Chelsea Green climbed the ladder past Tiffany Stratton. Then she called her possibly the best the Performance Center has ever produced.
Green won the five-way ladder match on Night 2 of SummerSlam to become the first Interim WWE Women’s Champion, beating Stratton, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill and Lash Legend. The interim title exists because Rhea Ripley is out with a meniscus injury.
Green sat down with Sam Roberts for WWE Now afterward and ran through the field. Stratton got the biggest compliment.
Tiffany Stratton, who has been, I mean, quite possibly the greatest women’s wrestler to come out of the PC. Like, for real.
It is a heavy claim with Flair in the same match. The Queen is a 14-time women’s champion who came up through the same system, as did Ripley and Bianca Belair.
Stratton has a case anyway. WWE announced her as the only woman in its August 2021 Performance Center recruit class. She won the NXT Women’s Championship, took the Slammy for NXT Superstar of the Year, cashed in Money in the Bank on Nia Jax for the WWE Women’s Championship, and currently holds the Women’s United States Championship after beating Giulia in April.
