Cody Rhodes Receives Threat For Disco Inferno Jab On SmackDown

Former WCW star Disco Inferno recently responded to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes with a threat. This comes after 'The American Nightmare' namedropped Inferno during the April 3rd edition of SmackDown.

After being brutally assaulted by a returning Pat McAfee and Randy Orton, Rhodes returned to SmackDown later in the night. He delivered an intense promo mocking the revelation of McAfee as Orton's mystery caller. He compared it to one of wrestling's most famous moments.

We all got dressed up to find out who it was that Randy was talking to on the phone. Then it was Pat McAfee. That is the same as the third member of the nWo not being Hulk Hogan, but Disco Inferno," Rhodes said.

Disco Inferno Responds With Threat

Disco Inferno responded on social media with a message directed at Rhodes.

If I catch @CodyRhodes on Old canton Rd when I go back to visit my mom, that boy might get a good ol' fashioned Marietta tushy kickin'," Disco wrote.

Long-Running Feud Between Rhodes and Disco

The aggressive tone caught attention immediately, but the tension between the two didn't start here. Cody Rhodes previously blasted Disco Inferno on social media in response to criticism about modern wrestling.

That past exchange shows the tension between the two isn't new, which helps explain why Disco responded so strongly after being referenced on SmackDown.
