2 Cold Scorpio will wrestle for the first time in a year on August 29, six weeks before he is due in a Kansas City courtroom to be sentenced on two felony charges.
SVN Wrestling announced the booking on Instagram, billing the 60-year-old Charles Scaggs against MASADA at the LA Church in Los Angeles as a first-time meeting between two veterans. It is his debut for the promotion.
Scaggs pleaded guilty on August 3 to second-degree assault and armed criminal action, resolving a case that had been set to go to a jury that same morning. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 9 at 3 p.m. local time, which places the SVN match in the window between his plea and his punishment.
What Scaggs Pleaded To
He was originally charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action following a June 2024 stabbing at a Love’s Travel Stop in Kansas City, where he worked as a security guard. The plea agreement reduced the assault count to second degree.
Scaggs told police he asked a customer to put out a cigarette inside the store around 3:40 a.m., that the man threatened him, and that the confrontation moved outside, where he pulled a knife and stabbed the man in self-defense. The man told investigators at the hospital that Scaggs had been the aggressor. Officers found him with multiple stab wounds and drifting in and out of consciousness.
The trial was pushed back three times, from June 2025 to November 2025 to January 2026, before the August plea ended it.
His First Match Since Last August
Scaggs kept working after his arrest, though sparingly, with roughly seven matches in two years. His last documented bout came on August 14, 2025, at a GCW and Juggalo Championship Wrestling show, where he teamed with Masha Slamovich and The Great Sasuke.
The case cost him work overseas. DDT Pro removed him from a Korakuen Hall date and two Shinjuku FACE shows in August 2024, citing his legal situation in the United States.
Members of the old ECW locker room backed him publicly, including Tod Gordon, Bill Alfonso and The Sandman, who retired from wrestling in April, with several taking part in fundraising for his legal costs.
SVN, short for Severe Violent Nature, is a deathmatch promotion, though no stipulation has been announced for the match. MASADA is a former CZW World Heavyweight Champion and a three-time Tournament of Death winner who held SVN’s Ultra-Violent Championship as recently as last year.
