The description for the film reads: “A shy small town teenager is thrust into spotlight when he wins the lottery on his 18th birthday. What at first seems like a dream come true… FILMING 2015!”

Below are some photos of Edge on the set and behind-the-scenes of the movie.

Mick Foley: “We Need A Women’s Pipebomb”

72

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley recently posted a new blog on his official Facebook page about the ongoing “Diva Revolution” in WWE.

Check out Foley’s latest blog below.

WE NEED A WOMEN’S PIPEBOMB

“Stephanie McMahon did a great job of kicking off the #DivaRevolution on July 13. Really, she did. She gave a great, heartfelt introduction to three of the brightest stars on the WWE horizon – Charlotte BeckyLynch and SashaBanks. It was a night that literally brought tears of joy to my eyes. So why, just five weeks later, have those tears of joy been replaced by the anger and embarrassment of hearing “we want Lesnar” chants during the Banks/Nikki Bella match?

Quite simply, we need a women’s pipebomb. Stephanie may have kicked off the #DivaRevolution on WWE Raw – but we need a Diva/woman/female competitor to take that ball and run with it. We can’t just gradually be SHOWN the revolution. WE can’t have the revolution EXPLAINED to us. We need one of the participants to make us FEEL it. We NEED that promo that perfectly captures the time and place, the pride and passion of this revolution. We NEED a CM Punk pipebomb. We NEED that “Austin 3;16 says I just whipped your ass” moment, that Dusty Rhodes “Hard Times” promo – something that hammers home the point to even the densest, drunkest members of the ?#?WWEUniverse? that times have changed – and chanting for anyone – even if it is a returning hometown hero like Brock Lesnar – while women are working their asses off to entertain them is not just disrespectful, but unacceptable.”

Foley continued, “As a wrestling fan, I was embarrassed. As a friend of both participants in the match, I was hurt. In my wrestling days, I would have tapped into those feelings of embarrassment and hurt and let it out in a promo. Often, those promos were effective; in a few cases, they even became iconic. Not once did I feel that one of those promos would have been better served by committee. I know that times have changed, and that the days of sending a superstar out to the ring with just a microphone and a deep-seeded belief in the importance of their message are largely over. But why not take a chance and let one of the women walk out to the ring with that same opportunity I was given? The same opportunity Punk was given…and Austin…and Dusty…and Flair…and Funk – and so many of the masters of the microphone who won us over with their passion, while not giving a damn about grammar, sentence structure, witty retorts and back and forth banter. John Cena was given the ball last night, and took it in for that figurative touchdown. Heyman is almost other-worldly in his conversion ratio. I honestly don’t know if any of the women can deliver on the microphone with the effectiveness of a Cena or a Heyman. But they deserve the chance to try. All I am saying, is #GiveDivasaChance.

To this day, I count the lyrics to a 1983 David Allen Coe song “The Ride” as one of the driving forces of my career. Dean Ambrose even quoted it a couple of years ago. I get goosebumps each time I hear it or even read it.

He said, “Drifter can ya make folks cry when you play and sing?
Have you paid your dues, can you moan the blues?
Can you bend them, guitar strings?”
He said, “Boy can you make folks feel what you feel inside?
‘Cause if you’re big star bound let me warn ya, it’s a long, hard ride.”

Maybe early-80’s outlaw country isn’t going to inspire every wrestler the way it inspired me…or Ambrose…and possibly a few others along the way. If not, I urge the women to find whatever it is out there that inspires them; that will allow them to be ready when asked to explain the significance of this moment in time. Do whatever it is that allows you to keep your “pipebomb” at your disposal. In the end, making folks feel what you feel inside is what this business is all about.

Just remember, it’s a long, hard ride.

– Lesnar says he feels good and is excited to take The Undertaker to Suplex City at SummerSlam. He talks about ending The Streak and says it was a weird experience. Lesnar says he will take the win and at the end of the day, it was a business decision made by Vince McMahon.

– When asked about Dana White’s recent controversial tweet about pro wrestling being “fake,” Lesnar said of course it’s fake, everybody knows that, but Dana is still promoting the same thing WWE is promoting. Lesnar says it just happens WWE gets more longevity out of their fighters. He says if you can’t turn WWE on Monday nights and can’t get entertainment out of the show, something’s wrong with you. Lesnar called it the same racket. He believes Vince McMahon may be better than Dana and that may rub Dana the wrong way. Lesnar says Vince is a pioneer and is damn good at what he does.

– Lesnar says he loves being in the ring and it’s all about performing. Lesnar says that’s why he’s here.

Dolph Ziggler Returns On RAW, Will Face Rusev At SummerSlam

18

Dolph Ziggler returned Monday night on RAW and will be squaring off against Rusev this Sunday at SummerSlam. He had been out of action for several weeks with a ‘throat injury’ (filming WWE Studios’ “6:42”) and resumed his romance with Lana and feud with the Bulgarian Brute.

Lana was ringside on commentary for Rusev’s match against Mark Henry. As the announcers talked about her recent issues with Rusev and Summer Rae, she said she’s not worried and teased she had something up her sleeve. Rusev defeated Henry in a hard fought match with the Accolade.

After Rusev and Summer Rae celebrated, Lana got into the ring, took her shoes off and began screaming at the heels. Lana pointed at Summer Rae and told her to get in the ring. She did just that. She took her shoes off, charged at Lana and got slapped in the face. Summer Rae went down hard. Lana then pointed at Rusev, who went face to face with his former manager. Just as Rusev was closing in on her, Lana looked to the entrance area with a smile.

Dolph Ziggler’s music hit and the show off sprinted to ringside. Ziggler took out Rusev with a flurry of offense and was about to deliver a superkick, before Rusev put Summer Rae in the way in cowardly fashion. Lana delivered a kick to Summer Rae’s head and Dolph Ziggler knocked Rusev out of the ring with a superkick.

The heels retreated while Ziggler and Lana celebrated in the ring. The two made out while Rusev flipped out at ringside.

Backstage, JoJo caught up with Ziggler and Lana. Ziggler said what he’s feeling right now is why this is the best job in the world. Ziggler challenged Rusev to a match at SummerSlam and declared that he’s back. Later in the show, they confirmed the match is official.

WWE RAW Opener:

The WWE SummerSlam “go-home” edition of RAW in Minneapolis, Minnesota opens up with Lilian Garcia immediately introducing The Authority — Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

“King of Kings” hits and out comes the power couple. Stephanie starts off by saying it’s exciting to be here because they have a lot of big things going on.

Both HHH and Steph talk about how SummerSlam and Takeover are sold out and how fans can watch it for only $9.99 on the WWE Network.

Triple H then goes on to introduce some of the matches scheduled for SummerSlam, starting with The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar. They say Taker and Lesnar are here tonight.

They introduce the title vs. title match between Seth Rollins and John Cena at SummerSlam. HHH talks about Cena breaking his nose and wanting revenge.

As music plays, the two go on to run down all of the matches at SummerSlam, giving brief histories behind the feuds as they do so. They then announce Jon Stewart will be hosting SummerSlam.

Randy Orton & Cesaro vs. Sheamus & Kevin Owens

HHH says the road to SummerSlam starts right here, right now. With that said, Randy Orton’s theme music hits and out he comes for our first match of the evening.

Lilian Garcia gets back on the mic and introduces “The Viper” as he walks to the ring for a big tag-team match to kick off tonight’s edition of RAW. On that note, we head to a commercial break.

When we return from our first break of the evening, Orton is still making his entrance. Out next is his partner for tonight’s RAW opening contest, Cesaro. The crowd gave Cesaro a huge pop when his music first out.

Out next are Orton and Cesaro’s opponents tonight. First, former NXT Champion Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring. Out next is his partner for this tag-team bout, “Mr. Money In The Bank,” Sheamus.

The action favors the babyfaces early on. Sheamus tags in so Orton asks Cesaro to tag him in. He obliges. Orton takes control. Cesaro blasts Owens with a big uppercut off the apron as we head to a mid-match commercial.

When we return from commercial, the action continues until finally, Owens blocks an Orton RKO, leading to Orton turning around and RKO’ing Sheamus instead. Cesaro yanks Owens out of the ring, Orton covers Sheamus and gets the 1-2-3.

Winners: Randy Orton & Cesaro

The Undertaker Addresses Brock Lesnar

Paul Heyman Talks In-Depth About This Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam PPV

6

Paul Heyman recently took part in a Q&A with WTOP out of Washington, D.C. to promote Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view. Below are some of the highlights.

On what Brock Lesnar is doing to get ready for SummerSlam: “The same thing he did to get ready for Wrestlemania 30. He’s training, he’s hunting, he’s eating right, he’s getting ready to just walk in the ring and destroy The Undertaker.”

On if Brock has to up his game to beat Undertaker again: “I think The Undertaker is the one who needs to up his game. I don’t understand why anybody doesn’t understand the correlation here. I don’t think The Undertaker wanted to lose at Wrestlemania 30 either, but he had no choice in the matter. He got his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar, he got beaten by Brock Lesnar, he got beat up by Brock Lesnar, he got victimized by Brock Lesnar, and he got conquered by Brock Lesnar. And the very same thing is going to happen next Sunday at SummerSlam.”

On The Undertaker’s time being up: “I didn’t say Undertaker’s time is up. That’s putting words in my mouth. I think if The Undertaker picked a fight with anybody right now, The Undertaker would easily win. I don’t see anybody being able to stand up to The Undertaker. There’s not a man alive right now that can step into the ring with The Undertaker who’s this driven, this focused and now has something to make up for since he lost at Wrestlemania 30. The problem is, The Undertaker isn’t fighting a man, he’s fighting a beast. He’s fighting a conqueror. He’s fighting a once-in-a-lifetime athlete named Brock Lesnar. So it’s no slight to The Undertaker that he’s going to get his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar. Any human being who steps in the ring with Brock Lesnar is going to get his ass kicked. It’s not even a fair fight!”

On why fans should look forward to John Cena vs. Seth Rollins at SummerSlam as well: “It’s a double title match. It’s a pretty interesting situation where one man is going to walk out with the undisputed WWE Heavyweight Championship of the World and the U.S. Championship, so it’s certainly not a match with just typical stakes on the line. It’s a match with both titles on the line, which I think is a unique situation with two of the top stars of not only the past year, but the past decade.”

Great Khali Talks About Randy Orton Giving Him Pain Pills So Strong His Legs Went Numb

20

Former WWE Superstar The Great Khali was recently profiled by the Indian Express newspaper in a piece looking at this wrestling school, Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE) academy. Khali spoke about his WWE run, operating his school at a financial loss and more.

One of the more interesting items from the interview was that Khali discussed Randy Orton providing him strong pain pills early in his WWE career to help with his knee pain. Khali noted that the pills were so strong, he couldn’t feel his legs and fell down as a result. #Wellness

Here are the highlights of what he said about:

Working with John Cena and Vince McMahon’s reaction: “A good match is about the chemistry between opponents. I loved working with Cena. He was always receptive to my ideas, even if they weren’t good. Because he was ready to try things, we delivered a great match. When we got backstage, McMahon hugged me and said I had put on a great show.”

His Wrestling School: “I still want to keep some connection with this industry. This was something I was born to do. I was always meant to be Khali. I dream of wrestling all the time. And then I get up and I realise that I am not wrestling anymore. But I still keep my pants with me — both in India and in Houston. You never know.”

Randy Orton giving him strong pain pills early in his WWE career: “The pills were so strong that I couldn’t feel my legs. My foot kept slipping and I fell.”

Khali started with WWE back in 2006, so the incident he’s referencing likely took place around 2006-2007. Orton has been suspended from WWE 4 times over the years for violating WWE’s Wellness policy (2005, 2006, 2007, 2012)

Bully Ray Reacts To UFC President Dana White Calling Wrestling Fake

8

Former WWE, TNA & ECW star Bully Ray is the latest pro wrestler to react to UFC President Dana White’s comments about wrestling being fake. During a recent appearance on the Chad Dukes Wrestling ShowRay pulled no punches and explained why “fake“ is such a bad word to describe pro wrestling:

“When it comes to the in ring action and physicality of what goes on in there, there is nothing fake about it. I put up a tweet the other day comparing pro wrestling to Cirque de Soleil. Cirque de Soleil is a choreographed athletic performance, so is wrestling. Does that make Cirque deSoleil any less real? All of the things that they’re doing, all the physicality, the gymnastics, the trapeze, the flips, the falls, everything, it’s all real, just like it is in the middle of a wrestling ring.”

“The term that I have always loved for pro wrestling and I don’t think many people in the United States have maybe even heard this term. It’s cool I like to refer to it as fighting opera.”

“As far as Dana is concerned, listen, he went out there he said something and I fired back with how I believe. I was not pissed, I’m not mad, I did think that he should have apologized to the wrestling world, not me individually or anybody individually. Come out and say, ‘Hey you know what, sorry I used used the word fake it’s definitely the wrong word.’ Because listen, if it wasn’t for pro wrestling, things like MMA would never exist. Pro wrestling is the foundation. Pro wrestling is the grandfather of all of these types of mixed martial arts and anything like that that you see on TV. Whenever there’s a pro wrestling aspect to the UFC is when they draw the biggest number. And that’s not just me talking out of my ass, Brock Lesnar was a professional wrestler first and a UFC fighter second. When they do their highest ratings when the pro wrestling guy was there. You know why? Because he had personality and he’s larger than life. So to say what we do is fake or you know the professional wrestling business doesn’t matter. It’s kind of ignorant.”
