Brooke Hogan says Clearwater Police missed the mark in their investigation into her father’s death, criticizing the department for not immediately treating Hulk Hogan’s passing as a thorough, locked-down investigation from the start.
Police in Clearwater, Florida announced last week that they have concluded their death investigation and found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing after reviewing statements, medical records, surveillance footage from Hogan’s home, and conducting a visual inspection of his body.
Brooke told TMZ she is not satisfied with that conclusion.
There’s been a lot of inconsistencies from the BEGINNING. I think CWPD missed the mark by not IMMEDIATELY making this a big investigation and not questioning everything and everybody out the gate. This should have been treated as a taped off, locked down, thorough investigation from day one.
Among the specific issues Brooke raised was that she was told at one point there were no blood samples available, only to later hear investigators found nothing suspicious in his blood. Police records released publicly contain redactions related to prescriptions Hogan was taking for pain and sleep that Brooke says do not appear in the toxicology findings. She also questioned why Hogan’s death certificate was signed by his personal physician rather than someone from the medical examiner’s office.
Brooke has also questioned why the medical examiner did not perform an autopsy at the time of death. A private autopsy was later commissioned by others in Hogan’s family, but the results were not shared with Brooke. She told TMZ she was treated like an outsider throughout the process and that police thanking her for her cooperation felt like a “slap in the face.”
Hulk Hogan died on July 24, 2025, at age 71, following complications from neck fusion surgery. His cause of death was a heart attack, with medical records indicating a prior history of leukemia.
