– A fan on Twitter congratulated Zack Ryder for reaching 1.5 million followers. Continuing to show frustration with his spot in WWE, Ryder responded, “thanks but it doesn’t mean anything.”

– This Sunday at Tables, Ladders and Chairs, John Cena and Randy Orton will battle in a TLC match to crown a new Unified Champion. It’s a feud that’s spanned over a decade, dating back to their time in Ohio Valley Wrestling back in 2002. Looking back at their rivalry when both men were on the WWE roster, their match this Sunday will be the eighth time they’ve wrestled each other on pay-per-view. John Cena currently leads the series, with 4 wins to Orton’s 3. Here’s a look back at their WWE PPV matches:

– Former TNA star Jesse Neal will debut for Long Island’s New York Wrestling Connection next Friday night (12/21) in Deer Park, Long Island.

– Tommy Dreamer and Maria Kanellis’ new movie Army of the Dead is now available for download on iTunes. Here’s the official synopsis:

Report: AJ Styles Officially Leaving TNA Wrestling

As noted earlier, AJ Styles is not only accepting independent wrestling bookings in 2014, but is looking for regular bookings in the first quarter of 2014. According to reports, the reason for this is that AJ Styles will be officially parting ways with TNA next week.

The current contract that Styles is under with TNA right now is set to expire on December 16th. As of December 17th, AJ Styles will officially be a free agent.

    WrestleMania 31 Date Revealed, New Date Will Affect WWE Financial Reporting

    According to an article in The Contra Costa Times out of California, WrestleMania 31 will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2015. If true, ths would end a string of WrestleMania events being held in the month of April.

    The WrestleMania 31 event in Northern California will impact the comparability of WWE’s financial reporting, as WrestleMania business will be reported in the First Quarter 2015 if held in March, instead of the Second Quarter 2015 if held in April.

    – According to one source, there is said to be some concern among WWE Superstars, most of which are mid-card guys, about the possibility of the WWE Network affecting their status and pay from the company. If WWE ends up broadcasting the majority of their pay-per-views on the WWE Network, the talent seems to feel that they could lose out on their pay-per-view bonuses as a result.

    The following are highlights from a recent interview with former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho:

    On working non-stop: “Well, it sure seems that way sometimes, especially with all the projects that I have. The one thing is when I’m home, I try and stay home and not work as much. Being on the road, it’s definitely more work-time in that case, but I really dig being on the road. I dig being busy and I dig creating. In this day and age it’s more about the brand rather than a certain thing. Whether it’s Chris Jericho’s in Fozzy or he’s a wrestler or he’s an author, he has a podcast – everything kind of falls into the Chris Jericho umbrella and that’s where you want to keep it, so I like being busy.”

    On similarities between wrestling and playing shows: “There are a lot of similarities. Both are very high, intense forms of entertainment, both very contingent on the reactions you get from the crowd. And you know, I’ve got to be the party host, work people into a frenzy and make them get into it, whether it’s on stage or whether you’re in the ring. When I started wrestling, I wanted to be the Paul Stanley or the David Lee Roth of wrestling – the ultimate frontman. Then we started Fozzy, I took those qualities I was doing as Y2J that I’d stolen from Paul Stanley and David Lee Roth in the first place, so it’s all very similar. You’re just being a frontman, and the frontman’s job is to get the crowd into the show and dictate the ebb and flow . That’s what I do with Fozzy and the WWE.”

    On what the next 12 months look like: “F*ck, I don’t know about the next 12 months, only the next two. I started a podcast which is a big hit right off the bat and the first episode did really well, so that’s kind of a priority. Doing this Fozzy record is a priority and finishing this third book is a priority, so I’ve got all those things rolling right now.”

    – TNA star Kurt Angle celebrates his 45th birthday today. The Olympic gold medallist was born on December 9, 1968.

    – Speaking of Angle, he was recently interviewed by Business-Standard about TNA’s plans to find talent in India.

    “We want to promote wrestling in India,” Angle said. “I think we are going to become successful and the most effective way to promote in India is to see who the next talent from India is.”

    Multi-Screen Media CEO Man Jit Singh also spoke about TNA in India.

    “There is a huge sports market in India, though it is still dominated by cricket, we see a huge future for wrestling,” said Singh. “We have seen that recently wrestlers and boxers have been winning medals and TNA is a sport of wrestling and entertainment. We will look forward to giving 500 hours of programming each year on Sony Six.”

    As noted in our full WWE live event report from Sunday’s show in Yakima, Washington, WWE Superstar Fandango came to the ring with a heart painted on his belly-button and the words, “I Love Nattie” written on his body. Fandango worked a mixed-tag-team match on the show with Summer Rae, losing to The Great Khali and Natalya.

    There is speculation that WWE may be running an angle between the two stemming from the recent jealousy incident on Total Divas where Natalya’s real-life fiancee’ Tyson Kidd helped train Eva Marie, leading to Natalya trying to get him jealous by working with Fandango.

    – Big E. Langston def. R-Truth and Curtis Axel in a triple-threat match to retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship.

    – Xavier Woods def. Hunico in a regular singles match. This was said to be a pretty good, fast-paced singles match.

    – The Bella Twins def. AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka in Divas tag-team action.

    – Randy Orton def. Daniel Bryan to retain the WWE Championship. Kane came out to distract Bryan, leading to an Orton RKO for the pin. After the match, Mark Henry came out to clean house and help force Orton to get back in the ring, where he took a beating from Bryan.

    – Los Matadores def. 3MB in what was basically a comedy tag-team match. Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre represented 3MB in this one.

    – The Great Khali and Natalya def. Fandango and Summer Rae in a mixed-tag-team match. Fandango came to the ring with a heart around his belly-button and words that read, “I Love Nattie.” Natalya forced Summer Rae to tap to the Sharpshooter, giving her team the submission win.

    – CM Punk def. Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family in the main event. Bray Wyatt was at ringside for the match. Bray got involved in the action multiple times, but in the end, Punk still pulled off the victory.

    – Goldust and Cody Rhodes def. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in an excellent tag-team match to retain the WWE Tag-Team Championships.

    – Dean Ambrose def. Dolph Ziggler and Damien Sandow in a triple-threat match to retain the WWE United States Championship. This was said to be one of the best matches on the show.

    – Ryback def. Santino Marella in what amounted to basically a squash match victory for Ryback.

    – John Cena def. Alberto Del Rio to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. This was said to be the same basic Cena-Del Rio match we’ve seen a thousand times in the past.

    Could the son of the late Chris Benoit be eyeing a future in the world of mixed martial arts?

    An image has surfaced of David Benoit standing inside the cage with reigning IWGP Tag Team Champion and former WWE talent Davey Boy Smith, Jr. (who has been intermittently training for a possible career in mixed martial arts since his time in WWE), presumably during a sparring session.

    The Wrestling Observer reported recently that Benoit was interested in following in his late dad’s footsteps by becoming a professional wrestler. Benoit, as well as the son of Scott Hall, Cody Hall, have been training in hopes of joining the New Japan Pro Wrestling Dojo. It has been said that Benoit’s ultimate goal is to become a WWE Superstar.

    – Former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler grabbed headlines over the weekend after being spotted with tech entrepreneur boyfriend Jared Pobre, five months after splitting with actor George Clooney.

    On Thursday night, she partied with Pobre and a few celebrities at an event in Miami, Florida (coverage available at DailyMail.co.uk). On Saturday, the couple was spotted flirting at LAX (Us Magazine reports here).

    Keibler and Pobre were first spotted out together in Paris, France in September. The following month Pobre threw Keibler a James Bond-themed birthday party following a week-long vacation in Europe.

    – As previously reported, WWE has signed the 18-year-old cousin of WWE Superstar Randy Orton, Jasper Orton. There was actually some confusion as to whether Jasper was Randy’s cousin or brother. This confusion comes from an interview Jasper did where he claimed to be Randy’s brother. Randy has two siblings, one brother named Nathan andone sister named Rebecca. Jasper is in fact Randy’s cousin.

    – WWE.com has confirmed that WrestleMania 31 will take place from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Here’s the official statement:

    “The Show of Shows is coming to the Bay Area. WWE.com can confirm that Levi’s Stadium, the future home of the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, Calif., will host WrestleMania 31 in 2015. This will mark the first time WrestleMania comes to Northern California.     WWE has once again changed the scheduled lineup for their final “Holiday Week” live events at the end of December.

    The new main event for the WWE live event on December 28th in Newark, New Jersey is John Cena and Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio in a tag-team match.

    Originally, WWE was advertising Cena vs. Del Rio as a singles match, and later Cena vs. Randy Orton as a singles match, but the latest advertisements are promoting the aforementioned tag-team match.

    The new tag-team main event is an addition to a card that will also feature Big Show vs. Kane in a steel cage, with WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T serving as the special guest referee.
