6Brian Pillman Jr. Advances To Opera Cup Semi-Finals
In the night’s main event, Brian Pillman Jr. took on TJP in an Opera Cup opening round match. The Opera Cup trophy was on display during tournament matches on Fusion last night, the first time it has been up for grabs since Stu Hart won it in 1948.
TJP seemed to have the majority of control in this match early with Pillman only able to gain the offensive for short periods. Pillman would hit a super-kick which would turn the tide of the match, however, and then land a strong knee to the face on his opponent. He then hit his swinging neck breaker finish for the win. It’s a big win over an established veteran for the 26-year-old Pillman who moves on to the semi-finals of the tournament.
