Chelsea Green: ‘I Have My Face Mask Ready To Go That Can Protect My Orbital Bone’

ByAndrew RavensProfessional Wrestling Journalist

Chelsea Green has her protective mask ready, and she has decorated it.

Green broke her orbital bone on the August 7 SmackDown, five days after winning the Interim WWE Women’s Championship in a ladder match at SummerSlam. WWE opted not to strip her or write her off television, and she is expected to defend the title once cleared, wearing a mask.

She told ETalk the mask is done.

I have my face mask ready to go that can protect my orbital bone. So if someone comes at me for this title, know that I am prepared. Would you expect any less from me? I bedazzled the entire thing. I’ve got eye patches ready to go as well that match my outfits, depending on what I wear.

WWE Women's Champ Chelsea Green calls out Rhea Ripley | Interview

She has already been active without wrestling. On Friday’s SmackDown in Toronto, Green ran in with a kendo stick to break up an attack on Tiffany Stratton by Nia Jax and Lash Legend, clearing both out of the ring. Blake Monroe also called her out during the show.

Green has said she needs time to heal from what she described as head trauma. WrestleVotes reported that WWE has been encouraged by the response to her title win and has no interest in interrupting it.

The interim title exists because Rhea Ripley is out due to surgery for a torn meniscus.
