Roman Reigns Schools Fans On Twitter Who Say He Sucks & Didn’t Earn His Spot

29

Roman Reigns shut down a “wrestler in training” who was talking trash about him on Twitter.

Over the weekend, a fan replied to a tweet from WWE saying “Roman can’t wrestle.” A Roman Reigns fan account defended him, which led to self proclaimed “Future pro wrestler, currently in training” Ian Porter chiming in, saying Roman sucks because ‘he’ll only use 4 actual wrestling moves’ in a 30 minute match.

Reigns caught wind of the exchange and delivered a harsh dose of reality to Porter. You can check out the full exchange below:

Another Twitter user told Reigns that his “sorry ass” was “handed” a spot in the main events because of his family’s legacy. In response to the claim he didn’t earn his spot in WWE, Reings wasn’t having it.

Main Event Taping Results

  2. Ariya Davairi defeated Gran Metalik
Metalik is on a real losing streak, having dropped his last 4 televised matches, 3 on Main Event, and 2 on 205 Live.

Dash Wilder Cleared to Return to the Ring

9

It looks as though the ‘top guys’ will no longer be out. Dash Wilder of the Revival has been cleared to return to the ring, according to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet.

Wilder fractured his jaw back in April during an NXT match and it was reported that he would be out for anywhere up to 6 weeks, it looks as though that time frame was accurate.

Wilder met with WWE officials this week and was given the green light to return to action. Hopefully he and Dawson can now hit the ground running on RAW.

Chris Jericho Talks Trashing Hotel Catering Room With Metal Band After WWE Show in Germany

5

WWE Superstar Chris Jericho joined Rock 100.5 ATL’s Bailey And Southside to talk about his recent run with WWE, as well as share some great stories from his time with the company. You can check out what the former WWE Champ had to say here below:

WWE fans always knowing when he’s traveling:

“It always freaks me out whenever you fly to a town, right, specifically with [pro] wrestling, you’ll fly somewhere and you’ll get to, like, Peoria, Illinois, you get off the plane and there’s like a gaggle of fans there waiting for you. They want an autograph, ‘sign my picture,’ ‘sign my action figure,’ whatever. And I’m always like, ‘how do you guys know what flight I’m on?’ This is not a group flight. Like, I missed my flight and I had to get another one and I had to go through whatever and there [are] still the same people there.” Jericho added, “somewhere out there, there’s some kind of a stooge that’s giving out what flight number I’m on.”

Mark Henry sneaking into his hotel room and scaring him:

“When the guy came and got me, it was Jeff Jarrett that came to knock on my door, like, ‘come on, we’ve got to watch this,’ I left the little thing in the door, so the door was open. The little key lock. Yeah, so when I go back in my room, the lights are all off and I’m like, ‘what the hell happened? Like, I didn’t leave the lights off.’ So I’m walking in there and as I’m walking towards the light switch, I get attacked by this giant bear!

“And this guy takes me down and I’m like, screaming so scared, ‘ahh, ahh, ahh’ and all I see are these big, white eyes. And then, I hear the laughter and it’s Mark Henry, who’s super African-American, dark. He’s super dark, super big. So in the dark, he was even darker and he went and hid in there and then attacked me as I went in the room and started laughing. We still laugh to this day.”

Trashing a hotel catering area with the metal band Anthrax:

“We were in Nuremberg, Germany a couple of months ago and we just happened to be in the same hotel as Anthrax. They had the day off, so they came to our show. And then, afterwards, you have catering after a wrestling show. When we’re done, we go back to the hotel and have catering. So I started having some cocktails with Frankie [Bello] and Jon [Donais] from Anthrax, which led to a complete trashing of the catering room at about 6 in the morning to where nobody could eat breakfast there.

“They had to move catering. Like Rusev is down there, like Cesaro is down there, ‘we want breakfast. The catering was trashed. We have to go upstairs. Who did that?’ ‘Anthrax. Freaking Anthrax, man. It’s Anthrax’s fault.’ It was more my fault than anything, but I just blamed them, ‘you know those Anthrax guys are crazy!'”

Ring Of Honor Star Teases Involvement in Mae Young Classic

1

Current Ring Of Honor (ROH) star Kelly Klein recently did an interview with Interactive Wrestling Radio’s James Walsh, Patrick Kelley, and Scott Vodrey to talk about a variety of professional wrestling topics. During her appearance, Klein was asked about the possibility of getting involved with the WWE’s Mae Young Classic tournament.

Here’s what she had to say:

Thoughts on the Mae Young classic:

“When you look at other things outside of wrestling, at history. The person who writes the history book is always the winner. The person with more money behind them and more exposure is going to claim that,” Klein explained.

If WWE or Impact started the women’s revolution:

“I think the WWE has done and is doing great things for the women’s revolution. But, at this point, I think it is more a collaborative effort. There are so many women who are training and excelling now in the lower levels of wrestling and a lot of that is because they see there is a payoff, there is a place for them. Whereas, 10 years ago, when I was starting, there were very limited roles. That was when the Knockouts started. There were more roles and that was a big deal.”

TNA Knockouts’ impact on the women’s revolution:

“As far as starting it, I think that the Knockouts really had a huge role in that.” Klein said. “It is kind of funny, in a way. Even though there are more spots available, there are more women going for those spots. We do have to be working even harder and be at the top of our game. I love it because it creates competition among us and within ourselves to be the best.”

Possibly commentating for the Mae Young Classic:

“I am just going to say that I would always consider any opportunity. Every opportunity has many, many variables… many seen and man unforeseen. I am not one who would ever say I would never do this or never work for this place. Every opportunity is different and has to be considered individually.”

Justin Roberts Compares Working With WWE to a ‘Very Abusive Marriage’

5

Former WWE ring announcer Justin Roberts recently spoke to the Daily Herald in Illinois about his time with the WWE in order to promote his new book, “Best Seat in the House: Your Backstage Pass Through my WWE Journey.” You can check out what he had to say here:

His time in WWE:

“It’s a love story, in a weird way. Like, my marriage to WWE. My very abusive marriage,” he said.

JBL bullying him:

“A lot of people in the company, the upper management, have a bully mentality,” Roberts said. “I hope in speaking out, and being honest, it makes a difference. I hope (WWE) becomes a better place for the people there now. I spoke out not to go after the company, but to bring awareness to certain issues.”

If he’d ever return to the company:

“Absolutely not. I was able to live my dream. I couldn’t even fathom this as a kid. I had a good run … but I wasn’t treated well by upper management and I wouldn’t want to put myself through that again.”

Eric Bischoff on Why He’s Happy For Samoa Joe’s WWE Success

11

Former Impact Wrestling star and former NXT Champion Samoa Joe has found a tremendous amount of success since making his main roster debut in the WWE. Joe won a Fatal Five-Way Match against Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and Bray Wyatt in the main event of Extreme Rules earlier this month, and became the new No. 1-contender for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Universal Championship.

Joe has done plenty of people proud since jumping up to Monday Night RAW, and that includes former WCW President Eric Bischoff who took to his podcast, Bischoff on Wrestling, to comment on “The Destroyer’s” newfound success. Bischoff stated that he ‘loves’ the decision to put Joe against Lesnar at Great Balls Of Fire, and wishes him nothing but the best:

“Love it. Joe is one of the coolest people I know. I saw Joe at WrestleMania a couple months ago and I just couldn’t be happier. That’s all. I couldn’t be happier. It warms my heart in such a great way. He’s such a good guy and such a talented guy. He’s stuck it out and put up with so much crap. People saying, “Bro! You’re too fat, bro! You’ll never get over, bro!” He’s emerged. He took all the criticism. He’s an amazing talent and, God, I just wish him the best.”

WWE RAW Recap & Reaction (6/12)

20

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar kicked off this week’s episode of RAW and came down to the ring with Paul Heyman. Heyman took several shots at Samoa Joe and called him the one Samoan in the wrestling business that hasn’t really accomplished that much. Heyman stated that Samoa Joe’s greatest accomplishment in his career was applying the Coquina Clutch to him last week. Heyman claimed that Samoa Joe is a punk and will never be able to get Lesnar in the Coquina Clutch.

Samoa Joe stormed the ring and attacked Lesnar. Joe and Lesnar started brawling and RAW GM Kurt Angle called out security. Lesnar took out all the security guards and Angle waved all the Superstars from the back to come out. The Superstars came down to the ring and seperated Lesnar and Joe. Samoa Joe was able to connect to Lesnar’s face that knocked him to the mat. Lesnar got up and once again attacked Joe on the entrance ramp. The two were separated again by WWE Superstars as the crowd chanted “this is awesome!”.

Reaction: Heyman cut a decent promo here, but the brawl between Joe and Lesnar is what made this segment great. It is just an awesome sight to see Lesnar and Joe face-to-face. The crowd is already into this feud and it should lead to an energetic atmosphere at Great Balls of Fire. This match has that “big match feel” and I really hope it lives up to the hype.

Elias Samson performed another song in the ring that insulted the crowd in attendance. Samson asked the crowd “who wants to walk with Elias?” and the crowd booed. During the song, Samson also poked fun at Ambrose and Dean interrupted him before he could finish performing.

Dean Ambrose vs Elias Samson

The crowd chanted “Ambrose!” as the two Superstars locked up to start the match. Ambrose connected with an elbow and Samson rolled out of the ring as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Samson was in control of the match and beatdown Ambrose in the corner.

Samson locked Ambrose in a Chin Lock for a couple of minutes. Chants of “you can’t wrestle” and “you can’t sing” broke out as Ambrose finally fought out of the hold. Ambrose and Samson traded chops. Ambrose got the upper-hand and planted Samson with a Fisherman’s Suplex for a two count.

Samson booted Ambrose in the face but was quickly knocked out of the ring by Ambrose. Dean connected with a Suicide Dive onto Samson outside the ring and knocked him into the barricade. The action returned to the ring and Ambrose climbed the turnbuckle. Samson met him up there and connected with a couple right hands.

Ambrose headbutted Samson of the turnbuckle and The Miz sprinted to the ring. Miz got up on the ring apron and distracted Ambrose. Samson tried to capatilize on the distraction with a roll-up but Ambrose kicked out at two. Dean then leveled Samson with a Lunatic Lariat and exited the ring.

Ambrose stalked Miz outside the ring and then slammed him into the barricade. Ambrose then argued with Maryse as the referee was counting. Ambrose tried to get back into the ring but Samson jumped on top of him. Samson then planted Ambrose with the Swinging Neckbreaker for the victory.

Winner: Elias Samson

Reaction: The ending to this match seemed very disoriented. When Ambrose  got back into the ring, he had to pause motionless on the mat for a second because Samson wasn’t ready to jump onto him. It felt like Ambrose was outside the ring arguing with Maryse and chasing around The Miz for an eternity. It just didn’t come off well at all. Having said that, I do find Elias Samson entertaining. His performances before matches get a great negative reaction from the crowd.

Goldust cut a promo on R-Truth in another vignette.

The Miz and RAW GM Kurt Angle had an argument backstage. The Miz suggested that Angle fire or suspend Dean Ambrose. Angle then told Miz that if he had an issue with Ambrose, he should handle it himself. During this promo, The Miz also said that Angle should spend more time focusing on RAW than his personal problems. Angle asked Miz what he knew about his personal problems, but Miz didn’t answer the question.

Noam Dar was on Facetime with Alicia Fox. Cedric Alexander showed up and said that he was done with Dar and Fox. Dar and Alexander will fight next on RAW.

Cedric Alexander vs Noam Dar

Noam Dar came down to the ring with Alicia Fox still on Facetime. The two argued and Fox was also shown on the jumbotron. Dar finally put down the phone and the match started. Alexander hit the Lumbar Check right away for the victory.

Winner: Cedric Alexander

Reaction: This was absolutely horrible. I felt embarrassed and uncomfortable for everyone involved in this.

Bray Wyatt came down to the ring and cut a promo on Seth Rollins. Wyatt threatened Rollins and stated that if he takes his name in vein, he will fall. Wyatt bragged about costing Rollins his match last week against Samoa Joe. Rollins came down to the ring and once again called Wyatt a false prophet.

Rollins called Wyatt a coward and dared Bray to prove him wrong. Bray laughed and called Rollins arrogant. Wyatt stated that when he looks at Rollins, all he sees is a man that is beneath him. The lights went out in the arena and Bray Wyatt appeared on the jumbotron. Wyatt told Rollins to “run” and the segment ended.

Reaction: The crowd was pretty much silent during this promo. There were a few “JoJo” chants but mostly people just sat there. I think both Rollins and Wyatt are very talented, but I just don’t care about this feud at all.

The following video was shown to promote John Cena returning to SmackDown Live on July 4th. In the video, John Cena is referred to as a “free agent”.

Apollo Crews vs Kalisto

Titus O’Neil accompanied Crews to the ring. Akira Tozawa was in the front row watching the match. O’Neil is trying to recruit him to the Titus Brand.

Crews hit a Powerbomb for the victory and Tozawa cheered from the front row. O’neil then grabbed Tozawa in the front row and brought him in the ring. Crews and O’Neil then raised his hand and took a selfie with him.

Winner: Apollo Crews

Rhyno and Slater were shown eating cheese and crackers backstage. The Miz showed up and asked Heath Slater to join his entourage. Slater then said he wanted a shot at the Intercontinental Championship. The Miz said he would get a shot at his title some day if he joined him. Rhyno then told Miz to go find a tag partner because he wants a tag match tonight. Rhyno then sprayed a ridiculous amount of cheese onto his crackers as Slater stared at Miz’s Intercontinental Championship.

Alexa Bliss came down to the ring to cut a promo. Bliss was quickly interrupted by Nia Jax. Nia made her way to the ring and got right in Alexa’s face. Bliss said that their RAW Women’s Championship match was ruined ruined last week by Dana Brooke and Mickie James. Mickie and Dana interrupted and came down to the ring.

Mickie and Dana poked holes in Alexa’s story and reminded Nia that Alexa tried to turn everyone against her last week. Emma then interrupted and joined the party. Emma stated that she was back to take her rightful place at the top of the women’s division. Sasha Banks then came down to the ring and the crowd chanted “Sasha!”.

Banks said that all Bliss wants to do is come down to the ring and talk. Banks then hit Bliss with the microphone and a brawl broke out as RAW went to a commercial break.

Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax & Emma vs Sasha Banks, Mickie James & Dana Brooke

Bliss beatdown Dana Brooke to start off the match. Emma then entered the match and continued to beat the hell out of Dana Brooke. Eventually, Dana was able to tag in Sasha Banks. Sasha attacked Emma but was knocked to the mat by an elbow to the face. Emma tried to tag in Alexa Bliss but Alexa left the ring and walked up the entrance ramp. Nia Jax charged at Mickie but missed and fell out of the ring. Mickie then climbed to the top turnbuckle and leaped onto Nia Jax outside the ring. Back in the ring, Sasha applied the Bank Statement for the victory.

Winners: Sasha Banks, Mickie James & Dana Brooke

Corey Graves sat down with Bayley in a pre-taped interview. Bayley said that she was in the WWE to put smiles on faces and not bruises on backs in reference to getting dismantled in the Kendo Stick on a Pole match at Extreme Rules. Bayley said that she is not going to change who she is. Graves asked what the future holds for Bayley and Bayley stated that she wants to be the best. Bayley said that she wants to recapture the RAW Women’s Championship. The interview then ended with Bayley hugging Corey Graves.

Reaction: WWE has done the impossible and has made Bayley completely unlikable. It is remarkable how terrible of a job they have done with Bayley’s character on the main roster. I wouldn’t be surprised if she starts getting booed on a regular basis.

Heath Slater & Rhyno vs The Miz & The Bear

The bear that Miz hit with a Skull Crushing Finale turned out to be Miz’s partner. Slater and Rhyno beatdown Miz for several minutes. The Bear then tagged himself in and got in Slater’s face. Heath tried to rip of the head of the costume and The Bear pawed Slater in the face. The Bear then applied a Bear Hug to Slater and Rhyno got into the ring and broke it up.

The Bear then tagged in Miz and rolled out of the ring. The Miz then attacked The Bear and slammed him into the barricade. Miz removed the head of the costume and it wasn’t Dean Ambrose. Back in the ring, another Bear got in the ring and hit the Dirty Deeds onto Slater. Ambrose then charged at Miz and Miz bumped into Maryse on the ring apron. Ambrose then planted Miz with a Dirty Deeds and dragged Slater on top of him for the victory.

After the match, Ambrose then put the bear head on The Miz and left the ring.

Winners: Heath Slater & Rhyno

Reaction: The only reason that I can come up with for this show being this bad is that WWE realized that they were going up against Game 5 of the NBA Finals and decided to take a week off. Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe kicked off the show and that aired before Game 5 began. The show was pretty much over right there. The rest of tonight’s show has been a waste of everyone’s time.

https://twitter.com/HEEL_TEM/status/874447767984373760

Rich Swann vs Neville

Swann danced his way to the ring and Neville attacked him before the match started. Neville slammed him into the barricade and brought him back into the ring. Neville then applied the Rings of Saturn for a bit and the referee finally got him to release the hold.

Neville then grabbed a microphone and said “Austin Aries, TJP and now Richard Swann… get out of my ring!” and then booted Swann out of the ring. Neville then told Akira Tozawa to tread carefully or Neville will force him to bow before the King of the Cruiserweights.

Big Cass was shown backstage laying on the ground and was apparently attacked again. The Revival was shown walking behind Cass. Gallows and Anderson then cut a promo making fun of Cass in the ring.

Enzo & Cass vs Gallows & Anderson

Cass said he wanted to be in the match, even though he was attacked backstage. Cass beatdown Anderson to start out the match but was still feeling the effects of the backstage attack. Cass planted Anderson with a Side Slam and then connected with an Empire Elbow.

Enzo was then tagged in and he was booted in the face by Anderson. Cass was struggling to get back to his feet outside the ring. Enzo wanted to tag him but Cass was still on the floor outside the ring. Gallows and Anderson then hit the Magic Killer for the victory.

After the match, Gallows and Anderson went for another Magic Killer on Enzo but the Big Show came out to make the save. Gallows and Anderson retreated as Big Show helped Enzo up. Cass then angrily looked on as Big Show raised Enzo’s hand.

Winners: Gallows & Anderson

Reaction:  Unless you are a massive Enzo & Cass fan, I don’t understand how you’d still care about who is attacking them. The storyline is moving incredibly slow and has become boring.

R-Truth responded to Goldust’s vignette with another vignette of his own.

Enzo thanked Big Show backstage for helping him out. Enzo then asked if it was Big Show that attacked Cass earlier. Big Show got angry, but realized Enzo was just asking because Cass was pissed off. Big Show said that he had one word to describe Big Cass, s-a-w-f-t.

Samoa Joe was interviewed backstage. Joe said that he will lock Lesnar in the Coquina Clutch and become the new Universal Champion at Great Balls of Fire in four weeks.

Roman Reigns will have an announcement regarding SummerSlam next week.

RAW Tag Team Championship 2 out of 3 Falls Match: Sheamus & Cesaro vs The Hardy Boyz

Matt and Jeff controlled the match early. Cesaro was launched out of the ring. Sheamus connected with a quick Brogue Kick on Jeff Hardy in the corner and scored the first victory as RAW went to a commercial break. When RAW returned, Sheamus hit a Backbreaker on Jeff Hardy for a two count.

Cesaro and Matt Hardy were tagged in and traded punches in the ring. Matt slammed Cesaro’s head off the turnbuckle several times and then connected with an elbow. Matt then hit a Tornado DDT off the second rope for a two count. Matt connected with the Twist of Fate on Cesaro for the second fall.

Cesaro connected with an uppercut and knocked Matt to the mat. Sheamus was tagged in and he immediately connected with a knee to Matt’s face. Cesaro was then tagged in and locked Matt in the Sharpshooter. Matt reached the ropes and then Clotheslined Cesaro to the mat.

Jeff Hardy and Sheamus were tagged in and hit an Atomic Drop and followed it up with a Dropkick to Sheamus’ face. Cesaro slammed Matt Hardy into the barricade outside the ring. Back in the ring, Sheamus charged at Jeff but he moved and Sheamus slammed into the ring post. Jeff then hit the Swanton Bomb but Cesaro dragged Sheamus out of the ring to break up the pinfall.

Jeff leaped onto Cesaro outside the ring. Matt then got back to his feet and was once again slammed into the barricade. The official then counted everyone out and the match ended in a double countout. The brawl continued after the match and Jeff Hardy leaped onto Cesaro and Sheamus outside the ring. RAW went off the air with The Hardy Boyz standing tall in the ring as Sheamus & Cesaro raised the titles on the entrance ramp.

Reaction: A lame finish to a match was the perfect choice to wrap up this terrible episode of RAW. The confrontation between Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar was the only entertaining thing that happened on tonight’s show. I would have been absolutely pissed if I was one of the people in the crowd that paid money to go to the show tonight. If you missed this week’s episode of RAW, consider yourself lucky. The Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar promo will be up on YouTube tonight. Check it out there and save yourself three hours.

What did you think of this week’s episode of RAW? Let us know in the comments below.

WWE RAW Results & Live Discussion (6/12)

363

The June 12, 2017 edition of WWE RAW aired live from the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana and featured Brock Lesnar’s return to TV.

– Michael Cole welcomes us to RAW, and without any pre-show pyro Brock Lesnar’s music hits and the Universal Champion makes his way down to the ring. Lesnar is accompanied by his advocate Paul Heyman. Heyman says they’re here tonight to unleash the beast, and it’s Samoa Joe’s day of reckoning. Heyman says that if he and Joe had an old score to settle and he had last week’s assault coming, he would understand, but that’s not the case. Heyman says to think about how many Samoans have been in the wrestling business and what they’ve accomplished, except for one, Samoa Joe. Heyman says all of the other Samoans don’t like Joe, and Joe is a mutt whose greatest accomplishment is putting the Coquina Clutch on Paul Heyman. Heyman says Joe isn’t man enough to put the clutch on his client, which brings out Joe to interrupt. Joe and Lesnar come nose to nose, then Joe hits Lesnar with a headbutt and they brawl all over the ring. Kurt Angle brings out a bunch of security to try separating them but Lesnar and Joe fight the security off and go back at it. Angle calls for help from the roster, and several stars including Enzo, Cass, Rhyno, Slater and others coe out to pull Joe and Lesnar apart. Joe breaks free and kicks Lesnar in the face, then Lesnar breaks free and throws some punches at Joe. They finally get pulled apart and stare each other down as Joe gets hauled backstage.

https://twitter.com/WWE/status/874420125792743424

– Elis Samson is in the ring, who says he is going to sing the crowd a song that was inspired by them. He sings a song about the crowd and Dean Ambrose, but he gets interrupted by Ambrose’s entrance music and we have a match.

Elias Samson def. Dean Ambrose: Samson hits some knees to the midsection early on, but Ambrose comes back with a spinning elbow to the face. Ambrose takes over and Samson rolls outside for a breather. Back in the ring, Samson drops Ambrose with a clothesline then pummels on him in the corner. The crowd duels “You can’t wrestle” and “You can’t sing” chants towards Samson. Ambrose fights out of a headlock and drops Samson with a back suplex. Ambrose and Samson trade chops to the chest then Ambrose hits a clothesline and a fisherman’s suplex for a two count. Ambrose hits a running forearm, and Samson fires back with a big boot to the face. Ambrose throws Samson outside and follows up with a suicide dive. Back in the ring they go up to the top rope, but Ambrose headbutts Samson down to the matt. Miz runs in and distracts Ambrose which leads to Samson rolling him up for a near-fall. Ambrose comes back with a lariat, but then he turns his attention to The Miz again. Miz backs down and uses Maryse as a shield. Ambrose grabs Miz and throws him into the barricade, then argues with Maryse. Ambrose rolls back in the ring where Samson immediately hits a double knee drop to the back of Ambrose’s head. Samson follows up with a spinning reverse neckbreaker for the win.

– In the latest Shattered Dreams Production, Goldust says to keep your friends close but your enemies closer. Goldust says he got to Truth before Truth got to him, and nobody ever understood him. Goldust says people hate him because he’s a bit too bizarre and makes them feel uncomfortable. He says nothing lasts forever unless you’re made of gold, and that the golden age is back.

– Kurt Angle gets in The Miz’ face backstage and cuts a promo on him for interfering in Ambrose’s match. Miz says Angle was too preoccupied with his personal problems to do his job and stop Ambrose from ruining his ceremony last week. Kurt asks Miz what he knows about his problems. Miz suggests Kurt gets on Ambrose’s case instead of his case. Kurt says The Miz will never speak to him that way again, and he’s going to do nothing about Ambrose. Kurt tells Miz if he has a problem with Amborse, do something about it himself.

– Cedric Alexander gets in Noam Dar’s face backstage and says he’s done dealing with Dar and Alicia Fox. Noam has Alicia on Skype on his phone and she talks trash to Cedric. Cedric says he’s done with this and he’s going to finish Dar in the ring tonight.

Cedric Alexander def. Noam Dar: Noam comes out with Alicia still on his phone, except now her voice is coming through the arena speakers. He puts the phone down and turns around, and as soon as the bell rings Cedric hits a backbreaker for the win. Alicia keeps yelling over the speakers as Cedric heads to the back.

– Next week Roman Reigns will announce his plans for SummerSlam.

– Former World Champion Bray Wyatt is out to the ring next. Wyatt cuts a promo on Seth Rollins, and tells him not to take his name in vain. Rollins’s music hits and he makes his way out to the ring to interrupt. Rollins asks Wyatt if the reason why he cost him his match with Samoa Joe last night is because he called him a couple names. Rollins says Wyatt is thin-skinned, and that Wyatt drinks too much of his own Kool Aid. Rollins says the truth is Wyatt is a coward, and he has a problem with it he can do something about it right now. Wyatt says Rollins is too arrogant and he’s beneath him. The lights go out and Wyatt disappears, then he reappears on the big screen. Wyatt says Rollins slayed a king, but he can’t slay a god, then laughs. Wyatt says to face his fear and run.

– Matt and Jeff Hardy do an interview backstage where they say Sheamus and Cesaro are the toughest team they’ve faced. Matt is not “broken” here, and says tonight they’re coming to reclaim RAW Tag Team Titles.

– John Cena’s return to SmackDown on July 4th is promoted, and the spot calls him a “free agent.”

Apollo Crews def. Kalisto: Titus has Akira Tozawa seated at ringside as he tries to recruit him to his management team. Crews controls the opening moments of the match until Kalisto drops him with a series of kicks and a hurricanrana. Titus distracts Kalisto which allows Crews to roll him up from behind for a near-fall. Crews then hits a spin-out powerbomb for the win. Titus and Apollo celebrate in the ring. Titus grabs Akira from ringside and throws him in the ring, and they take a selfie with him.

– Heath Slater and Rhyno are backstage eating Cheez-Whiz on crackers when they are interrupted by The Miz and Maryse. Miz says Kurt Angle isn’t showcasing them enough, and Miz invites Slater and Rhyno to join his entourage. Miz says he can make Slater a bigger star, but Slater comes back saying he wants to be Intercontinental Champion. Miz says if Slater joins him, he promises he’ll get a title shot some day. Rhyno tells Miz that Slater already has a partner, and that Miz should find himself a partner for later tonight because they’re going to settle this in the ring. Rhyno stuffs his face with a fistful of crackers and cheese, which cracks up Slater.

– RAW Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss comes out to the ring and starts cutting a promo, but she is very quickly interrupted by Nia Jax who wants another title shot. Alexa says it’s Mickie James and Dana Brooke’s fault their match got ruined. Mickie and Dana interrupt and point out that Nia didn’t deserve the title shot, and that they had a “Nia Jax problem.” Alexa says Mickie and Dana are unreliable sources, then she’s interrupted by Emma. Emma says she’s back and wants her shot at the title, then she’s interrupted by Sasha. Sasha tells Alexa she’s not a fighting champion and she’s going to show her how a boss throws a party. Sasha decks Alexa with a right hand and everyone starts brawling as we go to commercial.

Sasha Banks, Mickie James & Dana Brooke def. Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax & Emma: While Sasha is working on Emma in the ring, Alexa Bliss hops down off the apron and heads backstage. It appears Alexa has abandoned her team. Nia runs in and Mickie takes her out then hits a splash on her off the top rope. Sasha then hits the Banks Statement on Emma for the win. Nia and Emma stare up at Alexa on the ramp as the winners stand tall in the ring.

– We see an interview with Corey Graves and Bayley taped earlier today. When asked about her loss at Extreme Rules, Bayley says she’s never been in a match like that before, and she’s here to put smiles on faces and not inflict pain. Bayley says she’s going to be herself, and she wants to be the best. She says she wants to reclaim the Women’s Title, and show kids that dreams are possible. Bayley awkwardly asks to end the interview on a hug, which Graves looks puzzled by. He hugs her, and Bayley says that felt good.

Heath Slater & Rhyno def. The Miz & The Bear: The Miz’ partner is someone in the same bear suit from his celebration segment last week. The Miz again tries to tempt Slater to join his entourage, but Slater declines and drops Miz with rights hands. Rhyno tags in and they elbow Slater down. Rhyno drops Miz with a shoulder block then pummels on him in the corner. Slater tags back in and hits a facebuster on Miz. The bear is holding the tag rope, and he slaps Miz on the back to tag in. Slater goes to take the bear’s mask off, but the bear slaps Slater. The bear puts Slater in a bear hug, but Rhyno punches him in the kidneys to break the hold. The bears tags Miz back in, but The Miz has had enough and he attacks the bear. Miz rips it’s mask off to reveal that it’s an unknown guy. Rhyno throws Miz in the ring and Slater boots him in the face. The bear, or a bear, comes back in the ring and hits the Dirty Deeds on Slater. He takes the mask off, and this bear is Ambrose. Ambrose charges towards the Miz and Miz accidentally bumps Maryse off the apron. Miz turns around into another Dirty Deeds from Ambrose. Ambrose drags Slater across Miz and the ref counts to three. Ambrose puts the bear mask on Miz and leaves.

Neville vs. Rich Swann – No Contest: Neville jumps Swann before the bell and locks him in the Rings of Saturn. Neville grabs a mic, kicks Swann out of the ring and says no one has a chance at taking his Cruiserweight Title. Neville mentions Akira Tozawa, and says that Titus O’Neal won’t be able to help Tozawa against him.

Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson def. Enzo & Cass: Before the match, Cass is shown knocked out backstage. Enzo and referees run in, and Cass says he got hit in the back of the head once and doesn’t know who did it. Cass starts off against Anderson and takes control of things with strikes and a side walk slam. Cass is still selling the head injury and he tags in Enzo. Enzo drops Anderson then knocks Gallows off the apron. Enzo turns around into a boot to the face from Anderson. Anderson stomps on Enzo and whips him into the corner, and Enzo fights back with kicks. Enzo looks for the tag but Cass is down on the floor selling his head. Gallows tags in and Enzo fends him off at first, but Gallows drops him with a boot. Anderson tags in and they hit the Magic Killer on Enzo for the win.

– After the bell, Anderson and Gallows go for another Magic Killer on Anderson, but Big Show comes out for the save. Show walks in the ring and Gallows and Anderson leave. Show checks on Enzo and helps him up. Cass gets up on the apron and doesn’t look happy with Big Show hugging his partner. Big Show heads to the back and Enzo and Cass argue in the ring.

– In R-Truth’s latest video vignette towards Goldust, he says he doesn’t forgive and he doesn’t forget. Truth says he remembers what Goldust did to him, and he’s gonna get got.

– Enzo approaches Big Show backstage. Enzo thanks Show, but questions him about Cass getting knocked out backstage since it must have been by someone big. Big Show gets frustrated and denies it. Show tells Enzo is partner is sawft and walks off.

– Samoa Joe does an interview backstage where he says that Lesnar and Heyman are playing right into his hand. Joe says he isn’t about the words, he’s about actions. Joe says the next part of his plan to put Lesnar to sleep at Great Balls of Fire and become the new Universal Champion.

Sheamus & Cesaro vs. Matt & Jeff Hardy – Double Count-Out: This one is a best two-out-of-three falls match for the RAW Tag Titles. Sheamus goes for a Brogue Kick early on, but Matt ducks it and drops Sheamus with a running bulldog. Jeff tags in and hits the Poetry In Motion for a two count. Cesaro pulls Matt off the apron, then Sheamus blocks a Twist of Fate from Jeff and Brogue Kicks him into the corner for the first three count of the match. The fall count is now 1-0 for Sheamus and Cesaro. Sheamus continues working on Jeff and hits a side slam for a two count. Jeff kicks Sheamus outside, but Sheamus comes right back in and stops Jeff from tagging in Matt. Jeff kicks Sheamus away again, then Matt and Cesaro tag in. Matt repeatedly slams Cesaro’s head into the turnbuckle and hits tornado DDT for a two count. Matt fights with Sheamus on the apron and hits the Side Effect on Sheamus onto the apron. Matt rolls in the ring and hits the Twist Of Fate on Cesaro for the three count. The fall count is now 1-1. Matt comes flying off the middle rope but Cesaro blocks with a European uppercut. Sheamus tags in and hits a running knee to Matt’s face for a two count. Cesaro goes for the Neutralizer but Matt fights out. Cesaro locks in the Sharpshooter and Matt reaches the ropes to break the hold. Matt drops Sheamus, then Jeff and Sheamus get the tags. Jeff hits an inverted atomic drop on Sheamus then a dropkick. Jeff follows up with the Twist of Fate but Cesaro breaks up the pin. Matt takes Cesaro outside and they brawl around ringside. Sheamus drops Jeff throat-first onto the ropes, then Cesaro uppercuts Jeff from the floor. Sheamus rolls up Jeff for a two count while Cesaro and Matt continue to fight at ringside. Sheamus misses a spear in the corner and hits the ring post, then Jeff goes up top. Jeff hits the Swanton Bomb and pins, but Cesaro breaks up the pin once again. Jeff goes out to the apron and hits a splash on Cesaro at ringside. All four men are now brawling at ringside and the referee counts out everyone, which the crowd is not pleased with. Matt shoves Sheamus into the ring post and hits a back body drop on Cesaro onto the floor. Jeff goes to the top rope and hits a splash on both Cesaro and Sheamus on the floor. The referee hands the belts to Cesaro and Sheamus and the champions celebrate on the ramp as Matt and Jeff stare them down from the ring.

Kazuchika Okada Ties the Great Muta, Moves Closer to Tanahashi’s Record

4

NJPW held their second biggest show of the year Sunday from Osaka. 7 title matches took place at the event, including a 60-minute time limit draw between Kenny Omega and IWGP heavyweight champion, Kazuchika Okada.

While he only retained his title on a time limit draw, Okada has now tied the Great Muta’s tally of total IWGP heavyweight title defences, and is moving closer to the all-time record.

IWGP Heavyweight Champion: Kazuchika Okada

Title Defences (current reign): 6
Title Defences (all-time): 19

Total Days as Champion: 1,154

Only 5 other wrestlers have ever had title reigns of equal or greater length in terms of title defences: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Shinsuke Nakamura, Yuji Nagata, Shinya Hashimoto, and Tatsumi Fujinami.

Tanahashi holds the record for most title defences in a single reign, when he had 11 from 2012 to 2013.

The title defence Sunday moved Okada into a tie with the Great Muta for 3rd most title defences all-time with 19. Should Okada defeat Cody on July 1st in L.A, he would tie Shinya Hashimoto for 2nd with 20 title defences. Tanahashi is again the leader in this category with 28.

Greatest IWGP Heavyweight Champions of All-Time:

  1. Hiroshi Tanahashi – 7 Title Reigns – 28 Title Defences
  2. Shinya Hashimoto – 3 Title Reigns – 20 Title Defences

Daniel Bryan’s Future Wrestling Career?

While he may be currently spending his time training Birdie Joe, there continues to be speculation regarding Daniel Bryan’s in-ring career. While Bryan has retired from WWE, and likely will never receive clearance to perform in the company again, he hasn’t closed the door on his career altogether.

Speaking to Inside the Ropes wrestling, Bryan had the following to say regarding an in-ring return:

Yeah. I understand why they (WWE) won’t let me wrestle. It’s a liability thing. It’s also they’re trying to protect me and that sort of thing. But there’s good reason to believe that I should be able to wrestle…so we’ll see in a year and a half (when his WWE contract expires) what happens.”

Bryan’s contract with WWE is set to expire in the 2nd half of 2018.

Report: Bray Wyatt’s Wife Files For Divorce After Finding Out About Alleged WWE Affair

87

Former WWE Champion Bray Wyatt has reportedly gotten himself into a bit of trouble. Per a report from Daily Mail UK, Wyatt’s wife, Samantha Rotunda, filed for divorce in Florida from her 30-year-old husband, Wyatt, and accuses him of adultery.

Samantha’s lawyer has reportedly identified Wyatt’s alleged lover as WWE ring announcer Jojo Offerman. Jojo is the 23-year-old daughter of former Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Jose Offerman and is a former star of the E! reality series WWE Total Divas. Samantha’s lawyer also stated that they’ve obtained phone records that show Wyatt has been keeping ‘continuous contact’ with Offerman.

Bray’s attorney released the following statement regarding the matter:

“I do represent Mr. Rotunda in his dissolution of marriage case in Hernando County, Florida.

“As you know, these cases involve the private lives of the participants and sometimes unpleasant disputes. I would ask that you respect the privacy of both litigants in this matter and I have no other comments to make.”

Wyatt filed a counter-petition for divorce in Hernando County which requested an injunction that would force his wife to keep quiet regarding their split. Bray also claims that his wife made ‘defamatory statements about the husband to several people in the community in an effort to ruin his reputation.’

Furthermore, Wyatt accused his wife of posting lies about him on social media “in an effort to damage the husband’s business ventures in the entertainment industry.” Samantha had this to say regarding Wyatt’s petition for an injunction:

“It is a shame that the Husband would make such false claims and attempt such media gaming. Ms. Rotunda will not only prove Husband’s allegation and claims are nothing more than a media ploy and endeavor to create an offense to defend his adultery and misdeeds.

“…Husband’s deceitful allegations and defamatory statements are decidedly an attempt to pull the wool over the public’s eyes when his antics and affairs become more public.”

Her lawyer also said that Samantha is ‘disappointed’ by how things between her and Bray turned out:

“Samantha is saddened by the divorce as she and the husband have been together since college (Troy University in Alabama),’ said Rafool. ‘But she hopes that all may be resolved amicably and as soon as possible so that she and their daughters may move forward with their lives.”

Per her divorce petition, Samantha claims that she and Wyatt got married in 2012 before separating this past Match after “The Eater Of Worlds” walked out on her and their two daughters, who are aged six and four.

Samantha is seeking ownership of their home as well as child support and alimony to go along with majority custody of their children. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more….

Matt & Jeff Hardy Interview Added to WWE Network (Recap)

3

WWE has uploaded a Hardy Boys interview special to the WWE Network titled, Reborn by Fate: Hardys Interview. Matt and Jeff recently sat down with Corey Graves to discuss their surprise returns at WrestleMania, winning the tag team titles on their first night back, what it’s like to be home in WWE and more.

When asked what’s different about the WWE locker room since their last run with the company, Matt said the vibe is much more and the talent is more athletic than ever. Jeff said he didn’t watch a lot of WWE television before their return and felt somewhat intimidated by the current crop of Superstars.

Matt joked that since he’s in his 40’s and Jeff will be 40 this summer, the term “Hardy Men” might be more of an appropriate name than Hardy Boys.

Of course, what would a ‘Hardy Men’ interview be without an update on the status of Matt and Jeff bringing the Broken Universe to WWE. “I definitely think there is a chance,” Matt said. “It’s a work in progress. Unfortunately, because of legal reasons, I really can’t go into it right now but I find it very flattering and humbling that every time we come and wrestle in front of the WWE Universe, they chant and they address it and they acknowledge it.”

Matt continued, “When it happens, and I’m not even going to say if, when it happens, it’s going to be the most exciting thing to hit WWE programming in a long, long time. We’ve got to keep people guessing.”

Corey Graves brought up the fact that both Matt and Jeff have battled demons in the past and questioned if they find it difficult working the WWE schedule again. Matt says it’s not for him, since he’s accepted the changes that along with getting older. Previously, he’d work himself into the ground and compete no matter how bad his body was feeling. Jeff said temptation is obsolete for him. He’s been there and done that with partying. Now, he looks forward to time on the road and looks forward to returning home to be with his family. Both said their families motivate them to stay clean and both look forward to resuming their singles careers in WWE when the time is right.

The special includes unseen footage from WrestleMania, including Matt and Jeff arriving in secrecy and hiding in a tour bus and the backstage reaction to the surprise after their match.

You can watch Reborn by Fate now on the WWE Network.

– WWE is sending the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins a replicate WWE Championship belt after winning this year’s Stanley Cup Championship on Sunday night.

– Former WWE writer Kevin Eck appeared on the PWTorch Livecast last week and was asked if he thinks we will ever see a Sister Abigail character on WWE television. Eck told Wade Keller,  “From what I know about how Bray Wyatt envisioned that character, I don’t think that character is ever going to be seen, because the way Bray explained it, and I don’t think it’s ever come out on TV, he speaks in riddles, so maybe if you read in-between the lines, but Bray Wyatt was apparently a young man and Sister Abigail was an old, black woman, in I believe, the swamps of Louisiana who had some supernatural powers, and you know, the history of voodoo and such in New Orleans. I believe she took him nder her wing and kind of taught him the secrets of what she knows of the dark arts and things like that”

Sasha Banks On Wanting To Main Event WrestleMania, Mae Young Women’s Tournament & More

19

Sasha Banks was a recent guest on the WNS Podcast. The Boss spoke about a number of topics, including her chemistry with Bayley, thoughts before going into the first ever women’s Hell In A Cell match and her desire to main event WrestleMania.

Here are some highlights of what she said about:

Chemistry with Bayley and what made their matches so special:

“It was a love/hate relationship. We have so much in common. We love this business so much and you know talking to her more, her dream was to be a wrestler when she was 10. My dream was to be a wrestler when I was 10. I wanted to change the definition of what it was to be a woman in WWE and she had the exact same feelings. So, it was just that mutual love for this knowing that we always wanted to steal the show. And getting the opportunity at NXT Brooklyn and just hearing that crowd. We tore the house down. Honestly, I can’t wait to do it again. I can’t wait to tie up with her again. But, that’s all in due time. Ever since then, from that very moment the women’s revolution has just been taking over. And from there I got to main event a WWE pay per view with Charlotte at Hell In A Cell. The first ever woman’s match in hell in a cell and it’s been just such a whirlwind of excitement. It’s so crazy.”

Participating in the first-ever Women’s Hell in a Cell match:

“First of all, I came out in an SUV I wasn’t really walking because I’m The Boss you know what I’m saying? It was in my hometown and I remember being like “holy crap man! We are making history” It’s moments like that where you just have to stand still and look around. We’ve come such a long way for the women and the men. But even then, getting to be part of Wrestlemania and having these great matches. The Smackdown women are going to be competing in the first ever women’s Money In The Bank. Of course I’m really jealous but I’m so happy to see where this Women’s division has taken it and grown. It’s so incredible.”

Advice for fans who want to follow in her foot steps:

“First of all it makes me feel super old. It’s so crazy seeing little girls and even guys come up to me and say “I want to be a wrestler because of you”. It makes my heart so happy and it gives me goosebumps. Because I know that feeling of when I was a little girl and I looked up to my favourite wrestlers knowing ai wanted to be in their footsteps. And now knowing little girls and guys want to be in my footsteps. It’s really surreal. It’s an honour. Being a role model is legit #1 for me. I just want to make little girls proud and know if they have a dream they can do it as long as they put their heart, their passion and everything into it they can accomplish anything.”

Her transition from NXT to the main roster:

“For me, we did TV at Full Sail in Orlando and it would almost be the same kind of fans coming every single month we would tape it. But Raw is live. We do this legit. Every single week it’s live from a different state and it’s a different crowd every week and you just don’t know what to expect. You just kind of have to change with the crowd. If they’re feeling one way,you have to try and make them fee another. It was definitely changing that and not having TV takings to being live every single week. And the travel schedule is intense. But if this is your passion, it’s easy. We have the greatest times and the greatest fans. They’re so passionate and loyal and it’s so much fun.”

WWE’s Upcoming Mae Young Classic Women’s Tournament:

“I think this is a great opportunity for women all over the world. And finding out we were going to have our own tournament after seeing these guys get it year after year. The women deserve it too. I think it’s going to be the best tournament out of all of them we’ve had so far and I can’t wait to go down and support them.”

Her next big challenge in WWE:

I want to main event Wrestlemania. That’s the number one goal. It’s crazy knowing I’ve only been on the main roster for 2 years and I’ve done so much, accomplished so many things, done so many first time evers. It gives me goosebumps thinking I’ve done so much and everything I’ve ever dreamt up I’ve accomplished. But main eventing Wrestlemania is the number one goal right now

Her favorite match ever:

Any Eddie Guerrero match is my favourite. I loved Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterious from Wrestlemania 21 and Halloween Havoc. Shawn Michaels vs Undertaker from Wrestlemania (their first one). Of course myself vs Bayley from NXT Takeover Brooklyn.

When last we saw the Rock N Roll Express in action, they were part of “Tag Team Apocolypto” on Impact. The Hardyz are long time fans of the team.
