Bayley On Eva Marie, Being NXT Women’s Champion, & More

22

With NXT TakeOverL Respect taking place tomorrow night, NXT Women’s Champion Bayley did some media to push the show, which she’s main eventing against Sasha Banks in a 30 minute Iron Man Match. As has become common on WWE media days, one of those interviews was with RollingStone.com. Here are some of the highlights:

On who she wants to work with and why:

And this might sound bad, but I really want to work with Eva Marie, just because it seems like that’s what people want. [“Why would that sound bad?”] [Bayley laughs] My fans don’t like her, so I don’t want them to be like, “Oh, why do you want to work with her?” But the reason is because she’s a different competitor and I think we’d have an interesting dynamic. I get a lot of tweets about Eva, and I can’t blame the fans, because all they really know is what they see on Total Divas, and they base their cheers on that, I guess. I’ve never personally had a problem with her; I don’t see her much, but the shows that she has done, I’ve seen her progressing each match, each show, each training session. I know that the drive is there to get better, so it’s up to her to see how far she can go.

The responsibility of being NXT Women’s Champion:

I feel like this is a very important part of my career. With the top three girls gone, and me being the champion, I’ve never been the person in the locker room who’s been here the longest – it was always Sasha and Charlotte. And now that I’m literally the leader in the locker room, and the champion, it’s a huge opportunity for me to help girls while I have the chance. Girls who don’t have any experience at all, I’m asking to get matches with them, so I can help them and bring them up. Paige and Charlotte were very helpful to me when I first arrived. It’s really important; you can be the best wrestler in the world, and make the most money, but if you’re not a good person in the back, that says a lot about you. I’ve never wanted to be that person, because I’ve had so much help along the way and I want to continue that. I want everyone to be comfortable in the locker room and the ring, and be hungry to make this division even bigger than it already is.

There’s much more in the original article, including Bayley’s thoughts on her friends leaving for the main roster, the term “diva,” and much more.

Austin Speaks Out On Wrestlemania 32 Boycott Rumors

12

“Stone Cold” Steve Austin recently commented on widely-spread reports of him possibly boycotting Wrestlemania 32 if Michael Hayes wasn’t inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Hayes was recently on Ric Flair’s WOOOOO! Nation podcast, and Flair said that Austin had told him would not attend Wrestlemania 32 in Dallas if Hayes didn’t go in this year.

Austin addressed the issue with this tweet, saying it was a misquote, in not so many words:

Ethan Carter III Posts Statement On “Injunction” Against Matt Hardy & TNA

6

Ethan Carter III released the following official statement on social media regarding the “injunction” storyline with new TNA World Heavyweight Champion Matt Hardy.

My Official Statement Regarding ?#?BoundForGlory? and the ?#?injunction? against Matt Hardy as TNA Heavyweight Champion.

Hello,
My name is Ethan Carter the Third (the third of my name,) the only undefeated World Champion in TNA History and, as preposterous as this is to say, the only undefeated former World Champion in Wrestling History.

For the two years I’ve been in TNA I have thrived and succeeded. Like many, I started at the very bottom, I had to earn my successes. Fortunately I was blessed with determination, resolution, a formidable skill set, and most importantly, unwavering fan support. Through these gifts, the world watched on 7/01/15 EC3 (me) defeat the greatest champion of our time, Kurt Angle, and culminate a life’s work by becoming THE World Champion.

One does not take that honor lightly. As my reign as champion began, I made a promise wrestling fans across the globe that the sanctity of that title would be upheld. The World Title would be contested with one thing in mind.

FAIR COMPETITION.

Well FAIR COMPETITION is not what transpired on 10/04/15 in Charlotte, NC.

Collusion is defined as “secret cooperation for an illegal purpose” and in the court of public opinion, allow me to present you with the facts.

-The owner of the company, with her own interests in mind, change the originally scheduled EC3 v. Galloway World Title Match, to a triple threat AFTER the contracts were signed.

-The owner of the company changed the official of the contest without giving the champion more than one week’s notification.

-The official is not only a disgruntled former employee of the champion but also the FREAKING BROTHER OF THE CHALLENGER.

-The official was directly involved in the match’s conclusion by assaulting the champion.

Those are simply the facts.

These facts, this evidence of collusion, was enough that my legal team saw and was granted an injunction via the seventh circuit court that prevents Matt Hardy from appearing on Impact Wrestling as TNA World Champion.

Matt Hardy has two options now. Relinquish the title back to my possession, striking your win from the record books, and I will see it fit you have a one-on-one match in a fair setting, or, never appearing on TNA Television again.

I am the champion this company needs, and even through this tumultuous time I still feel deserves.

Justice will be served.

Thank you,
Ethan Carter III

Edge On Stephen Amell’s In-Ring Debut At SummerSlam, His Role In “The Flash” & More

3

WWE Hall Of Famer Edge (Adam Copeland) recently spoke to WWE.com to promote his role as super villain Atom Smasher on the hit CW series, “The Flash,” which premieres on Tuesday night at 8pm EST. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On how physical his role on “The Flash” was: “It was a walk in the park compared to WWE! Anytime I was asked if I could do something physical, I said “no problem.” There is one scene where I was held by wires up on my tip-toes, perpendicular to the floor, with a giant fan blowing at me and had to stand perfectly straight without using my arms for about 30 minutes. Basically, I did a 30-minute plank. It was a great workout. The next day, my butt was sore. That’s probably too much information.”

On how Stephen Amell did in his in-ring debut at WWE SummerSlam: “He did a good job. No matter what kind of shape you’re in, wrestling is a different kind of cardio, and there is no way to prepare for it other than wrestling every night. I briefly chatted with him beforehand and was happy to find out that he’s a lifelong fan and fellow Toronto-kid. For someone who used to go see WWE at Maple Leaf Gardens and went to WrestleMania VI, he got to live out one of his dreams of competing in WWE.

He wasn’t there to promote the new season of “Arrow,” because it was nowhere near the season premiere. He was actually in the midst of filming the season, which is crazy. Being the lead of that series and having everyone depend on him to show up for work, if anything had gone wrong in the match, that would have been very bad for everyone who works on that show. I respect the fact that he just wanted to do it because of how big a WWE fan he is.”

Hogan On New Gawker Case Developments: “It’s A Beautiful Day”

21

A third party forensic investigation of Gawker’s computers has been approved. There will be an in-depth search of their offices to discover whether the company had illegally leaked transcripts of the Hulk Hogan sex tapes to the National Enquirer and RadarOnline.com, which led to Hogan’s WWE firing.

According to F4WOnline.com, Gawker could lose the equivalent of a summary judgment if they were found to be behind the leak, which would be the best case scenario for Hogan, as it would avoid having to go through a highly public and embarrassing trial.

Hogan was so happy with these proceedings he exclaimed that “It’s a beautiful day,” as he left the courtroom. Prior to the forensic investigation being approved, fifteen separate documents were sealed in the interest of Hogan’s privacy.

These developments are clearly not in Gawker’s favor and they vented their frustration over the judge’s decision to keep most of the lawsuit’s confidential records sealed in an official statement afterwards:

“Given the obvious public interest in this case, it is truly unfortunate that a large number of records remain hidden, and that the public is prevented from seeing both sides’ arguments and the basis for many of the court’s most significant rulings, The public should be able to know what happens in its court system.?”

Kelly Kelly On WWE Not Supporting Her New Show, The Rock/Baywatch & More

25

Former WWE Diva Kelly Kelly recently spoke with Scott Fishman of Channel Guide Magazine to promote tonight’s “WAGS” season finale on the E! network. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On WWE not supporting the show: “My family and friends have been number one fans. They have watched every week. They are so supportive of it. The lead-in is ‘Total Divas.’ So it’s perfect because fans want to also know what it’s like after WWE and what life is like. It’s the perfect transition into that. You know WWE hasn’t been very supportive, so that’s kind of upsetting. I’ve gave them so many years. We’re on the same network. We are right after ‘Total Divas.’

“They just haven’t given any support whatsoever. They support when guys do other things outside of the business like The Rock and Steve Austin. They support them fully. For me, it’s like really? We didn’t have a falling out. I left on good terms. Now that I’m doing this on my own, and I’m on the same network, you could be more supportive. So that has been upsetting, but people I used to work with and a lot of the wrestlers watch it. So that’s great to have their support. Maryse came on this season, so that was cool. It has been good.”

On possibly starring as CJ Perry with The Rock in Baywatch: “That would be the role of a lifetime. I have kind have been talking to The Rock here and there. He is like, “I’m rooting for you. We’ll see what happens.” Every hot actress, model, athlete is going out for this role, but you never know how things. He was like, ‘You’d be perfect for it. I was like, ‘Yay! I’m going to try to use my Twitter following to my advantage. Let’s just put this out there.’”

Brock Lesnar, Paul Heyman & Big Show Kick Off RAW

This week’s edition of WWE RAW kicks off in Boston with a video package look at the history between Seth Rollins and Kane. After the lengthy video package, Michael Cole welcomes us inside the TD Garden in Boston, the site of tonight’s show.

From there, Brock Lesnar’s music hits and out comes The Beast Incarnate accompanied by Paul Heyman. The music dies down and the “Suplex City” chants immediately echo throughout the TD Garden as the big fella wears an ear-to-ear grin and soaks up the noise.

Heyman starts off by introducing himself as the advocate for the giant slayer and the conquerer of the streak. We see some still images of Lesnar manhandling Big Show at MSG this past weekend. He goes on to talk about “the lair of the beast” — which is what he calls Hell In A Cell.

Heyman says Undertaker calls Hell In A Cell “his match.” “My ass,” says Heyman. He says Undertaker also thought WrestleMania was his show — until he stepped into the ring with Brock Lesnar. With that said a video package is shown of Lesnar beating Taker and ending his streak at WrestleMania.

After the video package, Heyman goes back into storytelling mode and talks about the soul searching Taker had to do after that night. He says he realized that he’s not “dead man enough to get revenge on Brock Lesnar.” With that said, we see highlights of the controversial finish to their WrestleMania rematch at SummerSlam.

Heyman says his client never had to use a low blow against The Undertaker. He plugs Lesnar’s appearance on the Stone Cold Podcast later this month, as well as “the very last time ever Brock Lesnar will ever fight The Undertaker.” He says one man will emerge the victor, the other will not walk out of the Hell In A Cell — at all. He says that’s not a prediction, that is a spoiler!

As Heyman wraps up with his “glory, glory” song remix, Big Show’s music hits. Lesnar grins as he watches the giant make his way into the ring.

Big Show talks about Suplex City and his fight with Lesnar at Madison Square Garden on Saturday’s WWE Network special. He talks about how close he was to wiping Lesnar’s grin (which he is still wearing) off of his face. Big Show says because he’s the bigger man, he’s going to call it like it is — he says Lesnar is the beast. A man among boys. He extends his hand to Lesnar, but Lesnar grins and walks away.

Show calls Lesnar arrogant and says he hopes he loses to Undertaker — again. Lesnar stops in his tracks and re-enters the ring. He belly-to-belly suplexes Big Show. Lesnar blasts Show with an F-5 and puts his grin back on his face. His music plays as he finally exits the ring and heads to the back with Paul Heyman.

Backstage: Seth Rollins & Stephanie McMahon

Backstage, Rollins is complaining to Stephanie about what just happened, because Big Show was to be his partner tonight. He asks what he’s supposed to do — face The Dudley Boyz by himself? Stephanie says she doesn’t know. She says Rollins says he’s the man, so figure it out. He walks off all upset.

Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose & Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper & Braun Strowman

From there, we head back inside the TD Garden where Roman Reigns’ music hits. He makes his way to the ring through the crowd as he will team with Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton to take on The Wyatt Family in six-man tag-team action. On that note, we head to a commercial break.

We return from the break to see Ambrose and Orton finishing up their entrances. From there, the lights go down as The Wyatt Family make their way to the ring. The bell rings and the match begins. Early in the match, Orton takes the lead and throws The Wyatt Family out of the ring to the floor.

We come back from commercial break with. Ambrose took Harper to the corner where Orton tags in Reigns. Ambrose is tossed to the floor by Strowman. Strowman climbs back to his spot on the side of the ring and is tagged in. Strowman body slams Ambrose. Bray is tagged in next with a quick roll up, Ambrose kicks out.

Harper tags in Bray. Reigns wills Ambrose to fight back and looks for the tag in. Ambrose builds momentum and begins punishing The Wyatt’s. Orton is tagged in and power slams Harper. Roman Reigns is tagged in next and clears the ring. Reigns has his eyes set on Bray on the outside of the ring. Ambrose is pulled off of Wyatt by Harper.

Reigns body slams Harper, who retaliates with a kick to the face. Wyatt goes for his finisher but Orton counters with an RKO. Reigns spears Harper for the 1-2-3 win.

Winner: Randy Orton & Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose
