As we have been reporting for a while now, Kevin Nash is rumored to be inducted into this year’s class of the WWE Hall Of Fame. According to a new PWInsider.com report, Nash is confirmed for this year’s class, and the current plan is to have Shawn Michaels do the induction.

Regarding the tag-team that WWE is teasing for Monday’s Hall Of Fame announcement on RAW, word is that it will be The Bushwhackers, Butch Miller and Luke Williams.

It’s also worth noting that plans to induct Larry Zbszyko will likely be postponed until a different year now that the final decisions have reportedly been made on this year’s class.

Update On Possible Plans For Samoa Joe’s Future

31

There’s a lot of speculation regarding where Samoa Joe will end up now that he is officially gone from TNA. Some are of the belief that he will return to Ring Of Honor, while others feel he may end up in Japan.

We noted earlier this week that there has been some interest shown on the past of WWE, as far as bringing Joe into the mix at NXT, as well as from several employees who mentioned in tweets that they would love to see him in the fold.

Another rumor going around is that Joe could end up showing up at Tommy Dreamer’s next House of Hardcore event, which takes place on March 7th in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Tag-Team To Be Announced For WWE Hall Of Fame On Monday’s RAW

WWE.com has a new article up titled, “WWE Hall Of Fame Class of 2015 inductees to be announced Monday.”

As the headline of the article states, a new inductee will be announced on RAW, however this time it will be a tag-team that gets their moment in the spotlight.

The article continues with the following teaser as to who the tag-team is:

“The mystery pair of legends will join “Macho Man” Randy Savage, celebrity inductee Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rikishi in the elite class. Who will enter the WWE Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania 31? Could it be a team famous for their camouflage gear? Could it be an ultra-popular pair of brothers or family members? How many tag team championships have they held? Is it possible that we will see a current Hall of Famer earn a second nod and join Ric Flair as a two-time inductee?”

Jake Roberts On A Possible In-Ring Return, Wanting To Work With Bray Wyatt & More

15

WWE Hall Of Famer Jake Roberts recently spoke with the folks at Nerd Repository to promote his new documentary, “The Resurrection of Jake “The Snake” Roberts.”

Below are highlights from the interview:

On when he found out pro wrestling wasn’t “real”: “It was horrible, man. All my life, I had always been worried for my father’s health. The matches he was going through, he was a main eventer, so he was doing a lot of cutting and bleeding… he was the focus on all the cards he was on. So to be terrified, as a child, thinking your dad’s gonna get killed… it really broke my heart, man. I was very upset, because I realized my father had played all of us kids. All those years, when we were scared to death for his safety, he was playing it… You look at your dad as the guy that would never lie to you, and never do anything wrong to you, and then you find out he’s a total con artist… I really wanted to throw up, man. I was devastated.”

On the positive reaction to his new documentary: “It feels great, and it also feels great when I’m getting feedback from people who are struggling with the problem that I had, or people that have maybe washed their hands of somebody in their family. Or maybe it’s a great friend they’ve washed their hands of, because that person has a problem. These people now are rethinking, they’re going out and giving that person another chance, and trying to help them.”

On if he’ll ever return to the ring in WWE: “I hope so. I’m going to talk to Vince McMahon [about it] at WrestleMania. I would like my last match, forever, to be at WrestleMania next year in Dallas, Texas. I would love to be on that show. I want to go out and give it my best, and I would be in much better shape than I probably was at the end of my career. I still believe there’s a lot of people out there who would like to see me have one more match. I would certainly like to do it… That would certainly be the greatest way to go out. I think that would be awesome, man.”

On who he’d like to face if he ever did return to the ring: “I’d like it to be a situation where it would help him. I can think of a thousand scenarios… ideally, it would be something with Bray Wyatt… [but] he doesn’t need Jake Roberts. So it’s gotta be somebody that’s on the way up, that needs a little extra ‘oomph’ like Steve Austin did. And we’ll see if I can’t help them out. Maybe it could be a situation where the winner must use the DDT, and from that point on, they’re the master of the DDT. How about that?”

WWE Statement & Video Denying CM Punk’s Claims Of Medical Incompetence

94

WWE issued the following today regarding CM Punk …

WWE Addresses CM Punk’s Allegations

In light of CM Punk’s allegations regarding WWE’s medical staff and the subsequent defamation lawsuit filed by Dr. Amann against CM Punk, WWE continues to have the utmost confidence in the ability and expertise of our world-class team of physicians, including Dr. Amann.

CM Punk claimed this past November that during the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on January 26, 2014 he performed with a baseball-sized, purple lump on his back located near the waistband of his tights.

WWE’s investigation has shown the following:

– CM Punk did not discuss this alleged condition with WWE’s team of physicians and trainers, nor did he discuss it with anyone in our Talent Relations department.
– Subsequently, WWE has no medical records documenting this alleged condition.
– The first time WWE was made aware of this alleged condition was when we received a letter from CM Punk’s attorney on August 22, 2014 after WWE terminated his contract.
– There is clear video evidence from the 2014 Royal Rumble, which allows all to decide whether there is any appearance of a baseball-sized growth on CM Punk’s back.

Paige Talks Proposed Ideas For Her WWE Name, Which Celebrities She Wants To Fight, Nikki Bella

10

Ahead of WWE Fastlane this Sunday, Paige spoke to Crave Online to talk about challenging Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship, how the name ‘Paige’ was chosen when she arrived to Florida Championship Wrestling, Total Divas, which celebrities she wants to fight, and more. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Facing Nikki Bella at Fastlane:

“She is an awesome competitor. I’m very excited to face up against her. I know, hopefully, we’re going to get to tear the house down. It is going to be a good competitive match. You’re going to see some surprises and crazy stuff. I can’t really tell you much about it but tune in and watch cause its going to be great, I promise.”

How was the name ‘Paige’ chosen and were there any other candidates?

“Yeah, there actually was. So when you first get to, it was FCW back then, you give them a list of names of what you want and they bring it down to maybe they will choose it or they will give you like three. They only choose one of my names and that was Paige and they gave me two others. It was Echo and [laughing] I said “No”. Then there was Mara, from The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo [Rooney Mara]. So that was the one that stood out to me.”

Which celebrities she wants to fight:

“Oh my gosh! I’d probably end up getting my butt kicked but probably Ronda Rousey because she’s cool…and Kim Kardashian [laughs].”

  • Vince McMahon’s current plan for the WrestleMania 31 main event
  • Shawn Michaels Talks Undertaker And Steve Austin Memories, Reforming Friendships In WWE, New Book

    0

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels joined The Rack Thursday Night for a nearly ten-minute interview, where he discussed his new book, ”Wrestling for My Life: The Legend, the Reality the Faith of a WWE Superstar”, his faith, on what he hopes people will take away from reading his book, on reforming friendships upon returning to the WWE, particularly with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and the Undertaker, why he chose them to write the forewords to his book, if he has a favorite memory concerning those two and so much more. Highlights are as follows, and you can listen to the interview here.

What does he hope people will take away from reading his new book: “I have to tell you, and as I stated in the book, I’m certainly no biblical scholar and I’m no pastor, I’m just a guy telling a story of what the Lord did in his life but I’ve learned the power of testimony over the past several years. So, I’m just hoping that if I’m a guy who stands there amongst many people and raises their hands and goes’ hey, just so you know I went through this, I had this problem. It’s ok to say you struggled here and struggled there’ and that it will help other people do the same and that they’ll feel more comfortable knowing that it’s ok.”

“We live in, and especially in the WWE, in that world that obviously doesn’t dead with a lot of truths and there’s always wearing a mask, so to speak, and just for a bit being honest with oneself and saying you need help and admitting to that; that’s not something that’s looked upon as real strong these days but you’d be surprised at what it does and the strength it takes to do it and the strength the Lord gives you to move forward past it.”

On reforming friendships when he returned to the WWE : “Nothing short of spectacular and that’s again, probably one of the… it’s always a toss-up about the single greatest thing about my salvation, but one of the things my faith has taught me is that everything in our lives is about relationships and to have the opportunity to be given a second change with these guys, especially again with like ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and the Undertaker; guys that we weren’t necessarily friends or hung out or anything like that, but we had a mutual respect for one another but obviously, because of the way I was before, it drove a wedge and didn’t give us an opportunity to have more, more than just that professional respect that you almost have to have and having the opportunity to go back and form real friendships with those guys and more importantly to be at a point in our lives where I can say ‘Hey, I’m going to do this book, and it’s in an area that you guys may or may not be real comfortable with; it’s about my faith. But I want to be transparent, I want to be open and honest and only if you can be open and honest about me, would you write a dedication or would you write something and I want you to be painfully honest. It’s ok.'”

I didn’t want people so to speak; I could have reached out to friends: Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, my wife and kids; people I know who will write things about me, but I wanted these guys who could truly give a real assessment of the before and after and honestly, the things they wrote almost brought a tear to my eye. The fact that they said, ‘No, not only will I do it, but I’d be honored to do it’; that just meant the world to me because we have traveled some tough roads, these gentlemen and myself, to get where we’re at and now to have a friendship and a real relationship that goes so far past and beyond the wrestling business and even sort of the silliness that that business brings to your life. It’s nice to have something real and solid with those guys and again couldn’t be more thrilled with that.”

Does he have any particular fond memories about either Steve Austin or The Undertaker: “The irony, well I guess with both of them, is Steve and I had big differences: he was the guy I was dropping the championship to at WrestleMania 14, which was supposed to be the last match that I ever had because I’d injured my back and had been told my career was over and again, to all these years later, to have him be one of the guys that wrote a foreword in this book and to be a guy who we talk on a fairly regular basis about hunting, our deer programs, our ranches and stuff like that. And then, of course, with the Undertaker, that’s the guy who I ended up ending my career with, my actual wrestling career; I had my last two matches with him and they were just so off-the-charts spectacular and we brought in a lot of our real aspects into it, my faith into it and it was just a wonderful thing. It’s an amazing moment to share those very real times with those guys and that’s been, as I said, nothing short of spectacular and those are just two I guess fairly long winded but quick stories about those two guys in particular.”

  • Paige Talks Charlotte Needing More Time In NXT, If Sasha Banks Is Ready, Being Champion At ‘Mania

    9

This Sunday at WWE Fast Lane, Paige will challenge Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship. To promote the match and event, the 22-year-old spoke to International Business Times about her first year in WWE, her fellow Divas, NXT and more.

Paige offered her thoughts on potentially holding the Divas Championship at her first WrestleMania.

“It’ll be my first WrestleMania. I think it would blow my mind just because this whole year has been absolutely incredible for me, so to make more history and become a three-time WWE Divas champion would be absolutely incredible. And then to take it into WrestleMania would be the cherry on top. So if I could do that, it would be my dream come true, basically,” Paige said.

Paige discussed how her character has evolved since her WWE debut and why she keeps it fresh.

“I like to keep changing and evolving character-wise, so it’s always nice to change it up. When I first came up I was like “Oh man, I can’t be this little, prissy babyface,” so it was kind of weird. And then turning heel was a blessing. I love it. I love being the bad guy. And I still get to act the same, but they cheer me now, so I like that. It kind of reminds me of Stone Cold, in that he could kind of keep his character and he could be either a heel or babyface, and that’s kind of what I’m trying to do right now. So I was a heel, and now I’m basically a heel that gets cheered,” said Paige.

Paige offered her thoughts on NXT Diva Charlotte, who may be promoted to the main WWE roster in the near future. “The Anti-Diva” feels Charlotte should spend more time in developmental, whereas NXT Divas Champion Sasha Banks is ready to go.

“She’s good. She’s still new, so I feel like at one point people want to see her, but they’re kind of rushing it,” said Paige. “I think she could do with some more time, but I still think Sasha Banks is the one that I personally want to come up and who I think is completely ready and the full package, boxed up and ready to go. I feel like she’d be absolutely perfect up here. Charlotte is good, but (needs) some more time.”

  • 5 WWE Feuds For Samoa Joe We Want To See

    65

Earlier this week, Samoa Joe took to Twitter to deliver a shocking announcement. After nearly ten years as one of the pillars of TNA, Joe announced he would be parting ways with the company, effective immediately. Much like an RKO, the announcement came from out of nowhere.

Since the announcement, there has been speculation that Joe could try his luck with the WWE, as former superstars such as Steve Austin and Mick Foley have publicly stated they believe the company should sign him. However, what role would Samoa Joe play if he and the WWE reach an agreement? Here are five worthwhile feuds for Samoa Joe if the two sides can reach an agreement.

    5. Finn Balor

    finn-balor

If Samoa Joe does sign with the WWE, he will have to do his best Drake impersonation and start from the bottom, with NXT being the starting point. Finn Balor is currently the number one contender for the NXT Championship, and should be in NXT for at least the rest of the year. With Joe’s agile, submission-based style, and Balor’s high-flying, strong style, the two could mesh well together and provide a nice juxtaposition of styles in an entertaining program.

Potential Problem For Wyatt/Undertaker Match, WWE Touts App/YouTube Stats

    45

    – Regarding Bray Wyatt vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 31 this year, if WWE wants to have both guys do their normal ring entrances with the lights out, they will have to schedule the match very late into the show because it will still be daylight time for the majority of the event. Sunset in Santa Clara, California in March, the location of this year’s show, is generally around 7:30pm local time, which would be hours into the event.

    – WWE has been touting some of the following stats recently:

300,000 fans use the WWE App during RAW on Monday nights
The WWE App has 6.6 million downloads
The WWE YouTube channel is the number one sports channel online, surpassing the NBA

WWE Doctor Chris Amann Files Lawsuit Against CM Punk & Colt Cabana

    125

WWE’s physician, Dr. Chris Amann, filed a lawsuit today in Cook County, Illinois against Phil Brooks (CM Punk) and Scott Colton (Colt Cabana) for comments the two made about him on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast.

Amann’s claim is that both guys comments about him during their November podcast were untrue, defamatory and painted him in a false light by improperly insinuating that he had a lack of integrity and incompetence as a medical doctor.

The WWE doctor is seeking in excess of one million dollars in compensatory damages, as well as punitive damages.

In particular, Amann claimed that Punk impugned his reputation by saying he had misdiagnosed a fatty deposit on his back and ignored his requests to remove it, a deposit that Punk went on to claim ended up turning into life-threatening MSRA.

Amann claims that he was never asked by Punk to treat any lump or remove anything off of his back, and that Punk never showed him any such lump, nor did he prescribe him any antibiotics for it as Punk claimed.

Additionally, he is claiming that Cabana aided in falsely depicting him as a lazy and/or incompetent doctor. Furthermore, he claimed both men knowingly fabricated the false and disparaging statements about him.
