Bellator competitor and mixed martial artist Cris Cyborg recently made her pro wrestling ambitions known in an interview with MMA Fighting. Since expressing her interest in stepping into the squared circle, it appears she already has a rival lined up: WWE Superstar Lacey Evans.
The two exchanged words via Twitter after Cyborg shared out her interview with a caption that called out the RAW Superstar: “2020 @LaceyEvansWWE 2020…”
Evans would respond, informing Cyborg that she was “Waitin on you sweetheart #NothingButANasty”
In her interview, Cyborg highlighted that she loves both All Elite Wrestling and WWE. She shared that she is frequently stopped in the street by fans asking when she’s finally going to have a pro wrestling match.
She added that “If the opportunity presents itself, and the deal makes sense, I would love to challenge myself with pro wrestling.”
If she did make the jump, she would join a list of notable fighters who have found success in the squared circle.
Ken Shamrock, Matt Riddle, Josh Barnett, and of course former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and former UFC Bantamweight Champion ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey are all examples of fighters who have crossed over.
Cyborg ended the interview by stressing that her focus at this time is in becoming the only champion in MMA to win all four major world titles in the same weight class.
