Watch FTR Win The AAA World Tag Team Titles From Lucha Brothers

0

FTR have become the new AAA world tag team champions after defeating the Lucha Brothers for the titles during this week’s episode of Dynamite.

Andrade had promised to bring in a team to face the duo of Rey Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo for the championship match this week. The masked team was introduced as Las Super Ranas on the show.

When the challengers went after Fenix’s mask during the early stage of the match, the high-flying star countered. The Lucha Bros ended up removing the mask of Las Super Ranas, only for them to be revealed at FTR.

The ending of the bout saw Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler trying to use one of the title belts to their advantage. Fenix avoided a hit from the belt at first.

Though Dax managed to hit Fenix with the belt the second time while Tully Blanchard kept the referee distracted. Harwood then pinned Rey to win the AAA tag team championships for FTR.

Tony Schiavone caught up with the new champions after the bout asking how it felt ‘stealing’ the titles. However, MJF interrupted to celebrate with the new champions.

MJF then asked Andrade for his money. Upon being asked if he wanted cash or check, MJF said that he wanted both. The Pinnacle leader then not only got both but he also told Andrade that he had FTR only for one night.

AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament Brackets Revealed

0

AEW has revealed the brackets for this year’s edition World Title Eliminator Tournament. Looking at the landscape, we could very well be headed to a Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley showdown to crown the next #1 contender.

The main event of Saturday’s AEW Dynamite saw Danielson defeat Bobby Fish in singles action via submission. After the match, AEW ended the show by giving fans of glimpse of what’s in store.

First Round matches include:

  • 10 vs. Jon Moxley
  • Orange Cassidy vs. Powerhouse Hobbs
  • Dustin Rhodes vs. Bryan Danielson
  • Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston

This tournament will begin next week on Rampage where Orange Cassidy will face Will Hobbs. The following Dynamite episode will feature Bryan Danielson vs. Dustin Rhodes and Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston matches.

There is no word so far on when the match between number 10 of the Dark Order and the former AEW champion Jon Moxley will be taking place.

What’s interesting to note here is that the leaked AEW Full Gear card had Bryan Danielson facing Jon Moxley in a singles match. It seemed out of place at the time because these two haven’t been feuding.

Though now that the brackets have been revealed and both the stars are confirmed to be on the opposing sides, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they end up facing each other in the finals of the tournament at the upcoming show.

Which of these stars do you think should win the title tournament and get a shot at the world heavyweight championship? Let us know in the comment section.

CM Punk Making His Way Back To The AEW Commentary Booth

0

CM Punk will be commentating once again for the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.

There was no Dynamite episode this past Wednesday night due to a scheduling conflict with the NHL. Instead, it’ll air live on Saturday night (Oct. 16) at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.

Punk is fresh off a victory over Matt Sydal on the Oct. 15 episode of Rampage. One night later, he will be making his way back to the commentary booth. AEW made the announcement on its Twitter account.

Jim Ross Has Massive Praise For CM Punk As A Commentator

During an edition of his Grilling JR podcast last month, AEW play-by-play commentator Jim Ross had the following to say about Punk’s abilities in the booth (h/t Cultaholic).

“He was great. I’m not saying that to kiss his a** because that’s what some feel obligated to do, and he didn’t like it. He didn’t like having his a*ss kissed.

“I was very, very honest with Phil, and we built a great relationship because of it. He and I spent a lot of time together on those TV days.  He is a natural. He’s as good as anybody, any ex-wrestler, that stepped into that spot and did it for the first time. Just astonishing.”

We won’t have to wait long to find out if Punk’s time doing commentary will be uninterrupted or if someone will get testy with the self-proclaimed “Best in The World.” Perhaps Punk may feel inclined to get in the action himself at some point. Fans will have to tune into Dynamite to see what transpires.

Roman Reigns Reveals One Thing He Misses About The ThunderDome

0

Roman Reigns is thrilled to be back in front of live crowds but there’s one thing he was quite happy about during the ThunderDome era.

Reigns began his significant character shift while WWE was using the ThunderDome. After being away due to concerns of how COVID-19 could put him at a higher risk due to his history with leukemia, Reigns returned with a new attitude. Reigns aligned himself with Paul Heyman and became “The Tribal Chief” of WWE.

Despite being the top heel in WWE, Roman Reigns has enjoyed big pops ever since live crowds became the norm once again. That’s because many agree that he’s the best thing going in WWE right now.

Roman Reigns Details One Positive Of ThunderDome Era

During an interview with Bleacher Report, Reigns admitted that avoiding heavy travel and being with his family more often were the best parts of the ThunderDome era.

“I don’t miss travel, man. I don’t miss being on planes. I don’t miss being in the air. The ThunderDome was nice because it was in Orlando for a bit and Tampa, so I would literally get picked up on the bus, head up there, three-and-a-half-hour drive to both, do my stuff and get back on the bus and get back home that night. That process created a silver lining and also being home with my family and my children and my wife. There’s no replacing that. I do not miss travel.”

Reigns went on to say that he doesn’t mind the trips to Saudi Arabia since it’s a one-off and he travels on a private jet. “The Head of the Table” also said that WWE takes “extreme precautions” to ensure that he is safe while traveling.

Reigns is set for a massive WWE Universal Title defense on Oct. 21. He will be colliding with Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel. The main question going into the match is, who will Paul Heyman ultimately align with? Heyman will have to decide if he is the Special Counsel for Roman Reigns or The Advocate for Brock Lesnar.

Juice Robinson Explains Why One Of His NXT Promos Was Banned

0

Juice Robinson has reflected on the time he had one of his promos on NXT banned.

Juice had been signed with WWE under the NXT brand as CJ Parker. He was with the company from 2011 through 2015. It was Juice who requested and was granted his release from the company.

Since that time, Juice Robinson has made a name for himself in New Japan Pro Wrestling. He is far more popular now than he was under the NXT brand. Juice is a two-time IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion and a former IWGP Tag Team Champion with David Finlay.

During an interview with Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Juice explained how one of his NXT promos ended up getting banned.

“So me and another guy, I can’t remember who, came up with it [a new character idea], but next thing I know we’re outside of Sea World doing the tear going down my eye and sad music, the orcas are swimming and I called it Slave World. You can’t say that, of course. It was meant to be an idea. What could have been. Anyways, I showed it to Dusty and he loved it. Absolutely loved it. However, somebody else said, ‘Don’t show that again.’ Well, I ended up showing it again. Apparently, Anheuser-Busch sponsors Sea World. Anheuser-Busch also is with WWE or something, I don’t know. Bureaucratic bull crap. It never saw the light of day, but it was very, very entertaining. Very tongue-in-cheek, very pro wrestling.”

As of late, Juice has taken full advantage of the “Forbidden Door” being open. He’s been working with Impact Wrestling alongside Finlay. The two are former Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions.

AEW Officially Signs Lee Moriarty and Amanda Huber

0

AEW has officially given a full-time contract to Lee Moriarty. This follows his match against Bobby Fish last night on the AEW Rampage Buy-In show. He is winless so far in 5 matches in the promotion.

The Pittsburgh native has lost singles matches to Dante Martin, Joey Janela, Daniel Garcia and Bobby Fish. He also teamed with LSG and lost to FTR. He was given a contract offer last month after his match against Garcia, and it appears he has come to terms with the promotion now.

AEW has also signed Amanda Huber as a member of the promotion’s Community Outreach Team. Huber also appeared on AEW programming in Rochester as part of the angle with the Dark Order settling their differences. Huber’s son, Brodie Lee Jr. (aka -1) will join the AEW roster when he is old enough to do so. Amanda has said in the past that -1 is only able to appear on AEW programming when he is keeping his grades above a certain level.

It has been almost 10 months since the wrestling world lost Jon Huber, aka Brodie Lee. He tragically passed away on December 26th, 2020. Amanda and -1 combined to bring the Dark Order back together on the show from Rochester, which was Brodie Sr.’s hometown.

Shayna and Sonya shook hands before the match and made their way to the ring. Naomi beat Baszler down and chased Sonya around the ring. Deville caught Naomi with a knee to the face and then Shayna held her up. Deville got in some punches as Shayna choked Naomi out. Shayna stood on Naomi for the pinfall victory.

Seth Rollins Responded To Edge

Seth Rollins came to the ring to respond to Edge. Rollins stood in silence as the crowd booed and chanted that he sucks. Rollins did the fake cackle into the microphone and pointed out how Edge admitted that he was wrong and that he is not Edge Lite. Seth claimed that he is better than Edge in every single way and is in his head. The crowd chanted “Harley Quinn” to mock Rollins’ suit as Seth shouted that he is not afraid to face Edge inside Hell in a Cell. Rollins brought up his past experiences inside Hell in a Cell and vowed to win the match.

Zelina Vega Advanced To The Finals Of The Queen’s Crown Tournament

Carmella faced Zelina Vega in the semifinals of the Queen’s Crown tournament. The winner will face Doudrop or Shayna Baszler in the finals at Crown Jewel. Vega tackled Carmella to the mat and unloaded some strikes. Carmella exited the ring and called for a timeout. Liv Morgan showed up and distracted Carmella and Vega capitalized with a roll-up for the win. Vega advanced to the finals of the Queen’s Crown tournament.

The Usos Retained The SmackDown Tag Titles

The Usos defended the SmackDown Tag Team Championships against Street Profits tonight in a Street Fight. Jey connected with a Neckbreaker on Montez Ford to start off the action. Jey went for the cover but Ford kicked out at two. The Usos beat Angelo Dawkins down outside the ring but Montez flipped onto them. Street Profits grabbed a table from under the ring but turned around into a couple Suicide Dives from The Usos as SmackDown went to a break.

When SmackDown returned, The Usos had Angelo Dawkins isolated in the ring. Jimmy and Jey bashed Angelo with some kendo sticks shots and posed for the crowd. Montez Ford climbed to the top turnbuckle and connected with a big Crossbody. Ford grabbed a steel chair and threw it to Uso. Ford booted it into his face for a two count.

Jey connected with a pop-up Samoan Drop but Montez battled back with a Superkick. Dawkins got back into the ring and Street Profits hit a slam for a two count. Angelo grabbed a kendo stick and bashed Jey across the back a few times. Ford bashed Jey with a chair and climbed to the top turnbuckle.

Jimmy broke it up and The Usos leveled Street Profits with some Superkicks. Street Profits battled back and Ford hit a Frog Splash. Jey dragged Montez out of the ring and slammed him through a table. The Usos hit Angelo Dawkins with a couple Superkicks and then two Splashes for the pinfall victory. The Usos are still the SmackDown Tag Team Champions.

Sasha Banks def. Becky Lynch

SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch faced Sasha Banks tonight. Becky Lynch will defend the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat match at Crown Jewel next Thursday. Bianca Belair joined commentary for the match.

Becky Lynch connected with a shoulder tackle and flexed to begin the action. Becky missed with a Senton but rolled up Banks for a two count. Sasha took Becky down and rolled her up for a near fall. Becky battled back and went for the Dis-Arm-Her but Banks blocked it.

Sasha went for the Bank Statement but couldn’t get it locked in and sent Lynch to the corner of the ring. Banks connected with a stomp to the midsection and went for the cover but Becky kicked out at two. Lynch sent Sasha to the outside and stomped on her as she got back into the ring.

Lynch connected with a Bulldog and went for the cover but Sasha kicked out at two. Sasha rolled to the apron and Becky followed her there. Lynch bounced Banks’ face off the top turnbuckle a couple times but Sasha battled back and sent the champion into the ring post. Banks followed it up with Double Knees against the post and then Double Knees in the corner of the ring.

Banks hit Double Knees off the top rope but Lynch battled back again. The action spilled to the outside and Banks applied the Bank Statement. Sasha hit a Frog Splash in the ring and went for the cover but Lynch kicked out at two. Banks rolled her up for another near fall and got frustrated after Becky kicked out.

Becky took control but couldn’t put Banks away. Lynch went for a Leg Drop off the middle turnbuckle but Banks got out of the way. Becky followed her out of the ring and went for a punch but Banks ducked and Lynch struck Belair instead. Banks hit Double Knees against the barricade and brought Becky back into the ring. Sasha went for a Frog Splash but Becky got her knees up. Lynch went for the Manhandle Slam but Banks countered into a roll-up. Sasha hit the Backstabber and applied the Bank Statement but Lynch got to the ropes to break it up. Sasha then hit another Backstabber for the pinfall victory. Becky couldn’t believe that she lost and they set up for the Contract Signing as she sat in disbelief on the apron.

Lesnar Played Mind Games With Reigns

Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar had the Contract Signing for the title match at Crown Jewel. Paul Heyman accompanied Reigns to the ring. Reigns asked Heyman to review the contract before he signed it. Paul looked it over and handed Roman a pen. Heyman stated that the contract is everything he requested and suggested that he sign it.

Reigns signed the contract and then Pearce handed it to Brock Lesnar. Brock didn’t look at the contract and signed it. Roman called Brock a dumbass for signing the contract without looking. Brock said he already read the contract this morning with his advocate Paul Heyman. Lesnar laughed and left the ring to end the show.

Report Dismisses Mark Henry’s Claim Of Pac Suffering A Concussion

0

AEW star Pac reportedly didn’t suffer a concussion as recently as Mark Henry claimed.

Pac competed in the Casino Ladder Match on the second-year anniversary episode of Dynamite. He shared the ring with Jon Moxley, Andrade El Idolo, Lance Archer, Orange Cassidy, Matt Hardy, and Hangman Page, who was the Joker entrant.

At one point in the match, Pac took a wild bump through a table. Page planted Pac with DeadEye, which was a dangerous-looking spot. Hangman Page ended up winning the match.

During an episode of Busted Open Radio, Mark Henry claimed that Pac suffered a concussion just a month and a half before taking the DeadEye spot.

“I would not have had a guy that was injured recently take a big bump off the top of the ladder to the floor on his back,” Henry said about PAC’s big bump in the Casino Ladder match. “I watched PAC, I watched his head snap back and hit the mat and he just had a concussion like a month and a half ago.”

Report Disputes Claim Made By Mark Henry

In an update, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Pac actually did not suffer a concussion as recently as Henry claimed. The report notes that while Pac has been concussed in the past, it was not a month and a half before the Casino Ladder Match.

Speculation ran rampant about Pac’s absence from the All Out PPV. Pac was supposed to face Andrade El Idolo on the show but visa issues were to blame for the bout being postponed. Some believed that Henry’s concussion story may have been the real answer but if Meltzer’s report is to be believed, that theory can be put to bed.

Tony Khan Addresses The Photo That May Have Leaked AEW Full Gear Card

0

A photo of Tony Khan holding a notebook while at the Jacksonville Jaguars game was published online earlier this week with fans noticing that he had some interesting writing on it.

Fans zoomed in on it and noticed that it had the possible card for this year’s Full Gear pay-per-view event.

The AEW President talked about this during an appearance on Friday’s episode of Busted Open Radio. He started off by noting that he was doodling in the notebook and was just walking around while not thinking that someone would take photos of him and captured his notes.

“I’m glad it wasn’t anything more personal. It’s funny that people run with assumptions on the internet these days. I’ve seen all these people jumping to conclusions that, ‘oh, that must be the Full Gear card.’”

He continued by noting that it is true that he announced the main event of Full Gear, which is Kenny Omega defending the AEW World Heavyweight Title against Hangman Adam Page.

“I just have notes and have been messing around with different ideas and playing around with stuff. You can even see, it’s scratching around and written in pencil and been erased. I think it’s pretty fortunate because it’s gotten a ton of buzz and has gotten people wondering and people should be wondering. It creates more speculation and now I’ll leave you with more questions than answers.”

The Full Gear pay-per-view event will take place on November 13, 2021 from Minneapolis, MN at the Target Center.

Ric Flair Appearing At Donald Trump Political Fundraiser

0

Ric Flair appears to be “stylin’ and profilin'” his way to a Donald Trump political fundraiser.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution political reporter Greg Bluestein has made mention on Twitter that former POTUS Trump will be running a fundraiser for former NFL star Herschel Walker. Walker will be running for the U.S. Senate in Georgia.

Among the attendees will be former MLB starting pitcher Tom Glavine, former NFL Quarterback Doug Flutie, and “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. The political fundraiser will be taking place in Florida.

Flair has found himself in hot water as of late. During an episode of Dark Side of the Ring, Heidi Doyle, a former flight attendant who served on the infamous “Plane Ride From Hell,” made some serious accusations towards Flair. She claims Ric Flair exposed himself and forced her to touch his privates.

Flair has denied those accusations. Despite the denial, Flair was removed from a CarShield advertising campaign at least temporarily.

WWE also removed any mention of Ric Flair and has yanked him from being featured in their opening video package. While WWE and Flair parted ways back in August, the removal wasn’t made until the accusations resurfaced. All of Flair’s merchandise has also been pulled from WWE Shop.

Don Callis Responds To Roman Reigns Dissing CM Punk

0

Don Callis has offered a response to Roman Reigns’ rant on CM Punk.

Reigns turned quite a few heads with his recent comments about Punk. Punk is a former WWE star who had a nasty split from the company after creative differences and issues with the lack of time off. Punk made his return to the wrestling industry back in August, aligning with AEW.

Don Callis Takes A Shot At Roman Reigns Over Comments About CM Punk

For Punk, his return has been all about positivity but Roman Reigns hasn’t been impressed by what he’s seen. Reigns told Complex that he feels Punk has “lost a step or two.” He also brought up Punk’s shortcomings in the UFC and even went as far as to say he’d “big brother” the entire AEW roster.

Callis, who manages Kenny Omega on AEW TV, took to his Twitter account to take a dig at Reigns.

“What does ‘a built in Ground’ mean? Can Paul help with these promos please?”

Reigns’ comments come at an interesting time. On Oct. 15, AEW and WWE will be going head-to-head for a half-hour. SmackDown will be airing on FOX Sports 1 this night and will extend a half-hour. This means the first half-hour of Rampage will be competing with it.

Both companies have made efforts to entice viewers. AEW will be running the opener of Rampage commercial-free and will have a free one-hour Buy-In show (see the live steam here).

SmackDown will feature Brock Lesnar and a match between Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks. The last half-hour of SmackDown will run commercial-free.

The time has arrived for the AEW Rampage Buy-In show.

That’s because Rampage will be going head-to-head with WWE SmackDown for the first half-hour. SmackDown airs on FOX Sports 1 tonight and will run an extra half-hour. To hype up Rampage, AEW is giving fans a free one-hour Buy-In show.

Headlining tonight’s preshow will be a matchup that has left wrestling fans salivating. Two living legends will share the ring as Bryan Danielson will go one-on-one with Minoru Suzuki. Fans will also get to witness Bobby Fish vs. Lee Moriarty and Tay Conti vs. Santana Garrett.

Minoru Suzuki Set To Make Impact Wrestling Debut

0

Japanese wrestling legend Minoru Suzuki continues to make the most of his trip to the United States.

Suzuki didn’t participate in this year’s G1 Climax tournament for New Japan Pro Wrestling. As a result, he’s been taking dates in America for the likes of AEW and GCW. Now, the leader of Suzuki-gun will be making his way to Impact Wrestling.

Impact Wrestling took to its Twitter account to announce that Suzuki is making his way to the promotion for upcoming TV tapings.

“BREAKING: See Minoru Suzuki LIVE at our television tapings at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas on October 24th and 25th!”

Suzuki’s AEW endeavor hasn’t ended either. On Oct. 15, he will be taking on Bryan Danielson during the AEW Rampage Buy In show. You can catch the live stream of the Buy In show on the SEScoops homepage at 9 p.m. ET.

As for Impact Wrestling, the company has been enjoying great success with cross-promotion. Impact has finally made amends with NJPW and has been bringing in the likes of Juice Robinson, David Finlay, El Phantasmo, Jay White, and others.

It’ll be interesting to see what Minoru Suzuki has in store for Impact Wrestling and who he will target upon his arrival.

The Young Bucks Comment On Having Adam Cole In The AEW Locker Room

0

Adam Cole debuted for AEW at All Out in Chicago last month. He quickly joined up with the Elite, whom he had been aligned with before signing with WWE in 2017 as members of Bullet Club. Matt and Nick Jackson were recently interviewed by Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated and commented on what it’s like having Cole in the AEW locker room.

“I can’t fully express the happiness I currently have, sharing a ring with Adam Cole again,” Matt Jackson said. “His positivity and energy had really helped the morale in our locker room. I haven’t stopped smiling since he showed up. When he arrived, it felt like we finally found that missing piece of the puzzle. The whole gang is finally back together. We hadn’t worked together in five years, but the chemistry was still there. The dude is a star and getting some of the biggest reactions I’ve ever heard.”

Nick Jackson also commented on Adam Cole’s arrival in AEW. He commented on both WWE letting Cole leave and him being resurrected from the dead on BTE.

“I’m still trying to figure that out,” Nick said of WWE letting Cole walk away. “But even crazier than resurrecting the dead is letting a superstar walk away from your company to join the competition.”

Cole has wrestled 4 times in AEW thus far. He’s 2-0 in singles matches having defeated Frankie Kazarian and Jungle Boy. He’s 2-0 in tag-team matches as well. HE teamed with the Young Bucks and defeated Christian Cage & The Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) on Rampage Grand Slam. He later teamed with the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega and defeated Bryan Danielson, Christian Cage & The Jurassic Express(Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus) in Philadelphia on October 6th.

Adam Cole Details Origin Of His Famous Catchphrase

0

There is no denying that Adam Cole is one of the hottest wrestling sensations right now. One of the most unique things about his persona is his catchphrase.

The former NXT champion recently had an interview with Chris Van Vliet. He discussed things such as how his Twitch streams have become a vital part of his life, potentially doing an angle with Britt Baker in AEW, and more.

On the topic of his famous catchphrase, Cole said that he has been doing it since 2009. Revealing the origin of it, Adam recalled seeing Joey Matthews during an indie event of Maryland Championship Wrestling:

“Joey Matthews [Joey Mercury in WWE] was on the show, and he was in the finals of the Shane Shamrock Memorial Cup. He was the heel, and he was just walking around going “Joey Matthews!” and putting his fists up in the air, and he said it so many times.

I remember sitting there and thinking that is so smart. If you are not really a hardcore wrestling fan, if you remember one name from that show, it’s going to be Joey Matthews.”

Adam Cole Took Inspiration From Chris Jericho

Adam Cole then explained how he came up with the idea to incorporate this taunt into his own character, with some inspiration from Chris Jericho:

“So I thought how can I incorporate that into my own thing? I’m a huge Chris Jericho fan, and when he would stand on top of someone, flex and go “come on baby!” I was like oh, I will do “Adam Cole Bay Bay.””

Cole also talked about leaving WWE for AEW and how things came together very fast. He said that he wants to make it clear that he had a great 4 year run in WWE.

LISTEN: Sneak Peek At Owen Hart’s AEW Theme Song

0

AEW’s music producer has treated fans to a preview of the theme song for Owen Hart.

Last month, AEW announced a partnership with The Owen Hart Foundation. AEW will be honoring the legacy of Hart with the Owen Hart Cup. The winner of this tournament will be presented with a trophy dubbed, “The Owen.”

In honor of the legend who tragically passed away in 1999, AEW’s music producer Mikey Rukus has posted a sneak peek at Owen Hart’s theme song in progress.

“Take a quick trip back to 1992 with a bit of an edge to it. The honor is and always will be mine.”

In addition to the tournament, AEW will also feature Hart’s likeness in an upcoming console video game and action figures.

The Owen Hart Foundation issued the following statement on its partnership with AEW.

“The OHF is extremely pleased to partner with AEW in this wonderful joint venture to honor Owen’s substantial international wrestling career and the lasting influence he and his craft has had in the sport. AEW’s Owen Hart Cup Tournament serves as a tremendous tribute to Owen and provides an incredible way for professional wrestling enthusiasts to celebrate his work in a most fitting way. We trust that Tony Khan and his amazing AEW team will do a brilliant job with this highly anticipated project. This OHF/AEW partnership is my special gift to all of Owen’s magnificent loyal fans who forever remember him and his inspiring repertoire of talents,” said Dr. Martha Hart.

Roman Reigns Goes Off On CM Punk: ‘A Step Or Two Has Been Lost’

0

Roman Reigns hasn’t been impressed by the return of CM Punk.

Punk made his AEW debut on the Aug. 20 episode of Rampage. He received a thunderous ovation inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. He’s had three matches since his return.

Roman Reigns Not Sold On CM Punk’s Impact

During an interview with Complex, Reigns dismissed the significance of having a match with Punk in the future. While the two are obviously signed with different companies, Reigns feels Punk just isn’t as good as he used to be.

“That’s not going to elevate me at all. He’s older now. I haven’t really seen a full match. I’ve seen a clip or two. And to me, a step or two has been lost. Then also he got his ass whooped in the UFC. I don’t think anybody really believes someone 200 pounds soaking wet with no explosive bone in their body could ever really do anything to me.

“I’m 6’3, 265 pounds, a legitimate athlete who can throw some weight around and has been on the gridiron at the highest level. D1. All ACC. I probably would’ve maintained in the NFL if my health issues didn’t happen when I was 22 years old. So, I mean, when it comes down to it, I’ll throw him and pretty much the rest of that roster out the club no problem. They’re just little brothers, you know?”

This isn’t the first time Roman Reigns has been asked about CM Punk. During an interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport, Reigns said Punk was never a true draw for WWE in the way that The Rock and John Cena were.

On Oct. 15, WWE and AEW will be going head-to-head for a half-hour. The last half-hour of SmackDown will be commercial-free and it’ll go up against the first half-hour of Rampage.

JBL Looks Back On His Reaction To APA Splitting Up

0

JBL has reflected on the time he was told the APA would be splitting up.

Back in 2004, SmackDown GM Paul Heyman told the APA that Ron Simmons would be fired if they failed to capture the Tag Team Titles. APA lost the match and Heyman ended up telling JBL that he has a lot to think about with his future. When Ron urged JBL to exit the building with him, Bradshaw said he couldn’t leave just because Ron said something “stupid.”

JBL Recalls Reaction To APA Splitting Up

During a Q&A session on his YouTube channel, JBL said that he and Ron wish they had more time but didn’t fight the decision.

“Yeah, of course. It wasn’t up to us. The office wanted JBL, at that time, just Bradshaw to go on his own, and so Ron and I were just footsoldiers. We did what we were asked. We didn’t really protest stuff and didn’t really say ‘we won’t do this’ or ‘didn’t want to do that.’ Ron and I worked together a lot of times before the APA, so we’d wrestle each other a ton. It wasn’t a matter of whether we wanted to wrestle each other, but we really didn’t want to do the angle where Ron came back for revenge and all that.”

JBL ended up getting the biggest push of his career. He captured the WWE Championship and held it for 280 days. As for Ron Simmons, he was legitimately released by WWE but has made sporadic appearances throughout the years to deliver his renowned “Damn!” line.

The 2004 split wasn’t the first time the APA was separated. In 2002, Simmons was drafted to SmackDown while JBL was sent to Raw. The two remained faces as singles stars.

Becky Lynch To Ronda Rousey: “Don’t Come Back”

0

Becky Lynch and Ronda Rousey are both former RAW Women’s Champions and also new mothers. Lynch recently spoke with TMZ and was asked if she had any advice for Ronda Rousey about returning to the ring after recently giving birth as well. Lynch’s advice was for her not to return at all.

“Don’t [come back], cause I’m still on top, Ronda, you won’t like it. That’s my advice,” Lynch said during the interview.

Lynch returned at SummerSlam this year and defeated Bianca Belair for the Smackdown women’s championship in just seconds. She also spoke to TMZ about what life has been like since her return.

“It’s been crazy, Mike. It went from zero to 100 real quick. Coming back, and coming back on top after not wrestling for a year and a half. It’s been wild, but it’s been amazing. And, my baby comes along everywhere with me.”

Lynch was also recently on the Out of Character podcast with Ryan Satin. During that discussion she said she was optimistic that a singles match between her and Ronda will happen at some point.

“Yeah, and I do think it will. The fact that I’ve had a baby and came back so great that she’ll probably want to one-up me. She’ll try to come back in three months, then I’ll be right there to punch her right in the face, give her a Rock Bottom, out of here in 20 seconds, Ronda. So long, good night.”
