El Grande Americano’s autographed, ring-worn mask raised over $50,000 for charity through a WWE auction run with Fanatics, with every cent of net proceeds going to the Dr. Sonrisas Foundation, an organization that supports children battling life-threatening health conditions.
The mask was worn by El Grande Americano, widely known to be Ludwig Kaiser in disguise, during his Mask vs. Mask match against the original El Grande Americano at AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30, 2026, at Arena Monterrey, Mexico. The original holder of the gimmick was forced to unmask after the loss, revealing himself as Chad Gable.
El Grande Americano celebrated the result on social media, thanking bidders and Fanatics while teasing a personal handover of the funds. The final auction price was $50,035.
“What an incredible result! Thank you so much for every single bid and to Fanatics. Stay tuned as we share the special handover to Dr. Sonrisas and the children,” wrote El Grande Americano (Ludwig Kaiser) on Instagram.
Mask vs. Mask Match That Produced The Auction Item

The autographed item is the same mask El Grande Americano wore in the high-stakes bout that ended with Gable losing his hood. That finish, and the reaction to it, drew praise from across the wrestling world, as covered in one WWE veteran’s tribute to Chad Gable after the Mask vs. Mask match.
WWE and Fanatics partnered to put the mask up for bid, with the promotion confirming all net proceeds would benefit the Dr. Sonrisas Foundation. The charity is dedicated to helping children facing serious health conditions.
Kaiser has stayed in the headlines beyond his masked alter ego, recently sparking dating rumors after being spotted with a WWE host. For now, the focus is on the charity effort and the promised handover to the foundation and the children it serves.
