Cody Rhodes Confirms He’s Re-Signed With WWE

Cody Rhodes has put pen to paper on a new WWE deal, and he may have let the news slip before he was supposed to.

Appearing on the Flagrant podcast, Rhodes was discussing how his thinking on retirement has evolved, pointing to Bobby Roode and Michael Hayes as examples of veterans who transitioned into behind-the-scenes roles rather than walking away from the business entirely. Watching them, he said, made him realize he doesn’t have to view leaving the ring as leaving wrestling altogether.

That train of thought led Rhodes into what sounded like an unplanned announcement. He paused mid-sentence to wonder aloud whether he was even allowed to share it, then confirmed he’d already re-signed with WWE.

When host Andrew Schulz pointed out it was his own news to break, Rhodes admitted he genuinely wasn’t sure if it had been made public yet.

So if I… potentially, forgive me if this is breaking news, and please edit it if I’m not allowed to share, which is fine. I just re-signed with WWE, so I’ll end my wrestling career…

He went on to clarify the bigger picture: his in-ring career will end with WWE, but the new arrangement gives him room to step away for outside projects.

The update builds on comments Rhodes made earlier this year, when he said he wanted his next contract to be his last. He’s now confirmed that deal is done, all but locking in WWE as the promotion where his wrestling career will come to a close.
