Brie Bella Sent To Hospital After Scary Medical Emergency

Brie Bella says the pain medication she was taking for her broken scapula caused a medical emergency serious enough that Bryan Danielson called 911.

Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, Bella said the drugs left her severely constipated, a common side effect she had not anticipated. She went more than a week without being able to use the bathroom before the situation turned.

She described sudden intense stomach pain, then feeling herself about to pass out. She called for Danielson, her husband, who found her losing consciousness.

Sure enough, I’m like, timber.

Danielson and the family’s nanny carried her to bed. When they could not properly rouse her, he called 911 while their children were in the house. Bella said she began to come round in the ambulance and that’s when she realized she started to lose control of her bowels in the middle of the situation.

She described the episode as one of the most humiliating experiences she has been through, and said the paramedics told her she had nothing to apologize for. Brie is now recovering.

Bella, 42, broke her scapula in the six-woman tag match at SummerSlam Night 1 on August 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, when Jacy Jayne hit her with a cannonball into the ringside steel steps. She finished the match, was taken to the hospital afterward, and later revealed the bone was fractured in two or three places.

She has not needed an operation. Her orthopedic surgeon told her scapula fractures are rarely operated on and are generally left to heal, with X-rays every two weeks to monitor progress. She has been given a recovery window of three to six months.

The match ended with Bella and her sister Nikki turning on Paige.
