Two-time Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes recently dropped hints at a potential heel turn in the future. 'The American Nightmare' has been a babyface since his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in 2022 and has consistently served as a babyface for the promotion. However, he is not ruling out a potential villainous run in the future.
Cody Rhodes Talks About Potential Heel Turn
Speaking on the What Do You Wanna Talk About? podcast, Rhodes highlighted that he likes the challenge of being a babyface but feels turning heel might be something he could need at one point. He explained:
I feel right now, I like the challenge of being a babyface, because it seems almost impossible some nights. Because it’s easier to be cooler.
I think if we ever transition or if (being) a heel was to come back up, that might be something I could even need in my life and don’t realize it, just from the sheer, ‘Let’s go out there and have some fun.’
Cody Rhodes recently lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre in a 3 Stages of Hell Match due to interference by Jacob Fatu. He also recently qualified for the 2026 men’s WWE Elimination Chamber match. The winner of the match will earn a shot at Drew McIntyre's Undisputed WWE Championship at WrestleMania 42.
