AEW Dynamite Results (9/16): Parking Lot Fight, Jon Moxley & Lance Archer

There Will Be A Big 6-Man Tag Match Next Week

Jake Roberts and Lance Archer marched down to the ring. Roberts stated that they need tag team partners for the 6-man tag match against Moxley and his tag partners. Jake asked Taz to come to the ring and he did. Taz stated that everyone in “Team Taz” is excited to do business with Roberts and Archer. Taz said that the trio of Archer, Brian Cage, and Ricky Starts is deadly.

He added that they have a deal that if Lance Archer wins the AEW Championship he will give Brian Cage the first title shot. Archer grabbed the microphone and vowed to win the title. Lance added that he doesn’t care about Eddie Kingston complaining about not getting eliminated in the Battle Royal and that the Monster & the Machine are going to go Godzilla on Daily’s Place. AEW Champion Jon Moxley ended through the crowd but got attacked from behind by Cage and Starks. Will Hobbs hit Cage and Starks with a steel chair and sent them on the run. Jon Moxley said Will Hobbs and Darby Allin will be his partners next week.

Best Friends faced Santana & Ortiz in a Parking Lot Fight in this week’s main event.

Match Recap: Santana and Ortiz traded punches with Trent and Chuck Taylor to start things off. Trent slammed Ortiz on top of a car as Santana hit Trent with a chop to the chest. Trent trapped Ortiz under a hood of the car and slammed it on him several times. Taylor hopped on top of the car and hit Ortiz with a Senton and Trent followed it up with a Senton of his own.

Best Friends set up a sheet of plywood across the bed of a truck. Santana grabbed a baton and hit Chuck in the midsection. Santana hit Trent with the baton and catapulted Trent into a the door on the bed of the truck. Ortiz launched a sledgehammer at Chuck but he got out of the way and it crashed through the windshield of a car.

Orton planted Trent with a Suplex on top of the car and Santana followed it up with a Splash. Trent hit Ortiz with a Spear that sent him through a door. Santana bounced Chuck’s head off the car but Chuck battled back with a slam. Ortiz hit Trent over the head with a dustpan as Chuck grabbed a steel barricade.

Chuck set the barricade up against a car and traded punches with Ortiz. Chuck Suplexed Ortiz onto the barricade as Santana broke a piece of wood across Trent’s back. Ortiz hit Trent with a low blow and followed it up with a Powerbomb on top of a car. Santana and Ortiz then Powerbombed Trent through the windshield and glass flew everywhere.

Taylor choked Santana with a baseball bat and then hit Ortiz with a piece of wood. Santana hit Chuck with a Back Body Drop on top of the dumpsters as the blood poured from Trent’s back. Santana told Chuck “this is the biggest mistake of your f***ing life” and unloaded several punches to the face. Santana grabbed a pipe but Orange Cassidy popped out of the trunk with a steel chain on his fist.

Cassidy knocked out Santana with the Orange Punch and carried Santana to Chuck. Taylor hit a Piledriver on top of the car as Trent slammed Ortiz through the plywood on the truck for the pinfall victory. Trent’s mom Sue pulled up in the minivan and Best Friends hopped inside. Sue then gave the finger out the minivan window to end the show.

Opinion: I thought that this match was fun as hell and had several awesome moments. Sue giving the finger to end the show was absolutely perfect and hilarious. Overall, I enjoyed everything on this week’s Dynamite and the show absolutely flew by.
