Cody Rhodes Calls Out WWE Stars Who Leave Shows Early

Cody Rhodes Podcast

Cody Rhodes called out WWE superstars who leave shows early, connecting the practice to why certain wrestlers repeatedly get featured on major events like WrestleMania.

Speaking to Matt Cardona on What Do You Want To Talk About?, the current WWE Champion praised Cardona for staying through entire shows while criticizing those who don't.

The other day, I watched....they walk right by me. Where are you going? What if someone gets hurt? I'm almost not mad at you leaving early. You're blatantly doing it. Bags by Gorilla while the last two matches go in, that's a classic. I get that. 'I'm still here, but I won't be.' Just right in front of me? Then you ask, 'Why are the same guys on WrestleMania?' I'll tell you why. That's part of it," Rhodes said.

Rhodes did not name specific wrestlers but made clear he witnessed the behavior firsthand. He referenced the common practice of wrestlers positioning their bags near the Gorilla Position (the backstage area where talent enters and exits) before the final matches of the night.

Part of WrestleMania Success Formula

The WWE Champion directly linked staying for entire shows to earning spots on WWE's biggest events. His comments suggest that dedication to the full product and being available to help other talent when needed factors into creative decisions for major pay-per-views.

Rhodes' criticism echoes similar sentiments from other top WWE stars. Bayley previously expressed frustration with talent who leave shows early, saying the practice "blows her mind."
