CM Punk is out of the title picture for now, but he is not expected to be off the Money in the Bank card.
JoeyVotes of WrestleVotes was asked about Punk’s plans during a recent Q&A. He did not have details, but he did have an answer.
Probably Punk. Punk’s advertised to be there. Punk, I’ve heard is working the Money in the Bank card.
Punk still has to get there. He faces Gunther and Finn Bálor in a triple threat qualifier on Friday’s SmackDown, with the winner going into the Money in the Bank ladder match.
It is a busy stretch. Punk is also advertised for Worlds Collide the next night at Allstate Arena, teaming with Rey Mysterio and El Grande Americano against Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh and Omos.
He lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Sami Zayn on the September 11 SmackDown in Mexico City. Kevin Owens accidentally hit Punk with the belt, and Zayn finished him with a Helluva Kick. Punk had taken the title from Zayn on the July 6 Raw in Chicago.
A briefcase would give Punk a guaranteed way back to a world title.
