Ride alongside Jon Moxley as he retraces some of the highways traveled on his remarkable journey. Revel in the never-before-told stories about his early life in Cincinnati, Ohio; the gritty independent wrestling scene where he cut his teeth; the complicated corporate landscape of the WWE where he bucked against authority; and the rebellious upstart AEW, where he won the championship in 2020 and was finally free to achieve the vision of the wrestler he’d always wanted to be.

Big E Comments On New Day’s Creative Freedom

0

WWE Champion Big E says one of the reasons New Day was able to become as popular as they are is because they were granted more creative freedom than others in the company. During an appearance on Breakfast Club Power 101.5, Big E noted that Vince McMahon has given them the freedom to play around with their promos.

“Vince [McMahon] is still very heavily involved and the one that pulls all the strings. But the reason we were able to take off is because we got some more freedom with our promos,” Big E said on the show. “A lot of people are handed their script and you have to say it, but thankfully we have the freedom to play around with what we say.”

Big E also continued to say there was one creative idea from Vince McMahon he turned down, however. He was not interested in “dancing with his pecs.”

“Years ago, they asked me if I could do a pec dance. A dude called Chris Masters used to pop his pecs rhythmically and I do a lot of silly nonsense, but I was like, ‘I ain’t trying to do all that.’”

Big E is either the 54th or 56th WWE Champion of all-time, depending on whether or not you count Ted Dibiase and Antonio Inoki’s title victories. When he defeated Bobby Lashely for the title on the September 13th, 2021 episode of RAW, it was the 142nd time the belt has changed hands. He has already successfully defended the title against Bobby Lashley twice (once was a no-contest) and Drew McIntyre.

Tony Schiavone Comments On Why Fans Are Booing Cody Rhodes

0

Tony Schiavone recently commented on AEW fans booing Cody Rhodes as of late during an episode of Ask Tony Live! on AdFreeShows.com. Schiavone noted that there are plenty of fans still cheering for Cody.

“Cody has a reality show and he gets his own special entrance. I understand he’s getting booed, but he gets cheered a lot too. I’m in the arena so I can hear it and see it much more than you guys can. I think he got cheered as much as he got booed in Orlando, it’s just the people who boo are much louder and more obnoxious,” Schiavone said.

“I even saw pictures afterwards of guys who were taking selfies with him saying, ‘Hey, I booed him, but he’s a great guy’, which he is. When Justin Roberts started calling him ‘The Prince of Wrestling’, that kind of stuck in people’s craw as well,” Schiavone continued.

Schiavone continued to say that Cody being an EVP in the company plays a role in how fans are responding to him. There may be a perception that he receives preferential treatment because of his role in the AEW office.

“Obviously, he’s an EVP so everybody thinks that he gets preferential treatment, and that’s not true. I mean, he lost the first two matches to Malakai Black, so he hasn’t won all of his matches. He lost to Brodie (Lee). It’s not that he wins every match he’s in. Some people just don’t like him. I happen to like him because I like his family.”

Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black React To Match On Dynamite

Rhodes cut a promo this week on Dynamite making it clear he would never turn heel. He stated that would be the easy thing for him to do. Rhodes also stated that he would not go back on the stipulation that says he can never challenge for the AEW World Championship again.

Following his loss to Cody Rhodes in their 3rd match, Malakai Black took to social media to offer comment. He stated that their rivalry was not about wins and losses and that he’s made it so that the world hates Cody. Black made his comments in an Instagram post not long after the loss.

Bray Wyatt Responds To Reports That He “Deserved To Be Fired”

0

Bray Wyatt is officially a free agent after his 90-day no compete clause with WWE expired on October 29th. He has removed all mention of WWE from his social media tags. His new Twitter handle is now just @Windham6.

The former Bray Wyatt also responded to a report that stated some backstage in WWE felt that Wyatt “deserved to be fired.” The report stated that a WWE source believed Wyatt deserved to be released due to being protective of his character and various other antics while making millions of dollars.

Wyatt first responded with a GIF of the Rock rolling his eyes before commenting, “Now that we have Johnny and Bruce’s opinion, I would like to share mine soon.”

What Is Next For Windham Rotunda?

Recent reports have suggested that while Impact Wrestling has reached out to him, a deal between the two parties was never close to materializing. AEW’s Tony Khan said he hasn’t spoken with Wyatt but would when the time is right. He made those comments before his 90-day no-compete window was up, however.

According to a report from Fightful, Rotunda has also been in Los Angeles recently inquiring about possible opportunities in Hollywood.

Shotzi Blackheart Explains Turning On Sasha Banks

0

Shotzi Blackheart lost a non-title match to Charlotte Flair Friday night on Smackdown. Sasha Banks accidentally caused a distraction that allowed Flair to the hit Natural Selection and pick up the win. Shotzi then attacked Sasha after the match in an apparent heel turn.

Later on Talking Smack, Shotzi explained her actions.

“I am fed up, plain and simple, I am done being the happy and easy-going Shotzi. I have been screwed over on title opportunities over title opportunities. My tag partner [Tegan] left me. I came here wanting to have fun and kick ass. Well, you know what, I haven’t had fun in a really long time.”

Shotzi would later make it clear that she is now targeting Sasha Banks.

“So, there’s just one thing left to do. Sasha [Banks] was my breaking point. And now, she’s my target. I’m not letting anyone walk over me anymore. I am running over everyone in my way!”

This Friday’s match against Flair was Shotzi’s 1st televised singles match on the main roster, although she’s wrestled in 3 dark matches. Her tag-team with Tegan Nox was 3-0 on the main roster before being split up. All 3 of their victories were over Natalya & Tamina.

Tony Nese On What Vince McMahon Said About His He-Man Inspired Gear

0

Tony Nese has been making headlines recently after debuting for All Elite Wrestling and he already has an idea on how he wants to differentiate his AEW character from his WWE persona. The former champion was recently a guest on Insight with Chris Van Vliet. He discussed things such as getting released from WWE and more.

Discussing the ideas he has for his AEW persona, Nese said that he will continue being the premier athlete but he wants to play a character that is a little bit more serious:

“So the Premier Athlete is still going to be who I am and what I represent, but I do want it to be a little bit more of a serious thing rather than ‘Hey look at my abs.’ I love being booed and flexing, but at the same time, I switched up my look to where I am wearing more branded stuff.”

What Vince McMahon Said About Tony Nese’s Gear

Tony Nese
Tony Nese

Tony Nese continued his explanation mentioning how in WWE he was just trying to get a pop with his gear that looked good. He also recalled an interesting remark from Vince McMahon about one of his attires:

“In WWE, I was just trying to pop by getting gear that just looked good. I wore a jacket because they told me I needed something up top. They said ‘You should wear something, but don’t cover up anything.’

For 1 show I wore a He-Man type thing, but nobody thought it looked cool, Vince said ‘Is he wearing a bra out there?’ Straight after I heard that, I threw it into the garbage.”

Tony Nese claimed that he wants to be taken more seriously in AEW. He wants to be his own brand though he will still be kissing his biceps and continue flexing. The former WWE star made his first appearance for AEW during the October 23 episode of Dynamite. He has since made his in-ring debut for the company as well.

Jon Moxley Is Glad WWE Nixed His Feud With Mick Foley

0

It’s common knowledge that WWE wanted to introduce Jon Moxley on the main roster through a feud with Mick Foley before the idea for The Shield was formed. Though the former Dean Ambrose believes that it’s actually better that this dream match never happened because officials would have not given him the freedom that he desired.

The former AEW world champion talked about this during a recent interview with Wrestling Observer. He explained why it’s better that the bout remains a dream match:

“In retrospect it’s actually better that me and Foley just remains a total dream match feud. If 90s Mick Foley and current or maybe a decade ago version of me if you do [a feud] with Mick Foley. For sure that would be the s**t. That’s some dream match s**t.

But at that exact time what would have actually happened was I would have come to the building and I would have had it all in my head exactly what I wanted to say. And I would have the promo in my head and the angle in my head and I would have had it all ready. It would have been very cemented in my head then they would have handed me a script.”

Jon Moxley On How He Would Have Reacted To A Script

Jon Moxley and The Shield
Jon Moxley made his debut as part of the Shield

Mox explained how he wasn’t accustomed to working with a script at the time. So he would have reacted very poorly to it and be deemed hard to work with as a result:

“At this time I didn’t know there were scripts. I would have not reacted very good. I would have reacted poorly to say the least to being handed a script, and then I would have been deemed hard to work with and a bad attitude and yada yada. It would have all just probably gone to s**t.”

Jon Moxley then discussed how the two could have had a great feud if they ever crossed paths outside of WWE. According to him, it would have been a money-making match. Moxley made his main roster debut as part of the Shield during the 2012 Survivor Series PPV. You can check out his comments below:

The IInspiration On Where They Got Their Post-WWE Name From

0

The former IIconics have not only found new names for themselves in Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee but they have changed the name of their team to The IInspiration.

The duo appeared on Impact Press Pass with Gail Kim prior to their Impact debut at Bound For Glory. Among other things, they also revealed where they got the inspiration for their new name.

Jessica McKay gave props to Lee for coming up with the idea, revealing that the former WWE star came up with it after watching the classic movie Bring It On:

“Cassie, I will give props to her. She came up with The IInspiration from ‘Bring It On’ classic film that we’ve all seen a million times. They call themselves inspiration leaders, and she loved that and told me about it. And I was like, that’s amazing.

And it just stuck. It felt like us. And it’s so crazy. Now we say the word inspire 100 times a day, and I never knew that. Of course, now we’re saying the word all the time. So it definitely fits for us.”

The IInspiration was released from WWE back in April this year. They made their Impact Wrestling debut during the Bound For Glory event this past weekend.

The debuting duo challenged Decay for the Impact Knockouts tag team titles on the show and won the championships in their first match for the promotion.

Rey Mysterio was considering hanging his boots for good and ending his three-decade long run as a professional wrestler before his son Dominik made his wrestling debut.

The wrestling legend recently spoke to Scott Fishman of TV Insider where he discussed a number of things. During the interview, he also revealed that he was thinking about hanging up the mask before Dominik stepped in the ring:

Mercedes Martinez continued by mentioning how she talked to Cody and Brandi Rhodes and let them know that WWE was offering her a deal. When she didn’t get a response, she took the offer from the rival promotion:

Big E On If He Has Dealt With Racism In WWE

0

Big E and the New Day have broken the stereotype of African American wrestlers and made a unique place for themselves not only in the WWE roster but the wrestling world in general. The WWE champion had an interview with Breakfast Club Power 101.5 FM. He opened up about what it means for him to be a successful WWE star.

The New Day member was asked if he has dealt with any racism in WWE. Replying to it, E said that he hasn’t before explaining that as far as their representation on TV goes, they are getting where they need to be:

“In WWE, no, honest I haven’t. I will say, as far as our representation on TV we are getting to where we need to be. It’s always a work in progress. Often times if there are issues it would present themselves as, people see you a certain way and they want you to, as a character go, ‘oh you’re a big black man,’ so this is the role you need to play.”

Big E On Breaking The Stereotype For Talent of Color

Big E
Big E

Big E also discussed how it has been important for the New Day to be themselves on TV. He mentioned how in the wrestling industry talent of color are often put in certain boxes such as being a rapper or dancer. With the presentation of their group, they wanted to show people that they can be unique:

“The three of us are nerds, we are comic book nerds so we wanted to really just be ourselves. I think too often, in our industry you would see talent of color put in certain boxes like you have to be a rapper or dancers. We came out with bright colors, just doing silly stuff and the response, at first was rocky, but we just wanted to show people you can be yourselves, you can be unique, and still be proudly black.”

Big E said that their goal with the New Day has been to tear down those boxes so people don’t see black performers in a specific way. He then gave the example of Bianca Belair as someone who is doing the same.

Tony Khan Wanted To Bring In WCW Veteran For An AEW Show

0

Tony Khan apparently wanted to bring in former WCW star and pro wrestling veteran Ultimo Dragon for an appearance during the early days of All Elite Wrestling.

Both the Japanese wrestling star and his WCW manager Sonny Onoo recently made an appearance on Perched on the Top Rope podcast where they talked about a number of different things.

During the talk, Onoo revealed that the AEW president had inquired about booking Ultimo Dragon for an AEW show before the promotion made its debut on TNT:

“Before the AEW started on Turner network, I did get a call directly from Tony Khan. I spoke with him, and he wanted to have Ultimo Dragon on the show or one of their promotional shows in Florida,

I forget the name of it, but it was a computer convention type of show. He wanted to know what the details were, but briefly, what I can tell; it was a one-time shot,”

Explaining why the appearance didn’t happen, Sonny Onoo revealed that the former WCW star was getting ready to go back to Japan for Dragon Gate. The AEW appearance conflicted with his schedule.

AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker claimed to be highly confident and noted that she brought a couple zombies with her and pointed to Rebel & Jamie Hayter dressed up. Baker vowed to sent “Abby” back down to hell where she belongs. Mark Henry then pointed out that Abadon had already left to end the promo.

The Usos interrupted and marched to the ring. They claimed that a lot has changed since New Day went to RAW. The Usos said that SmackDown is their show and The Bloodline’s show. Goldberg Thinks He Shut Up The Critics With His Match At WWE Crown Jewel

0

Goldberg is satisfied with his match against Bobby Lashley at WWE Crown Jewel.

The WWE Hall of Famer talked about the match on the latest episode of the CarCast podcast. He thinks the performance silenced the critics of his work in the ring.

“I don’t have the best track record in Saudi Arabia. I’ve knocked myself out in a match, I’ve dropped The Undertaker on his head, and this and that. I needed to redeem myself. I’m not happy with my performance, but I’m satisfied with it to a point where I think it’s shut all these f*ckers up finally.”

The match was a no holds barred, falls count anywhere bout that he ended when he speared Lashley off the stage and onto a crash pad on the floor.

On the same podcast, Goldberg noted that his injured knee is hurting him, but is his life now after a career of playing football and wrestling.

Also on the CarCast, Goldberg addressed how his injured knee is feeling and spoke about what his relationship with Lashley is like behind the scenes. He put over Lashley for being a great individual and someone he’s wanted to wrestle for years so he felt honored that Lashley worked with him.

AJ Styles Believes Omos Is A Future WWE World Champion

0

AJ Styles is of the belief that Omos can lay claim to a world title in WWE someday.

Styles and Omos are the former Raw Tag Team Champions. They ended up losing the titles at WWE SummerSlam against RKBro (Randy Orton & Riddle). Styles and Omos were unsuccessful in their bids to reclaim the gold, at least so far.

AJ Styles Has Confidence In Omos As A Singles Star

Styles spoke to the folks at Ring Rules and he expressed his belief that Omos will eventually become a WWE world champion.

“Omos and myself can focus on a singles run if we decide. Like you said before He’ll be a champion — WWE Champion/Universal Champion soon. I have no doubt about it.”

AJ Styles remains on the Monday Night Raw brand following the draft but he said it doesn’t matter which show he’s on.

“I prefer whatever I’m on, it doesn’t matter if it’s Raw or SmackDown. I’m going to do what I gotta do. You know, both, you know, SmackDown and Raw, it doesn’t matter. I enjoy both. I enjoy being a part of WWE.”

It was reported that WWE considered splitting up the team of Styles and Omos by having them drafted to separate brands. Obviously, that plan didn’t materialize.

Daniel Garcia Speaks On Who Helped Him Get Hired By AEW

0

Daniel Garcia has revealed who helped him get his foot in the door at AEW.

Garcia has quickly been mixing it up with some top-tier talent in AEW. He’s collided with the likes of CM Punk, Jon Moxley, and Darby Allin. It was recently announced that Garcia has signed a contract with the promotion.

The Blade Assisted Daniel Garcia In Getting Signed By AEW

The Blade, who wrestles in a tag team with The Butcher, is credited with getting Daniel Garcia on board. Here’s what Garcia had to say during his appearance on the AEW Unrestricted Podcast.

“People just end up reaching out to you. I think you develop a lot of independent wrestling clout or notoriety, and then people end up hitting you up. And I think The Blade, Pepper Parks, one of my trainers, I think he was able to put in a good word for me a little bit. I’m sure that didn’t harm the cause at all, but I think that’s how it came together. They were just looking for, kind of, high-profile indie wrestlers that they could put on their show and give an opportunity to and that, plus a recommendation, I think went a long way. I had about eight months off from wrestling, and my first match back was at AEW.”

Garcia leads the way along with the team of 2point0. At the age of 23 and with some technical abilities that very few possess, Garcia seems destined for big things in AEW. Time will tell how he develops and if the audience will take a liking to him in the long haul.

“I am on Monday Night Raw, so right now, I’d like to take care of Big E because he’s the champion. I’m title seeking, I’ve always been a title seeker. Wherever Gable is, that show ends up being perfect.”

Riddle: Roman Reigns Wasn’t Happy With ‘Needle-Mover’ Remark

0

Matt Riddle admits that Roman Reigns was none too pleased with him over a recent remark.

Riddle has been known to ruffle some feathers. We’ve heard reports of stars such as Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, and even Randy Orton at one time take issue with the former UFC fighter. The good news for Riddle is that it appears both Goldberg and Orton are on good terms with him these days. Reigns and Lesnar may be a different story.

Needle Mover

Ahead of this year’s WWE Summerslam event, Reigns told Ariel Helwani for BT Sport that he didn’t feel CM Punk was as good or as over as The Rock or John Cena.

Riddle responded to this during an interview with Bleacher Report, claiming that Reigns himself isn’t a needle-mover.

“When he’s saying ‘Acknowledge me’ or ‘I move the needle,’ no, you don’t” You’re related to The Rock. Shut up. Like, I’m not impressed, I can beat you up in a real fight. So, shut your mouth. You’re not moving needles. I’m the real stallion, RK-Bro is moving the merch, we’re moving the needle, and that’s it.”

Riddle continued, “I don’t want to say too much, I’m not trying to get in trouble. Hey, hats off to him. He’s amazing at what he does. I do like what he does, but at the same time, it’s like, get off your high horse. You’re in that spot for a reason. You’re not a bro. You’re second generation. I’m first generation.”

Roman Reigns’ Reaction

Riddle appeared on the Cheap Heat podcast with Peter Rosenberg and Stat Guy Greg this week and revealed Reigns didn’t take too kindly to that comment.

“Well ya know, I’ll do this. I’m trying not to talk too much trash anymore. I don’t wanna upset the higherups. I said something about, I’m not gonna mention an exact name, but he’s a ‘Chief of Tribes.’ I said something about him recently and he wasn’t too happy. Like I said, I’m not saying specific names. That could be anybody, that could be anybody. But he wasn’t happy. I talked some trash about me moving the needle and selling merch, and he didn’t like what I said. I thought it was hilarious but not everybody thinks like me.”

Riddle vs. Brock Lesnar? There’s Still Work To Do

Riddle went on to say that while he’d like to share the ring with Lesnar, he made a promise to Brock that he wouldn’t call him out in the media.

“I still want the match with Brock but I promised him I wouldn’t call him out anymore. He asked me not to a couple of years ago at a Royal Rumble, so I respect your wishes Mr. Beast. I won’t call you out.”

Paul Wight Has Massive Praise For CM Punk’s Promo Ability

0

Paul Wight thinks CM Punk is one of the best storytellers in wrestling.

Punk has made a positive impact on the AEW locker room since making his return to the wrestling industry. We’ve seen AEW stars such as Ricky Starks praise Punk for being willing to give advice to anyone. In terms of his performance both in the ring and on the mic, Paul Wight believes CM Punk hasn’t missed a beat.

Wight made an appearance on the Brandon Kravitz podcast and he gave his take on what makes Punk believable in the ring and on the mic.

“I love CM Punk’s matches because he starts slower and builds toward the end. By the end, you’re going nuts because he pulls you right in with his work and his ability to tell that story in the ring, and he’s great on the microphone. His timing on the promo when he came back in Chicago– if you are a younger talent and are looking at cadence, and meaning, and telling a story, and how to cut a promo, that promo is one of the best promos that I have ever heard for storytelling.”

Punk is a Great Storyteller

Paul Wight has cut his share of great promos over the years, However, Punk is on a different level. Wight feels that Punk masterfully explained why he left wrestling, why he returned and left fans wanting more. Punk’s storytelling abilities in and out of the ring make him a huge asset to AEW.

“CM Punk told a story, he didn’t knock anybody or bury anything. He spoke from his heart about how things affected him and he took you on that journey and made you understand why he was gone so long, but then he made you understand what brought him back. That’s what you want to do in a promo, you want to have a beginning, middle, and end, and tell a story, and Punk is a great storyteller on the microphone and in the ring. To have him back, it was a great shot in the arm.”

Punk is fresh off a victory over Bobby Fish on the Halloween episode of Dynamite. AEW Full Gear is coming up on Nov. 13 and Punk doesn’t have a match on the PPV currently. A leaked bout sheet featured Punk vs. MJF’s bodyguard Wardlow but Tony Khan has claimed that list was simply filled with ideas and nothing was finalized.
