Royce Keys picked his own group, and he says it has nothing to do with family.
Bronco Nima and Lucien Price of OTM have been called up from NXT permanently and now stand alongside Keys as 946. False Finish reports that Keys hand-picked both men and will be the sole leader, and that while another member could be added later, the group is Keys and OTM for now.
The name belongs to Nima. Every standard Oakland ZIP code starts with 946, and Nima is from the area. WWE filed a trademark on the term with the patent office on August 28.
Keys revealed it in a digital exclusive released Friday evening, and the framing was pointed.

The group has moved quickly. Keys returned on the August 24 Raw after Jacob Fatu took him out following their No Holds Barred main event earlier in the month, and he brought Nima and Price with him. The three closed the show by wiping out The Usos, LA Knight and Solo Sikoa.
They went again a week later. Keys, Nima and Price jumped Jimmy and Jey Uso in the parking lot on the August 31 Raw and left both men bleeding, then attacked Solo Sikoa backstage. That segment became a story in itself after Netflix pixelated the blood and cut the video feed, with Triple H posting the unedited version the following day.
The family line lands where it is aimed. Fatu was forced back into the Bloodline after losing to Roman Reigns at Clash in Italy, and it was Fatu who wrote Keys off television in the first place.
