jason Jordan def. Jean-Pierre Goulet: Goulet gets some “lets go jobber” chants from his hometown crowd early on. It’s all Jordan until Goulet hits an elbow to the face then a punch. Jordan no-sells them and comes back with more suplexes and a suplex into a neckbreaker for the win.

– Bayley comes out to the ring with her arm in a sling for an interview. Bayley says she wants to thank the fans who were Tweeting her with messages of support regarding her injury, and the crowd starts booing. Bayley says she wants to thank the ones who Tweeted her and not the ones who are booing her, which gets her even more boos. Bayley says she predicts that Sasha Banks will win the Women’s Title, and with that Banks comes out to the ring and hugs Bayley. The first qualifying match for the Women’s title match at SummerSlam is up next.

Sasha Banks def. Alicia Fox & Emma: Alexa Bliss is on commentary for this one. This one is a triple threat match with no DQ’s and no countouts. Sasha throws Emma outside early on, then Alicia hits a big boot on Sasha for a two count. Sasha comes back with some kicks of her own on Alicia, then Emma pulls Sasha outside and slams Sasha into the ring apron. Emma gets back in the ring and Alicia catches her with a Northern Lights Suplex. Emma comes back with a kick, then Sasha runs back in the ring and knees Emma in the face. Sasha hits some running knee strikes on Alicia and Emma in the corner. Sasha hits a double knee drop on Alicia then pins, but Emma breaks up the pin and throws Sasha outside. Emma works on Alicia until Sasha pulls Emma outside. Sasha drops Emma with an elbow, then rolls back in. Alicia goes for a kick but Sasha dodges it and hits the back stabber. Sasha locks Alicia in the Banks Statement, but Emma breaks it up. Banks puts Emma in the Banks Statement next, and Emma taps out.

– Braun Strowman does an interview in the back where he says he enjoys hurting Roman Reigns. Strowman says when he’s around, the big dog is nothing more than a puppy. Ambrose says at SummerSlam he will be the only monster standing, and will become the Universal Champion.

– Enzo Amore comes out to the ring and introduces The Big Show. Enzo talks up Big Show, then Show gets on the mic and says that his fist can’t take all the credit for last week because Cass’ chin was real soft. As Big Show is talking, they get interrupted by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. Anderson says they shouldn’t be in the ring celebrating because they haven’t won anything. They say if they want a challenge, they’re right here. They call Big Show and Cass nerds, and Enzo says they look like Dr. Evil and Mini-Me. With that, we have a match.

Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows def. Big Show & Enzo Amore: Big Show drops Gallows and Anderson to start off, then Enzo tags in. Gallows takes control against Enzo, until Big Show tags back in. Cass comes out to the stage and distracts Big Show, which allows Gallows to hit the big boot on a distracted Big Show. Big Show falls to the outside, and Gallows and Anderson beat down Enzo in the ring then pin him for the finish. After the match, Gallows and Anderson head to the back while Cass comes down to the ring. Cass hits a big boot on Big Show at ringside. – Over the weekend, WWE.com published a feature looking at MMA fighters who have stepped inside a WWE ring. UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Cris Cyborg took notice and told Triple H that he can’t hide Becky Lynch forever. The two are rumored to have a segment together at SummerSlam and interestingly, Cyborg used the hashtag #SummerSlam in her tweet.

SmackDown Superstar Baron Corbin has new entrance music. Mr. Money in the Bank’s new theme song premiered over the weekend at WWE’s live event from Ottowa:

Corbin still holds the Money in the Bank contract that guarantees him a shot at the WWE Championship at a time of his choosing. As of this writing, he’s not booked for SummerSlam.

Scott Dawson Injured, Could Be Out Several Months

24

Following the news that Bayley’s separated shoulder will prevent her from competing at SummerSlam, another RAW superstar is dealing with an ailment that will affect WWE’s plans for the upcoming pay-per-view.

Scott Dawson of The Revival suffered a ruptured biceps tendon over the weekend and may require surgery. He appeared at Saturday night’s WWE live event with the arm heavily bandaged. A torn bicep has an estimated recovery time of three to six weeks. If it requires surgery, Dawson would miss around four to six months.

Its another major setback for The Revival. The duo was sidelined for several months earlier this year when Dash Wilder fractured his jaw.

It was looking like Dash & Dawson would be working with The Hardy Boyz and Gallows & Anderson at SummerSlam, but their involvement now seems unlikely.
