Brie Bella has been dealing with more than just the injury that currently has her away from the ring, as another recent health scare has brought renewed attention to what she has been experiencing.
Bella is currently recovering from a scapula injury suffered at SummerSlam, but she has also been dealing with health issues off late. After a recent medical emergency that resulted in her being hospitalized following a serious bathroom incident after dinner, Brie has now opened up about what is happening with her gut.
Following that incident, Brie decided to get more serious about the condition of her health during the latest episode of The Nikki & Brie Show.
On this show, I’ve been very open with my gut health journey. It’s crazy because I’ll make jokes here and there like shitting my pants in an ambulance and all of the different things, but when it comes down to it, its how serious the condition of my gut.
Brie explained that despite several other areas of her health looking strong, recent testing showed that her gut condition had actually worsened, prompting doctors to send her to a specialist.
When Paige reached out to me after she talked to you, what was so crazy is that I had just gotten back my tests and my gut declined. They’re like, ‘Your thyroid looks amazing, your liver looks incredible.’ Even when we’re looking at all of your levels, this is a healthy woman but for some reason, your gut was at a seven and now it’s at a ten, so we have to go see a specialist. I have to see a specialist next week and I’m like, what is going on with my gut?
There is also a potentially more serious possibility being investigated, with Brie revealing that doctors have raised the prospect of an autoimmune condition affecting her digestive system.
The only thing that they brought up to me is that I might have an autoimmune disease that hits the gut.
At this point, Brie has not confirmed a diagnosis and is awaiting further evaluation.
We wish Brie all the best as she continues searching for answers and receiving the care she needs.
