Cody Rhodes is not doing so good.
The Undisputed WWE Champion somehow managed to hold on to the title in his match against Randy Orton that main evented Night 1 of WrestleMania 42.
The American Nightmare, however, was busted open the hard way during this bout. He couldn't celebrate much after the victory either, as The Viper took him out with a punt kick to end the night. This meant that the champion was in no condition to party after the Show of Shows.
Cody Rhodes Dealing With Graphic Injury
The company provided an update on his status during the WrestleMania post-show. They showed a video of Cody sitting at the ringside after the match being tended by medical, with his left eye swollen shut due to his nasty injury.
The camera then cut to backstage, where the doctors were seen working on Rhodes eye, though the graphic was not any better than before:
Randy Orton ended up giving an RKO to Pat McAfee when the NFL star failed to help the Viper get the victory. McAfee himself had announced that he will leave WWE if Orton failed to win the title. So it's possible that we might not see him on WWE TV anytime soon after tonight.
