Cody Rhodes Drops Hint About Possible Marvel X-Men Role

Cody Rhodes has already sparked Marvel casting speculation this month, and a new interview adds more fuel.

Speaking with Maude Garrett of Nerdist during the press tour for the Street Fighter movie, Rhodes talked at length about his love for the X-Men. He said he nerds out over the franchise and over anything involving Patrick Stewart.

Cody Rhodes: “I’m an X-Men

He also described his history with the Marvel vs. Capcom games, where he would play Wolverine and Ryu.

He then made a case for Cyclops as the best member of the team. “I stand by I think Cyclops is the best,” he said. He praised Scott Summers’ leadership, pointing out that Cyclops managed to lead a team that was famously dysfunctional.

The comments land on top of the earlier speculation. Rhodes recently posted a photo from inside Marvel Studios’ Burbank offices, then followed it with an Instagram Story set to the X-Men ’97 theme.

None of it confirms a role, and fans are still guessing at which mutant he might play. Cyclops is already one of the characters his ring gear has borrowed from.

Marvel’s X-Men reboot, directed by Jake Schreier, is scheduled for release on May 5, 2028, and its cast has not been fully revealed.
