John Cena Championship Celebration Scrapped, Joe vs. Reigns in Slow-Mo

9

– WWE Champion John Cena will be on this Thursday’s “Off the Top Rope” ESPN SportsCenter segment with Jonathan Coachman.

Cena achieved a major milestone when he tied Ric Flair’s record for the most world championship reigns by defeating AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble, but WWE did not make a huge deal out of Cena tying Flair’s record. We’ve heard from multiple people that a more elaborate celebration was planned, but WWE wound up writing it out of the show. WWE did acknowledge Cena tying Ric Flair’s record and Flair was on hand to congratulate the champ, but what we saw was far from the original plan.

Cena defends the WWE Championship this Sunday inside the Elimination Chamber and a short-title reign could be the reason for the lack of recognition at the Rumble.

– WWE posted this slow motion video from Samoa Joe’s RAW debut last night against Roman Reigns.

Speaking of Joe’s RAW debut, Triple H tweeted the following after Joe defeated Roman Reigns in the main event of the evening.

Nakamura Won’t Need Knee Surgery, Video Of WWE’s Newest Female Recruits

14

– WWE announced on Tuesday that Shinsuke Nakamura will not require knee surgery after a recent injury scare. The former NXT Champion did not appear at the most recent NXT television tapings and he hasn’t wrestled since dropping the NXT title to Bobby Roode at Takeover: San Antonio. The next round of NXT tapings take place on 2/22 from the University of Central Florida. These are the last tapings before TakeOver in Orlando.

– The “Seth Rollins: Building the Architect” DVD from WWE is scheduled to be released in May. There will be no Blu-ray version of this release, as the company is cutting back on Blu-ray versions in the UK and North America.

– We’ve reported how new WWE recruits Dori Prange (Heidi Lovelace), Kimberly Frankele (Kimber Lee) and Mary Kate Duignan Glidewell (Andrea) recently reported to the WWE Performance Center. Below is footage of the ladies discussing what it means to finally make to the biggest pro wrestling promotion in the world:

Kevin Owens Mocks WWE For Photoshopping Goldberg’s Beard

16

Kevin Owens knocked the WWE Fastlane graphic last night on Twitter. He has a match with Goldberg with the Universal Championship at the event, but Owens noticed something a little off with the picture of Goldberg and had no problem pointing it out on social media.

Of course, Owens didn’t have to wait for the WWE to photoshop his beard. Many people on Twitter decided to take action themselves.

Update On The Future Of The Stone Cold Podcast

13

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fiqwu_pXgqQ

Don’t expect to see the Stone Cold Podcast return to the WWE Network any time soon.

The popular sit-down interview show hasn’t been since last summer, when then-WWE Champion Dean Ambrose was a guest. The overwhelming consensus is that Ambrose’s appearance did not go well, with Austin essentially telling him to ‘show more effort’ if he wants to carry the company on his back.

Dave Meltzer commented on the situation on the the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. In response to a fan question asking why the Stone Cold Podcast hasn’t returned, Meltzer said management wasn’t happy with how Austin approached the role and was too “real” for what they’re looking for.

“The Ambrose one… I didn’t think it was a disaster, but many did.”  Meltzer said. “Steve tries to be real and they don’t want real. They want their version of real.” Meltzer stated.

Ambrose also revealed that Brock didn’t really want to do much in their WrestleMania match last year. We learned later that Lesnar didn’t take a lot of risks at WrestleMania because he was already training for his UFC return later that summer.

Other previous guests include Vince McMahon, Triple H, Paul Heyman, Paige, Edge and Christian, Brock Lesnar, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair, Big Show, Mick Foley, AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose.

Austin was said to have gotten some backlash as a result of the interview he did with Lesnar in October 2015 as well. In that interview he teased a possible WrestleMania match with Brock. In fact he mentioned if they were to wrestle it should be in a “Texas Death Match.”Vince was apparently upset about this, thinking fans would believe the match would happen since they mentioned it on-air.

On another episode, Austin expressed to Triple H that Chyna deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which probably didn’t go over too well either.

Meltzer would continue to speculate that the “Legends With JBL” interviews have essentially replaced Austin’s show. “JBL at least knows the framework of what they want, and Steve tries to be real. JBL will do their version of real”

Ted DiBiase Jr’s Returns To The Ring (Video), More WWE UK Matches On NXT, More

8

– The WWE UK Championship will apparently be a big part of NXT this year. UK Champion Tyler Bate made his NXT debut last week in a non-title win over Oney Lorcan but he will be defending the championship against Trent Seven on the 2/15 NXT episode. UK competitors Pete Dunne and Mark Andrews will then compete on the 3/1 NXT episode. These matches were recently taped with full UK graphics on display inside Full Sail.

– Below is video of former WWE Superstar Ted DiBiase Jr’s return to the ring at a recent ProWrestling EGO event in Pearl, Mississippi. The event was held as a law enforcement fundraiser and marked Ted’s first match since late 2013. The event- which was to benefit Rankin and Hinds County Honor Guard- saw DiBiase take on Calvin Rose, Monty Warbucks, and Joey Abel in street clothes, sporting a walking boot, alongside Mike Carter and Fuego Del Sol. This video was just released a few days back but the event took place o 12/3.

More On the Rock ‘N’ Roll Express’ WWE HOF Induction, Reactions

5

You can watch the official WWE Hall Of Fame video package for “The Rock ‘N’ Roll Express” Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson above.

The wrestling legends spoke with CBS Sports on Monday at this link and admitted that the call from WWE caught them off guard. Morton called it a dream come true and both expressed interest in wrestling for WWE again as they continue to work indy matches each week.

“It was a surprise,” Morton told CBS Sports. “I had a message on my phone [from WWE] to call the number back. I think they got ahold of Robert at the time. When they called, it was just like a suckerpunch. It just knocked us off our feet.”

“It’s an honor for Ricky and me to go into the hall of fame,” Gibson added.

Meanwhile, past and present WWE Superstars congratulated the guys on Twitter and spoke about the impact they had on the business:

Chris Jericho Adds Super Bowl 51 MVP Tom Brady To “The List”

4

WWE had to be hoping for another mainstream media mention when they had Chris Jericho add Super Bowl 51 MVP Tom Brady to “The List” on last night’s RAW in Portland. Jericho also called the quarterback of the New England Patriots a stupid idiot and spent the first few minutes of his in-ring promo ripping on Brady.

Jericho continued the Brady jokes after RAW on social media. Jericho posted this meme on Instagram but as of this writing, the WWE United States Champion has received no response from Brady or The Patriots.

Meanwhile, WWE sent the Patriots a custom replica WWE Championship belt to commemorate their historic comeback victory on Sunday night.

WWE Asia Championship Planned, Scott Steiner Indy Video, More

14

– It looks like WWE is moving forward with plans to crown the first ever WWE Asia Champion. After the recent success of WWE’s United Kingdom Championship tournament, officials are now interested in holding similar events in other regions of the world. WWE officials have already begun scouting talent in Asia, with several wrestlers in talks with the company to iron out their eligibility and travel requirements. Any potential candidates would have to sign exclusive deals, and no outside bookings will be allowed if signed in the US, the UK, or Japan. Officials hope to avoid some of the confusion reported from the UK scene.

– We’ve reported how Samoa Joe vs. Triple H was one match discussed for Triple H at WrestleMania 33 now that Seth Rollins is injured. After this week’s RAW that match seems unlikely. PWInsider reports that one match that was at least discussed is Triple H vs. Shane McMahon. We also know that Shane vs. AJ Styles has been considered recently.

– The following Title Match Wrestling video from a recent Pro Wrestling Syndicate event in Sayreville, NJ features Scott Steiner facing indy wrestler Craig Steele. Steiner cuts a pre-match promo that is very NSFW and goes on to win the match when Steele taps out.

WWE SmackDown & 205 Live Previews For Tonight

Fan Releases Rundown Sheet for RAW Online

13

A fan has released a copy of the rundown sheet from last night’s RAW on Twitter:

Evidently James, who describes himself as rad, was cleaning up after RAW and stumbled upon the sheet, then decided to release it on Twitter.

Notable Items on RAW Rundown Sheet

Somewhat notable on this sheet is the list of which producers are working on which storylines and angles.

Looking it over it is clear that Michael Hayes is producing anything to do with Samoa Joe, and possibly Roman Reigns as well. It could be that Hayes produces the main event matches and segments for the show, as he also covered the Brock Lesnar vs. Big Show dark match.

Dean Malenko producing the Chris Jericho vs. Sami Zayn match is interesting as well, considering some of the great matches Jericho and Malenko had in WCW. Zayn sort of fits with their style as well.

D-Von Dudley working as a producer for the New Day vs. Shining Stars match makes sense as well, considering his experience in tag-team matches. Mike Rotunda, aka IRS/father to Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, working as the producer for tag team championship match shows that he is probably the head producer for the division, whereas D-Von works the smaller matches.

Arn Anderson got the Rusev vs. Sin Cara match for Main Event, as well as the Braun Strowman handicap match. Jamie Knoble looks to cover all the cruiserweight matches.  The former Sarita from TNA was the producer for the lone women’s division match.

Also notable was that the Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho segment, which later involved Goldberg, did not have a producer. That means it was just those guys and Vince.

Jerry Lawler’s New BBQ Restaurant, 2K17 On PC, More

5

– A new “Celebrating Black History” collection has been added to the WWE Network for the month of February. The 2017 version appears to be a re-upload of the 2016 collection with some new content. They also have a new Collection on The New Day for Black History Month.

– WWE 2K17 is now available on PC.

– Bryan Saxton recently interviewed NXT announcer Percy Watson for the WWE website at this link. Watson talked about how he received a phone call “out of the blue” to return to the company. He was released from the WWE a few years earlier and had returned to commodities trading.

“Well, this whole experience has been completely surreal to me. But now that I’ve got a second chance, my goal is to learn as much as possible,” Watson said. “I realize that it’ll take some time, but I have no problem with that. I want to bring as much energy and ‘Showtime’ to the announce team as I can.”

– Jerry “The King” Lawler’s new Memphis-based BBQ restaurant was profiled last week by @MemphisNews:

Former Talents Contacted For WrestleMania 33, Triple H On The Bobby Roode Era, NXT Celebration

13

– We’ve reported how current WrestleMania 33 plans call for RAW Women’s Champion Charlotte defending against Nia Jax, Bayley and Sasha Banks in a Fatal 4 Way. It is unclear what WWE has planned for the SmackDown women’s division, but a number of former female WWE Superstars have been contacted for the show.

– This week’s NXT will feature a glorious NXT Championship celebration with Bobby Roode.

Speaking of Roode, Triple H called the recent NXT Full Sail tapings the first of the “Bobby Roode Era.” Triple H tweeted this photo with Roode after the tapings:

Samoa Joe Working Live Events, Team 3D Opening Another School, XFL

1

– Last week’s “This Was The XFL” 30 for 30 documentary on ESPN drew 917,000 viewers and was the 8th most-watched show on cable for the evening. This was on the low end of viewership for the series. The installment focusing on MLB players Dwight Gooden and Darryl Strawberry (July 2016)  drew 1.196 million viewers, the ‘Cleveland’ 30 for 30 (May 2017) did 844,000 viewers and the ‘NBA Orlando Magic in the 90’s’ special (April 2016) did 1.509 million viewers.

– Samoa Joe is expected to start working RAW house shows soon, according to Wrestling Observer. Joe vs. Seth Rollins was booked for house shows until Rollins went down with the injury. Joe made his official in-ring debut on last night’s RAW and defeated Roman Reigns.

– Bubba Dudley revealed on Twitter that he and Devon are opening a second Team 3D Wrestling Academy in the Northeast later this year. Their first school in Florida has been open since 2007.

“Special Project” At The Performance Center, Cruiserweight Returning Soon, More

3

– Tajiri was backstage at RAW last night and is expected to return to action soon. Tajiri has been out of commission with a knee injury since mid-January, suffered shortly after his official return to the company on 205 Live. On January 22nd, he was already able to kick and jump according to his tweet.

– Referee Charles Robinson told WWE.com that he suffered a torn plantar fasciitis during the AJ Styles vs. John Cena WWE Championship match at Royal Rumble. The injury happened at around 7 minutes in. Robinson said he will be back in the ring in time for Elimination Chamber. Regarding the post-match comments he shared with Cena, Robinson said:

“We were just talking about how cool it was that I’ve reffed for Ric Flair so many times and now I’m refereeing his 16th title and tying [it] up with Ric. He thought that was pretty freaking cool.”

– Michael Cole tweeted this photo with Byron Saxton, tagging Corey Graves and JBL, while working on a “special project” at the WWE Performance Center a few days back:

John Cena Talks Big Show vs. Shaq, Triple H Surprises Wish Kids, R-Truth Single Preview

8

– Triple H recently surprised a group of kids from Make-A-Wish with WrestleMania 33 tickets at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando. The Wish Kids will be a part of the WrestleMania festivities this coming April in Orlando. Below are photos:

– Below is a clip from the new single “Back Against the Wall” by R-Truth and rapper Laroo RTK, scheduled for a February 24th release:

– In the video below from TMZ Sports, John Cena shares his thoughts on the Shaquille O’Neal vs Big Show match at WrestleMania 33. Cena believes Big Show is in great physical shape and has really transformed his body. Cena has known Show for fifteen years and believes Show has something to prove this year, and a need to make his mark on WrestleMania, using the “please retire” chants from a few years back as motivation.

Brock Lesnar Makes Surprise Appearance After RAW (Photos)

7

Brock Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman made a surprise appearance after Monday’s RAW from Portland, OR went off the air.

Heyman and Lesnar came out after RAW ended and issued an open challenge, which was accepted by The Big Show. The match lasted less than 5 seconds when Lesnar blocked a chokeslam and hit a F5.

Earlier in the evening, Goldberg appeared live on RAW to Heyman and Lesnar’s challenge for a match at WrestleMania 33.

WWE Monday Night Raw Recap & Reaction (2/6)

52

Samoa Joe was introduced as the newest member of the Raw roster. RAW GM Mick Foley wasn’t too thrilled about Samoa Joe’s actions last week where he attacked Seth Rollins. Samoa Joe put the entire Raw locker room on notice and claimed that he was going to destroy anyone in his path. Roman Reigns came down to the ring and had a stare down with Joe. Reigns challenged him to a match and Foley made it official for later on tonight.

Reaction: This was a very good promo to start off the show. Samoa Joe is an awesome heel and a welcome addition to the Raw roster.

Nia Jax vs Bayley

Nia Jax dominated the first few minutes of the match and Raw went to a commercial break. When Raw returned, Nia was still in control and mocked the dance Bayley does. Nia Jax charged at Bayley outside the ring but Bayley moved and Nia ran into the ring post. The referee was counting Nia out when Charlotte ran down to the ring. Bayley hit Charlotte with a Dropkick but the distraction allowed Nia time to get back into the ring. Nia hit the Samoan Drop for the pinfall victory. After the match, Charlotte stood over Bayley and raised her Raw Women’s Championship.

Winner: Nia Jax

Handicap Match: Braun Strowman vs. Dusty Wallace, James Stock, CC Bonin & Rob Pelley

Braun Strowman dismantled his three opponents with ease. Strowman then confronted Mick Foley backstage and demanded a more competitive match. Foley said that Strowman will face Roman Reigns at WWE Fastlane.

Winner: Braun Strowmnan

Akira Tozawa vs Drew Gulak

This was a quick back and forth match. Tozawa got the pinfall victory after hitting the German Suplex. After the match, Brian Kendrick came down to the ring after the match and shook Tozara’s hand.

Winner: Akira Tozawa

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens came down to the ring. Jericho said that he was the greatest of all time and was annoyed that people were referring to Tom Brady as the GOAT. Jericho then added Tom Brady to the list. Owens bragged about his retaining his Universal Championship against Braun Strowman last week. Jericho once again brought up the idea of a match at Wrestlemania with Owens. Owens still wasn’t too fond of it because he didn’t want to fight his best friend.

Goldberg then interrupted and challenged Kevin Owens to a match. Jericho got in Goldberg’s face and said that he never liked him. Jericho then accepted the match on Owens’ behalf. Owens flipped out at Jericho. It was then made official, Kevin Owens versus Goldberg at WWE Fastlane for the Universal Championship. Jericho and Owens were shown arguing backstage after a commercial break.

Reaction: I’m not a fan at all of Goldberg becoming Universal Champion. There is enough momentum behind the Lesnar and Goldberg match at Wrestlemania, I don’t think that the Universal Championship needs to be added to it. I would rather see a bunch of people become Universal Champion besides either Goldberg or Brock Lesnar. I want to see new stars headline Wrestlemania. As of right now, the WWE Championship match could be John Cena versus Randy Orton and the Universal Championship match could be Goldberg versus Brock Lesnar. That sounds like one hell of a card in 2007.

Raw Tag Team Championship Match: Gallows & Anderson (c) vs Sheamus & Cesaro

Enzo and Big Cass were ringside for this match. Sheamus and Cesaro started out the match in control but Gallows and Anderson battled back. Raw returned from a commercial break with Anderson in control of Cesaro. Gallows got knocked out of the ring and landed by Enzo and Cass. Enzo started to poke fun at Gallows and Gallows kicked him in the face. Big Cass then connected with a big boot on Gallows that resulted in the match ending by disqualification. After the match, Sheamus and Cesaro were pissed off at Enzo and Cass for costing them the match.

Winners via DQ & Still Raw Tag Team Champions: Gallows & Anderson

New Day vs The Shining Stars

The New Day cut a promo before the match and announced that they have a New Day ice cream coming out. The match itself was short and the New Day dominated. Big E and Woods hit the Midnight Hour on Epico for the victory.

Winners: New Day

United States Championship Match: Chris Jericho (c) vs Sami Zayn

Kevin Owens and Jericho became friends again right before the match. Owens accompanied Jericho to the ring to cheer him on. Sami Zayn had control of the match early as Raw went to a commercial break after Sami hit a Moonsault onto Jericho outside the ring.

When Raw returned, Jericho had control and hit a Lionsault onto Zayn. Jericho went for the Code Breaker but Zayn blocked it and hit the Exploder Suplex. Zayn then went for the Helluva Kick but Jericho avoided it. Zayn hit the Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Jericho battled back and locked in the Walls of Jericho but Zayn reached the bottom rope to break the hold. Jericho argued with the referee and Owens kicked Zayn in the face. Jericho then hit the Code Breaker for the pinfall victory.

Winner & Still United States Champion: Chris Jericho

Reaction: WWE Fastlane is four weeks away and the most obvious thing in the world would be that is when Jericho and Owens finally turn on each other. I’m really hoping that winds up not being the case because right now I feel like I’m just waiting a month to watch something that I already know is going to happen. Sami Zayn seems to be following the same career path of Dolph Ziggler. Everyone recognizes his talent but he has really done nothing of note since the brand split. He seems like a major contender to be in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at this year’s Wrestlemania.

Austin Aries interviewed Neville in the middle of the ring. Aries stated that the injury that Rich Swann suffered last week will keep him out of some time. Aries announced that tomorrow night on 205 Live their will be a Fatal 5 Way Elimination Match to determine the number one contender for the Cruiserweight Championship. Jack Gallagher, Tony Nese, Cedric Alexander, Noam Dar and TJ Perkins will be competing in the match.

Aries asked Neville who he was most afraid of in that match and Neville got pissed off. Neville said that he doesn’t fear anyone. This led to all five of Superstars coming down to the ring and a brawl broke out. Raw went to a commercial break during the brawl.

Cedric Alexander, Jack Gallagher & TJ Perkins vs Tony Nese, Neville & Noam Dar

Last week on 205 Live, Neville teamed up with Dar and refused to tag into the match. Neville left Dar alone in the ring and Alexander hit the Lumbar Check on him. The exact same event happened here. Dar went to tag in Neville but Neville jumped off the ring apron. Nese and Dar shouted at Neville as he walked backstage. Perkins knocked Nese out of the ring and Alexander hit the Lumbar Check on Dar for the victory.

Winners: Cedric Alexander, Jack Gallagher & TJ Perkins

Reaction: It wouldn’t be an episode of Monday Night Raw without a short tag match with the Cruiserweight Division. At least the promo before the match set up an interesting match on tomorrow night’s episode of 205 Live.

Monday Night Raw is in Las Vegas next week and Jericho has something planned for it. Jericho and Owens were having a conversation  backstage and Jericho revealed that next week their will be a “Festival of Friendship”. The festival will be celebrating the bond between Jericho and Owens.

Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns

Samoa Joe attacked Roman Reigns while he was making his entrance. Joe slammed Reigns into the barricade and the ring apron. Samoa Joe followed it up with a Senton onto the ribs of Reigns. Apparently his chest protecter was no match for Samoa Joe. Raw went to a commercial break with Roman Reigns in agony outside the ring and the referee checking on him.

When Raw returned, Roman Reigns was in control. Reigns slammed Joe into the barricade outside the ring. Back in the ring, Joe launched Reigns into the turnbuckle and followed it up with a kick to his head. Joe hit a few more kicks and then connected with an Elbow Drop to Reigns for a two count. Joe controlled the next few minutes of the match.

Reigns battled back and the two traded punches in the ring. Reigns planted Joe with a Clothesline. Reigns hit nine Clotheslines on Joe in the corner but Joe knocked Reigns to the mat and hit another Senton. Reigns planted Joe with a Samoan Drop. Reigns was gearing up for the Superman Punch but Joe rolled out of the ring. Reigns hit the Drive By and brought Joe back into the ring. Reigns then hit the Superman Punch and was about to go for the Spear but Braun Strowman’s music hit. Reigns punched off the apron but Joe connected with a Suplex on Reigns for the victory. After the match, Strowman hit the Running Powerslam to Roman Reigns. Strowman then hit Reigns with the steel steps outside the ring. Strowman then hit another Running Powerslam on Reigns through the barricade.

Winner: Samoa Joe

Reaction: Strowman once again looked like a monster here. Samoa Joe and Reigns put on a solid match to close out the show. I’m curious as to where Samoa Joe goes from here. I’m assuming that the original plan was for Joe to face Rollins at WWE Fastlane. That is obviously off the table due to Rollins suffering another knee injury. It was announced that Reigns will be facing Strowman at Fastlane, so who will Joe face?

What did you think of this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw? Let us know in the comments below.

New Chinese Recruits Report To The WWE Performance Center

0

WWE announced today that 4 new Chinese talents have reported to the WWE Performance Center in Orlando – Gao Lei, Gu Guangming, Cheng Yuxiang and Wang Xiaolong. They were among the 7 Chinese recruits to sign deals last summer.

Below is WWE’s full announcement on their arrivals:

China recruits report to WWE Performance Center for training

Four new recruits arrived from China last week and reported for training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, each with the goal of establishing himself as the next WWE Superstar.

Gao Lei, Gu Guangming, Cheng Yuxiang and Wang Xiaolong were among the seven Chinese recruits signed to WWE developmental contracts following a four-day tryout WWE held in Shanghai last June. The four join Zhao Xia, Yifeng and Big Boa, who began their training at the Performance Center last month, and Tian Bing, who last summer became WWE’s first Chinese talent signed to a developmental contract. Upon their arrival, they were also met and welcomed at the Performance Center by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE Executive Vice President, Talent, Live Events & Creative.

“When we held our first-ever tryout in China last year, we identified seven gifted athletes who had the potential to become WWE Superstars,” said Levesque. “They are finally training together at the WWE Performance Center, where they will be given the opportunity to develop their skills and serve as an inspiration to millions of WWE fans back home. These recruits are also symbolic of WWE’s commitment to finding the most talented athletes and entertainers from around the world.”

Cheng Yuxiang

A native of Heilongjiang, a province located in the northeastern part of China, Cheng Yuxiang is an expert-level fitness trainer certified by the Beijing Zhuo Zhonghua International Fitness Academy. Having fought in numerous boxing competitions throughout China, he’s aware that his opportunity with WWE will be his toughest challenge, and potentially the most rewarding.

“I am very happy to be here in Orlando,” said Yuxiang, citing in particular the “very nice” Florida air, “and to be at the Performance Center to train. I will work hard every day during training to represent the Chinese crew.”

Gao Lei

In addition to being a champion in various Beijing traditional wrestling promotions, Gao Lei was the team leader of Inner Mongolia University for The Nationalities’s wrestling team.

“I believe that I am a great wrestler,” Lei said, “but being here in WWE makes me realize that I need to work harder, to get on everyone’s level. I am going to work hard to be the best that I can.”

Gu Guangming

Since 2012, Mudanjiang native Gu Guangming has ranked among the top amateur boxers in his weight class, and went on to win the National Men’s Championship in 2014. At 6-foot-8, Guangming is the tallest of the Chinese recruits; now he’s focused on standing out even more while training in Orlando.

“I am very happy to be here at the WWE Performance Center,” he said. “I want to learn everything I can about wrestling. I am ready to learn.”

Wang Xiaolong

Of the seven recruits’ diverse backgrounds, Wang Xiaolong’s is perhaps the most eclectic; he was a sport enthusiast from a very young age, and he studied at the Shandong University of Technology, with a major in sports. Then he pursued his dream of studying music at Beijing Contemporary Music Academy and later on received professional singing and dancing training.

“I used to be a dancer and a musician,” he explained. “But now I want to be a WWE Superstar, to fight for my family.”

With the China recruits now all together and training at the WWE Performance Center, only one outstanding task remains for each of them: To develop into a WWE Superstar that not only China, but the entire world, can cheer for.

WWE RAW Results & Discussion (2/6)

1,102

The February 6th edition of WWE RAW takes place at the Moda Center in Portland, OR.

– Mick Foley and Stephanie McMahon are in the ring to start off RAW. Foley introduces Samoa Joe, but he’s not happy about it. Joe comes out, and Stephanie “corrects” Foley and gives Joe and more enthusiastic introduction. They announce that they’re about to sign Joe, but Stephanie gets in Foley’s face about his attitude first. Joe grabs the mic next and cuts a promo on Foley, then says he’s putting the whole RAW roster on notice. Joe says “the destroyer has arrived” and no one can stop him. Joe signs his contract, then Roman Reigns comes out to interrupt. Reigns says if Joe doesn’t shut his mouth, he’s going to shut it for him. Foley books Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe for later tonight. Foley tells them to have a nice day, and Joe heads to the back with Stephanie.

Nia Jax def. Charlotte: Nia controls the opening minutes of the match and keeps Bayley grounded. Nia continues to overpower Bayley until Bayley comes back with some kicks and a flying knee in the corner. Bayley follows up with some elbows, but Nia blocks one then drops Bayley with a clothesline. Things go to the outside where Bayley pushes Nia into the ring post. Bayley rolls back in the ring and starts counting out Nia, but Charlotte runs in and distracts the referee. Bayley beats down Charlotte, then Nia comes in and hits a Samoan Drop on Bayley for the win.

Braun Strowman def. Four jobbers: This one is a four-on-one handicap match. Strowman drops all four jobbers with right hands early on. He continues the offense with running splashes in the corner, then one of the jobbers leaves the ring and runs to the back. Strowman hits a vertical suplex on one, then some repeated strikes to the head of another. Strowman hits a running powerslam on the other remaining jobber, then stacks them on top of each other and pins them for the win. After the match, Strowman cuts a promo on Foley for not giving him competition, and he says he’s coming to find Foley.

– We go backstage where Strowman finds Foley. Strowman demands more competition, so Foley gives him a match against Roman Reigns at Fastlane in four weeks. Strowman seems pleased with this, and walks away.

Akira Tozawa def. Drew Gulak: After some chain wrestling early on, they start trading chops to the chest then Tozawa starts working on Gulak with kicks. Tozawa hits a hurricanrana that sends Gulak to the apron, then he forearms him out to ringside. Ultimate Warrior’s Wife Signs With WWE as Brand Ambassador

14

Dana Warrior, wife of late WWE Hall of Famer Ultimate Warrior, announced on Monday that she’s signed a multi-year deal with WWE to serve as a brand ambassador.

“On January 27, 2017 a contract between WWE and myself was officially executed. I could not be more excited about becoming an official part of the WWE family… although I always felt I was one. I have an opportunity now to work at WWE as a Brand Ambassador. The relationship with WWE has built slowly and meaningfully; the way good ones do. From day one it was my mission to preserve my late husband’s legacy and ensure his Warriors around the world continued access to his brand of inspiration. I could not have anticipated all the Ultimate Warriorways WWE would partner with me and then go beyond in sewing Ultimate Warrior into their universe’s fabric. I could not have predicted how through this company I would find and develop myself, cultivate and unearth my skills.

My roots were already at WWE; they’ve given me a place to struggle through growing pains but ultimately bloom. This contract is affirmation of crossing into a new era of Warrior. The next phase honors the Warrior Women amongst us who carry the mantle too. WWE has been championing women emerging as athletes, executives, and business pioneers all along. I am honored to be amongst so many I admire and deeply respect.

Personally, this opportunity feels like the ultimate ‘Always Believe’ moment. It makes worth every sleepless night, every sacrifice, every moment of doing what scared the blonde out of my hair to do. It is proof if you work diligently you can prove yourself an asset, not a project. It is proof that hard work feels better than being handed something. For me, it is an example to my own Warrior Girls service to others is the greatest gift we give yielding ultimate reward.”
