The talk within WWE right now is that Vince McMahon is putting enormous pressure on the WWE creative team specifically because of the September 21st rating for WWE RAW, which was the post-Night Of Champions edition of the show.
It appears that panic didn’t set in for the low ratings the previous two weeks, as WWE conveniently used the Labor Day holiday and the start of the NFL’s Monday Night Football season as excuses for the low numbers, however when the 9/21 number came in, everything changed.
Generally when WWE runs big angles at a pay-per-view, it is to boost the television ratings the following night, in basic “cliffhanger” fashion, however when WWE took that approach this past weekend and it resulted in an all-time low audience, it was the first time the term “panic” has been thrown around behind-the-scenes in WWE regarding ratings in quite a while.
TNA President Dixie Carter has announced that the October 30th TNA live event in New Orleans will actually be a TNA “One Night Only: Battle of New Orleans” pay-per-view taping.

E! issued a press release this week to hype the season finale of the current season of the popular WWE reality show, “Total Divas.”

The current belief within WWE right now is that “interesting changes” are expected to happen to SmackDown when the program moves to USA Network in January.
As one would expect, they are looking for a new look for the show once they debut on the new cable network channel, as well as some new ideas for the show itself.
The expectation is the same as in many similar cases in the past, in that WWE will stack the deck for the first month or two, however gradually, once the show is no longer WWE’s “new toy,” it will slowly change back to the same show everyone has been used to for years.
As shown above WWE 2K have released a brand new trailer highlighting the My Career mode which this year gives you a whole new range of options to play through.
In My Career mode in WWE 2K16 your character can now become a big name in WWE NXT, join a tag team, battle the Authority, make it to the Hall of Fame, and much more!
WWE 2K16 will be released on the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One consoles in North America on the 27th of October, with the international release a few days later on the 30th of October.
During his match at WWE Night of Champions this past weekend against Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, Sting was visibly injured after taking a running powerbomb into the turnbuckle.
On watching the match live and again on demand you could see Sting’s head snap back on contact with the turnbuckle and it was moments later that it was apparent he couldn’t shake this off.
His legs gave way but he got back to his feet, it was a second time that his legs gave way and he collapsed again, it was during this time that the referee paused the match and called in the trainer.
Sting would go on to lose the match to Seth Rollins and since then the rumor mill has been spinning with regards to just how serious Sting’s injury was. He has now spoken with WWE.com. Highlights are below.
WWE.com asked if can set the record straight on the extent of his injury:
Bottom line, I had tingling, numbness down both arms, all the way to my fingertips. And then, later in the match, I just fell wrong, whatever it was, and this time [the tingling and numbness] went down both arms and into my legs, and I couldn’t feel my legs too well. They just felt like rubber. I don’t know how to describe it. I had to go down on all fours there for a minute, get my composure. I was a little … I was worried.
Long term, well, I’m just going to take care of the short term first and see how the long term might play out.
Sting was asked about what treatment he received following his match at Night of Champions:
I was out in the hospital — out like a light. They had a neck brace on me, and they were pumping me with [medication] to get me out of pain. I had to do a CT scan and an MRI. They ended up talking to my wife, and I have some details from my wife, but I still have [further evaluation ahead]. They mentioned cervical spinal stenosis, but that’s only part of what I heard. I don’t know if there’s anything else. The doctor did tell my wife, “He’s going to have to get this dealt with. He’s lucky he walked out of there.”

WWE.com then asked Sting whether or not he would get back into the ring again to which he replied that he would, but only in the right scenario.
Sting went on to explain that he was aware that on both times into the turnbuckle that he was injured, the first being like whiplash and the second being a lot worse.
He also recalled what was going through his mind when the referee stopped the match and he was being looked at by the WWE trainer:
The referee, the doctor, they’re all in there talking to me: “Are you OK? What’s going on? Can you continue? Are you all right? Tell us what’s happening.” And the whole time, I’m just thinking, “Oh, man, not now,” I mean, I want this to be good, you know? And if it ends up being the last thing I ever do in the ring, I don’t want to go out like this.
“God help me.” I’m trying to just shake it off, you know? “C’mon, c’mon.” I’m stamping my feet or moving my toes, just trying to get a feel back, get my legs back underneath me. It started to kind of clear up a little bit. My fingers were still tingling and all that, but my legs were not at that point. I said, “Let me try to continue, let’s just try it.” So I just stood up and walked away from them, and we continued.

2K are set to release WWE 2K16 at the end of October and one surprise addition to the roster this year was that of Arnold Schwarzenegger who is also known as The Terminator.
The actor was added to the game as a preorder exclusive and will be available as two different playable characters – one from 1984 and another from 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
IGN caught up with Schwarzenegger ahead of the release of the game and spoke about what his wrestler name would be, others he’d like to see in the WWE and who is stronger between him and Brock Lesnar.
If he were to get into the ring, what his wrestler name would be:
Maybe the Austrian Oak, which is what people called me in bodybuilding. I think I would have been a good guy, not a heel. But I’ve loved playing both – I’m the only person on both the “Best Villains” and “Best Heroes” list as Terminator.
IGN also asked which other characters of his he’d like to see in the WWE:
Not mine, but a character I have fought: the Predator. Can you imagine the Predator jumping into the ring?
When he was in his prime IGN asked who was stronger, him or Brock Lesnar:
I’ve stood next to Brock. He is a monster. I am not sure I would want to ever compete in a lifting tournament with someone that big.
Just who are Arnold’s favourite wrestlers of all time:
I love them all, The Rock, Stone Cold, but I really identify with Bruno Sammartino. He is a fellow immigrant, and he is truly a legend. He sold out Madison Square Garden 187 times! And he is so powerful.
I remember the first time I saw him picking up someone over his head. Imagine the power. And he is the sweetest, most inspirational guy.

Tag-team legends The Dudley Boyz — Bubba Ray and Devon — were Michael Cole’s guests on this week’s WWE.com sit-down interview.
During the interview, which you can watch above, Devon noted that they were overwhelmed by the reception they received for their WWE return on RAW in Brooklyn, New York. Bubba Ray added that the great part about the whole situation was that it was kept a secret.
Regarding what The Dudley Boyz have been doing over the past ten years, Bubba Ray said, “everything,” while Devon mentioned All Japan Pro Wrestling (AJPW) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), however neither alluded to TNA Wrestling in any way, unless you count Devon saying that they have been active all over the world, as they go “non-stop.” (Total “Non-Stop” Action)?
Bubba Ray Dudley then spoke about how he saw the once nearly insignificant WWE tag-team division begin to thrive once again, particularly because of The New Day, and said that it was time for The Dudley Boyz to help get the WWE tag-team scene back to where it once was, and where he feels it belongs again today.
Michael Cole then brought up The New Day and asked if they feel they are entertaining. Devon said that they are a good team and they are very entertaining, but that they are also “kick-ass guys.” He mentions that The New Day is trying to follow in the footsteps of The Dudley Boyz because they are doing everything that The Dudley Boyz used to do to get attention.
Finally, Cole brings up the fact that The Dudley Boyz will be challenging The New Day for the WWE Tag-Team Championships at the next live WWE Network special, scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2015 from Madison Square Garden in New York City. As far as that fact is concerned, Bubba Ray mentions that it doesn’t get any better than to win the titles back in their hometown, especially in a building like MSG.

Coming out of this past Sunday’s WWE Night of Champions pay-per-view event, there was a throughline to the big news stories: Wrestler safety. On the undercard, we saw the latest in the series of recent fan run-ins/attacks on wrestlers, leading to the fan in question getting arrested. In the main event, Sting suffered some kind of neck injurytaking a turnbuckle powerbomb from Seth Rollins, and it was bad enough that they quickly went to the finish. On the surface, they’re separate problems, but the safety issue ties them together. WWE already appears to be increasing security to deal with unruly fans, so we’ll set that aside for today.
Sting’s injury gave me a lot of pause about both WWE using older wrestlers (especially in a main event position) and the type of moves they allow. Sting is in fantastic shape for a 56 year old man, but he’s still a 56 year old man. The buckle bomb, as Seth Rollins normally does it, is relatively safe, and it looks that way, too. Just look at how Rob Van Dam took it:

The goal is to come down as parallel to the ring post as possible, the way Van Dam did. Personally, I always thought the move was kind dumb because of how obviously Rollins is trying to protect his opponent. If you want the move to look “good,” you do it the way guys like Ricky Marvin did:

Of course, that’s clearly many orders of magnitude more dangerous than the way Rollins usually does it. If there’s no real middle ground and the safer version looks ineffectual, why do it in the first place?
Sunday at Night of Champions, Sting hit the turnbuckles much more folded over than Van Dam did in the first example. This type of newer spot that uses the areas of the ring you’r not supposed to bump on require incredible body control and timing ven by pro wrestling standards. If I had to hazard a guess, maybe a 56 year old man who barely wrestles anymore doesn’t have the reflexes to ever take the buckle bomb correctly. That’s nothing against Rollins, and he could very well have done everything on his end correctly, but my gut is that whoever produced the match for them should have nixed that spot. Maybe it was just a miscommunication and Sting could hav taken it safely, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Sting’s injury reminded me of how a couple months ago at Battleground, for whatever reason, the show was full f wrestlers taking bumps on the ring apron. Apron bumps were popularized on the independent scene in the IWS promotion in Quebec where Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn first made a name for themselves. The whole point is that everyone knows it’s legitimately unsafe (again, but relative standards) to bump on the apron because of the lack of give. It’s just a cheap pop, especially when it happens repeatedly on the same card, and Battleground showed a surprising lack of continuity in WWE when it came to limiting those spots. Like with a man nearing his 60s taking a buckle bomb, it’s hard to believe it happened.
Of course, there’s also the question of whether or not someone Sting’s age should even be taking bumps, doing dives etc. I hesitate to say they shouldn’t wrestle at all because you can work a simple, safe match, but Sting being expected to work a 2015 WWE main event style match with modern indie influences was not smart. He’s a beloved legend who still looks really athletic doing his trademark spots and should not have been put in that position when something safer would have sufficed.
After thinking about it for a few days, my gut says WWE needs to b more diligent about cutting guys off and not letting them wrestle past a certain age. Jerry Lawler was, by all appearances, an ageless freak of nature who could wrestle forever until his heart stopped right after a match on Raw. Ricky Steamboat suffered a brain bleed much worse than most fans realized after the 2010 angle where the Nexus attacked him. Hulk Hogan, who has no business taking a bump these days, took one on the floor at WrestleMania, though he may have gone into business for himself on that spot.
And that’s is really part of the problem: You can’t guarantee that they’ll agree to work a restricted style while they’re amped up in the ring. WWE has been pretty careful as of late with how they’ve used older wrestlers, but they’re in a business where they can never be too careful.
WWE is loading up the October 19th edition of WWE RAW from Dallas, Texas with special appearances from several Hall of Famers and legends. Already announced for the show are “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

Akira Hokuto(real name Hisako Sasaki), best known in the west as the only WCW Women’s Champion, announced on her blog (Japanese) that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Mainstream Japanese sites like Huffington Post Japan have picked up the story. No real proper translation has shown up yet, so some of the details are still vague, but what’s clear is that doctors have discovered a malignant tumor in her right breast and she’s going to be undergoing surgery. The details lost in translation are just how major the surgery is (removing the tumor vs. removing the entire breast or both breasts).
In Japan, there are cultural taboos and superstition when it comes to talking about cancer. When past Japanese wrestling superstars, like Giant Baba, had cancer, it was kept quiet. When Baba passed away, it was reported as being from “internal organ disease,” Hokuto is a huge mainstream television star in Japan, regularly appearing on talk shows, variety shows, travel shows, etc. She has enough of a media presence that speaking openly about her battle with cancer (and especially breast cancer) could legitimately have a pretty big cultural impact.
Hokuto is usually considered, at worst, on of the five greatest female workers of all time. Under her real (maiden) name of Hisako Uno, she was being groomed for stardom by the All Japan Women promotion in the late ’80s when she broke her neck taking a second rope tombstone piledriver in the first fall of a best two out of three falls match. Somehow, she finished the match, which was the beginning of her well-earned reputation for toughness and working through injuries. She returned as “Dangerous Queen” Akira Hokuto and made her mark one of the very best in the world regardless of gender throughout the ’90s and into the early aughts.

On “The Demon” Kane: “Kane in the mask is good for me. I like that level of nostalgia. Not sure where it’s headed nor do I care. I will stay tuned. I’m not prouder of any one that I’ve signed more than Glenn Jacobs who has become a Hall of Famer in life which is where the “money” is.”
On Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns: “Putting Chris Jericho vs. Roman Reigns down the road is smart booking.”
On Sting’s condition: “Sources say that Sting is awaiting results of multiple tests on his neck that was injured on Sunday night. Hopefully, the info will be positive for a guy I’ve known his entire career since the Mid South days.”

WWE Hall Of Famer Scott Hall recently spoke with the folks at Title Match Wrestling about why he didn’t receive as many world title shots as others did, as well as the back-story behind an incident involving Ultimate Warrior during his WWE run.
“I was doing whatever was asked of me,” said Hall of not being put in many world title matches. “I looked at it as being a team player, whatever the team needed me to do on pay-per-view. Whether it was being on first or being on last.
Hall was also asked about some major reshuffling that took place prior to WWE Survivor Series 1992, as significant roster changes prevented the originally scheduled line-up from taking place.
“It was supposed to be Flair and I against Warrior and Savage. Warrior had a history of holding Vince up for money before pay-per-views to get his guarantees, and Vince called his bluff. They had to substitute for Warrior, so they brought Mr. Perfect in,” Hall said.
“I was told prior to the match I was going to break Randy’s leg and retire him. But when you have a substitute, you have to feature the substitute, so I think I got PerfectPlex’d and Flair got PerfectPlex’d.”
Daniel Bryan recently spoke with Sport 360 about his health, his in-ring future and being stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back in 2014.
After overcoming the odds in 2014, riding the wave of the Yes! Movement and capturing the WWE World Heavyweight championship at WrestleMania XXX, Bryan’s world fell apart when his father passed away shortly after and doctors told him he was working with a career-threatening neck injury. Bryan said:
“It’s was very frustrating, but more the health aspect of it is: the title part isn’t the big deal. The big deal is how wrestling is the way I express myself creatively, not being able to do it has made me frustrated. I’ve tried to transition this into gardening, but it’s not the same. I’m working on it though!
“When I came back from neck surgery I felt like I didn’t miss a bit in terms of fan support. It will be interesting to see what it will be like when/if I come back from this one. I feel like when you get multiple injuries then fans start to lose faith in you.”
His latest hiatus from the ring has to do with concussions. WWE doctors haven’t cleared him to wrestle, but Bryan is optimistic that he’ll be back in action one day.
“No, at least not in my mind. WWE might be thinking that, but I feel great. I feel like I’m ready to wrestle. If they called me to wrestle tomorrow, I would. It’s just a matter of getting cleared. I’ve had a long history of concussions, so they are a bit hesitant to get me back.”

WWE is cracking down on fans who jump the ringside gates and insert themselves into the show. The latest incident took place at Sunday’s Night of Champions pay-per-view, with Oscar Ramirez of Houston, TX entering the ring and standing next to Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns.
WWE pressed charges and Ramirez will spend 10 days in jail after pleading guilty to criminal trespass of a property or building with no forced entry.
Chris Jericho tweeted the following about the incident:
So the jackass who jumped in the ring at #nightofchampions got sentenced to jail time. Let this be a lesson to all…stay out of OUR ring! ?
WWE taped this week’s episode of SmackDown on Tuesday night from Corpus Christi, TX at the American Bank Center. Here are spoiler results, courtesy of Andy Ravens:
– Kane walks down to the ring to open the show. He cuts a promo about being back in WWE and how happy he is. He said that WWE is on fire right now then announces Kevin Owens and Rusev vs. Dolph Ziggler and Ryback plusRoman Reigns vs. Luke Harper with Dean Ambrose banned from ringside. Seth Rollins walked out to the stage and said that Kane needs to stop pretending who he is. He brought up RAW and that Kane is playing everyone by being corporate Kane. This leads to Kane asking Rollins nicely, then after Rollins refusing too, demanded that Rollins walk down to the ring. Rollins said that Kane needs help and Kane said that he would take Rollins’ advice. Kane booked Rollins vs. Ambrose in the main event.
– Singles Match: Roman Reigns defeated Luke Harper with a spear.
– There is a New Day segment shown.
– New Day cuts a pre-match promo about how they will avoid going through a table and retain their Tag Team Championships against The Dudley Boyz at the MSG live special on October 3rd.
– Six-Man Tag Team Match: The New Day defeated The Lucha Dragons and Neville.
– Singles Match: Cesaro defeated Bo Dallas.
– Charlotte and Becky Lynch are in the ring cutting a promo about Paige turning on them on Monday’s RAW. This leads to Paige walking down to the ring. Paige talks about starting the Divas Revolution and how she’s the one who should be thanked for it, not them. Natalya interrupts and walks down to the ring. Natalya said that Paige should be happy with how things are now. Paige wanted change and that’s what she got. Paige agreed, but also stated that Natalya let the Revolution pass her by and now she’s trying to be relevant. Paige slaps Natalya and leaves the ring.
– Tag Team Match: Ryback and Dolph Ziggler defeated Rusev and Kevin Owens when Owens left ringside, which distracted Rusev enough to turn around into a superkick by Ziggler.
– Main Event: Dean Ambrose defeated Seth Rollins when Kane’s music hit, which distracted Rollins enough for Ambrose to pick up the victory.
Post-match, Rollins grabbed the microphone and said that he is tired of the mind games by Kane. This leads to the pyro on the ring posts going off, which scares Rollins and he ran to the back as Kane is shown on the titantron laughing to close the show.
WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated the Q&A section of his website and commented on Sting suffering a neck injury at Sunday’s night of Champions pay-per-view.
A fan said it looked like Rollins botched a move on Sting and asked at what point Rollins would get heat for injuring opponents. JR said, “It’s a physical business and certainly isn’t ballet. Accidents happen. If a trend develops, and two situations isn’t a trend, then you may have a valid point.”
In response to a question about the way Rollins has been booked lately, JR replied, “Booking is highly subjective and can’t truly be judged over the short term. I’d likely tweak how Rollins is being booked, but that doesn’t make me right either. I think WWE is setting him up for an eventual ‘face turn down the road and I have no issues with where Seth is at this time at it’s a marathon and not a sprint even though many fans today have little to no patience.”
Former WWE Superstar “Leapin'” Lanny Poffo, who also had a run in the company as the character, “The Genius,” recently posted a new video where he takes some high-ranking political figures to task regarding some of their recent decisions.

If you thought that the recent string of fans hitting the ring during matches involving former Shield members Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose was an angle, we can now be pretty certain it wasn’t. Today, PWInsider.com reported that the fan who jumped the rail and ran in the ring as Reigns and Ambrose uneviled mystery partner Chris Jericho at Night of Champions has not only been charged, but will be doing some jail time.
Oscar Ramirez, a 37 year old fan from Houston, Texas, was dressed in Shield attire and started posing before he was quickly removed by security and arrested. He was charged with criminal trespass of a property or building with no forced entry. Within hours, Ramirez entered a guilty plea and will serve 10 days in jail. If found guilty at a trial, he could have been sentenced to six months behind bars.
Until the fan was identified, the incident was used by a few fans as proof that the whole series of incidents had been a work. At least in the screenshots of his brief on-camera appearance, he had more than a passing resemblance to NXT referee and former independent wrestler Drake “Drake Younger” Wuertz. This caused Drake t take to Twitter to make it clear that he had not appeared on the pay-per-view:
