Darby Allin is heading back to the independent scene for the first time in roughly nine months. Fresh off losing the AEW World Championship to MJF at Double or Nothing, Allin will compete in a No Disqualification match against Kiran Grey at 1FW Summer Stage 2 on Friday, July 17.
1 Fall Wrestling announced the booking, which marks Allin’s first match for the promotion and his first independent date since October 2025. The match goes down at Center Stage.
The grudge has a history. Allin made a surprise appearance at 1FW in May, taking out Grey and setting up this No DQ showdown.
The announcement came via 1FW (via X/@1FWrestling), who billed Allin as “one of professional wrestling’s most fearless competitors” stepping in against “the dangerous Kiran Grey.”
Darby Allin’s Indie Date Comes At A Notable Time
The timing makes this booking stand out. Allin is a former AEW World Champion who lost the title to MJF at AEW Double or Nothing, and his title reign earned widespread praise before it ended.
Tony Khan himself called Allin’s run one of the best, underlining how central the wrestler remains to AEW even as he takes this rare outside booking.
After dropping the championship, Allin was taken out by Kevin Knight in the post-match. He has since returned to TV to go after Knight at AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster.
