CM Punk’s SmackDown Mask Was A Tribute To Larry

The goalie mask CM Punk wore to the ring in Toronto featured his late dog.

Punk made his entrance at the Scotiabank Arena on Friday’s SmackDown in an old-school hockey mask, styled after Jason Voorhees, with his own logo on one side. Special effects artist Jason Baker, who built it, explained what else was on there.

Best in the world inspired Goalie mask for the Coach @CMPunk created by me. And yes, those are Larry the dog’s actual paw prints on the side. Jacket and gear by @byJolene.

Larry died in November 2024. Punk debuted a chest tattoo honoring him around SummerSlam this month, and has since added a red tattoo to the side of his neck that he has not explained.

Baker has a long history with WWE. He designed the mask Bray Wyatt wore as The Fiend, along with Alexa Bliss’s Lilly doll, Naomi’s Money in the Bank briefcase, and Finn Bálor’s Demonito puppet.

Punk kept the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event, beating Kevin Owens in front of a crowd that booed him throughout and backed the Canadian. The finish involved a referee bump and Sami Zayn, who slid the title into the ring for Owens to use. Owens refused, so Zayn hit him with it instead. Punk followed with a GTS for the pin, then took a belt shot from Zayn himself after the bell.
