WWE has a plan for the next two months of its World Heavyweight Championship and its champion, Roman Reigns.
WrestleVotes, reporting on Fightful Select, says a match between Roman Reigns and LA Knight is on the table, with what sources describe as a strong internal sense that it lands at Money in the Bank on October 10 in New Orleans.
The groundwork is on television already. Knight pinned Jey Uso in a six-man tag at SummerSlam Night 1 alongside Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys, then confronted Reigns on the RAW that followed and asked for the title without The Bloodline involved. Reigns told him to get to the back of the line. The two met at Crown Jewel in 2023, where interference decided it.
Penta tipped for the Mexico City shot
Reigns has a stop before that. The winner of the eight-man luchador tournament faces him for the title on the September 14 RAW from Mexico City, and WrestleVotes was told by a talent that the backstage feeling is that Penta takes it.
One source framed the tournament as an opening in the Mexican market and Penta as the right man to capitalise on it regardless of who else is in the field. Penta opened against Laredo Kid on the August 10 RAW, with Psycho Clown vs. La Parka, Dragon Lee vs. El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Rey Fenix vs. El Fiscal completing the first round.
