Bayley's Video With AEW References Did Not Go Over Well Backstage In WWE

Bayley’s training video got noticed inside WWE, and not everyone enjoyed it.

WrestleVotes, reporting on Fightful Select, has no substantial update on her contract situation, which remains unsigned. What they do have is a read on how Sunday’s Instagram post went down internally. It did not land well with everyone, and some backstage viewed it as eyebrow-raising.

The post was a highlight reel of Bayley training at various locations with various wrestlers, among them AEW’s Mercedes Moné. She captioned it “all or nothing, baby” and set it to a track called “All In” by The Grouch & Eligh.

Read one way, that is a woman without a contract posting footage of herself working out with an AEW star, soundtracked to the name of AEW’s biggest show, three weeks before AEW runs it at Wembley. Read another way, it is Bayley enjoying the fact that everyone is watching. She has not clarified which, and the report does not say anyone asked her.

Bayley has not signed a new deal, and Fightful has reported her contract is expected to lapse by the end of the year unless injury time is added. Dave Meltzer said last month that the only thing he had been told was that she has a big decision to make.

On-screen, she already has an exit built. Lyra Valkyria choked her out at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18 at Madison Square Garden and then put her through the steel steps, and said on the following RAW that she had run Bayley out of the company. Bayley has not been on television since and was quietly pulled from a SummerSlam weekend meet-and-greet.

AEW runs All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30.
