Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s Dynamite:

4Cody Will Never Get Another Shot At The AEW Championship If He Loses At Full Gear

Cody came down to the ring to make a “career announcement” before his title match against AEW Champion Chris Jericho this Saturday night at Full Gear. Tony Schiavone joined Cody in the ring and stated that Cody has an announcement that is weighing heavily on him.

Cody listed off some legends, including his father Dusty Rhodes which quickly prompted a loud “Dusty!” chant. Cody said that those men were great wrestlers but were surrounded with controversy because they were also management. He said that he cannot ignore the criticism that he is management and also in a title match.

The crowd interrupted with a “you deserve it!” chant and Cody stood in silence. Cody announced that if he does not defeat Chris Jericho at Full Gear, he will never challenge for the AEW Championship against. Cody joked that Chris Jericho’s best selling book being only $3 on Amazon.

Cody pointed out that Jericho called him a millennial bitch and that he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Cody noted that Jericho was the son of a famous hockey player and called him a “stupid dick”. Cody claimed that he needed this generation more than it needs him. Rhodes got fired up and said this isn’t about his dad, it is about the living (his mother, his sister, his wife) and the 14 years he has worked to go from undesirable to undeniable.

Cody cut an unbelievable promo tonight that you need to see if you missed it. It was easily one of the best promos I’ve seen in some time in any promotion.
