CM Punk drew a sharp line between his wrestling philosophy and Roman Reigns' approach ahead of their WrestleMania 42 main event showdown, describing the matchup as a clash between cinema and raw pro wrestling.
Speaking on the Ross Tucker Football Podcast, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion broke down exactly how he sees the contrast between himself and The Tribal Chief.
Roman likes to do cinema. I like to do pro wrestling. I like to get dirty. I like bloody, gnarly fights. I like punching people in the face," Punk said. "I'm the guy that sticks the toothpaste back in the tube where everybody thinks they know what's going on. Behind the scenes, I'm the guy that blurs the line.

Punk's Competitive Edge: Elevating Opponents
Punk went further, claiming that his presence forces opponents to raise their game, on the mic and in the ring. It's a view he's carried throughout his career, from his greatest WWE matches to his most recent battles.
When I am across from a guy like Roman Reigns, I like to think I bring the best out of them," Punk continued. "When I'm in the ring with people, they know they got to step up. When I have a microphone in my hand, they know they got to come correct and they got to match that energy.
It's a sentiment Punk has echoed in other recent interviews, describing the WrestleMania match as a measuring contest between two of the industry's biggest stars.
Back-to-Back WrestleMania Main Events
Punk confirmed that headlining WrestleMania for a second consecutive year remains a surreal milestone.
We did [Las Vegas] last year. Main event last year. Bringing it back, doing it again back to back," he said.
Last year at WrestleMania 41, Punk competed in a triple threat against Reigns and Seth Rollins. This time, it will be one-on-one, their first singles match since a January 2014 episode of Raw.
Let the crowd boo or cheer or do whatever they want. I just know it's going to be loud and it's going to be a show," Punk said.
WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18-19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, with Punk vs. Reigns confirmed as the Night 2 main event.
