Corey Graves has not wrestled in over a decade. He is not ruling it out.
Graves retired in 2014 after a run of concussions and moved to the announce desk. He was medically cleared years later and won the 24/7 Title in 2021, but has never had a proper in-ring return. Speaking to Mark Hoke, he said he has been quietly preparing.
I did go and get medically cleared several years back when it seemed like there was going to be an opportunity. Obviously, plans change as things change in the industry. I got a little stagnant after that, but I’m proud to report that I’ve been back in the gym for the past several months just to see how I feel.
He has a destination in mind.
AAA might be fun for me to step foot into that. My younger brother had a great deal of success in AAA over the years. Maybe I’ll follow in his footsteps. That could be kind of fun. Never say never.
Graves calls both Raw and AAA. WWE bought the Mexican promotion in April 2025 and has pushed it hard since, with Nick Khan saying this week that putting it on YouTube outside Mexico has driven significant audience growth. Triplemania 34 runs across two nights this weekend, in Las Vegas on Friday and Mexico City on Sunday.
His brother’s position there is more complicated. Sam Adonis made his name in CMLL as a pro-Trump villain before becoming a regular on AAA cards, including several Triplemanias. He has not appeared on AAA programming since WWE completed the purchase.
Adonis also posted this week that being known as Corey’s brother has done more damage to his career than anything else, saying he has been reduced to Corey’s brother in Mexico despite what he has built worldwide.
