Shinsuke Nakamura is back on WWE television, and he says he is bringing someone with him.
WWE aired a video package on Friday’s SmackDown from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, Nakamura’s first appearance in months. He aimed the whole thing at the MFTs.
Nakamura told the group they think they have evolved, that they have a new leader but they also have old enemies, and that they need to remember who he is. He called himself the King of Strong Style and said he was starting a war.
The line everyone will pull is the one about the odds. Nakamura said he is back and this time he will not be alone, that he is no longer a one man army, and that they will find out who the warriors are and who the pawns are.
He did not say who is coming with him. That is the hook.
The MFTs are led by Tama Tonga and include Talla Tonga, which gives Nakamura an obvious reason to want numbers. It also gives WWE room to bring in a name nobody is expecting.
Nakamura has been absent since June, when he lost a King of the Ring first-round fatal four-way to Cody Rhodes on SmackDown. His last significant run cooled off after a series of mid-card feuds, and there had been speculation his contract might not be renewed.
