Rumors of CM Punk joining the Undisputed Era as its fifth member were quickly shot down by Adam Cole before the baseless rumor could get any more traction.

Appearing for an interview for the Sports Illustrated, Cole was asked about WWE Backstage where Punk made his surprise return. Punk has had a major influence on Cole, so he was more than happy to see someone he looks up to return on Backstage.

For those who don’t know, Cole was a guest on WWE Backstage a few weeks ago when Punk made his surprise return to the WWE.

He, however, shot down the rumors of Punk joining Undisputed Era by saying that their team is perfect and he wouldn’t add anyone, not even CM Punk into the mix. NXT North American Champion Roderick Strong, NXT Tag Team Champions Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish and NXT Champion Adam Cole himself couldn’t get any better.

“The Undisputed Era, the four that we are, couldn’t get any better,” Cole said when asked. He added, “We’re the flag-bearers of the NXT brand, and we are perfect the way we are. I wouldn’t add a male, I wouldn’t add a female, and we won’t add CM Punk.”
