Elton Prince has revealed that he recently underwent neck surgery following an injury he suffered back in May.
The Pretty Deadly star has been absent from WWE programming since June, when commentary on SmackDown confirmed he was dealing with an injury. Now, Prince has shared the full details of what happened and the road he's been on since.
In a heartfelt
post, Prince explained that he took a bad landing in the ring during May, with the top of his head hitting the mat. He described the sensation as "burning hot electricity" that exploded through his neck and arms, causing him to temporarily lose control of his hands as his fingers curled in and became stuck. It was pretty terrifying and what followed has been 7 months of tests, questions and well pain," Prince wrote. "But thanks to the efforts of the WWE medical staff and Dr Kanter, Gina and the Hoag team we found the problem and yesterday I successfully underwent a 2 level neck fusion.
The 28-year-old acknowledged that this isn't where he hoped to be at this stage in his career, but expressed gratitude for the support he's received.
I want to thank everybody who has messaged or commented to ask how and where I am," he continued. "It's been nice to not feel forgotten and I will try my hardest to overcome all the obstacles and get back in the ring for you.
Prince also thanked his wife, Kelly Kincaid, who works as a WWE backstage interviewer, for her support during his recovery. He noted that his current focus is on getting healthy and being the best dad he can be for their daughter.
Kit Wilson Shares Emotional Message
Prince's tag team partner Kit Wilson also shared a message on X, offering insight into just how difficult the journey has been for his partner.
"Elton is a very private person, so he would never fully tell people just how hard this journey has been for him," Wilson wrote. "The amount of pain, struggle, and hardship he's pushed through just to get to the point of having this surgery has been nothing short of admirable."

Wilson revealed that Prince was injured in the middle of a match and took another move that cut him open badly while trying to figure out what was wrong. Despite Wilson screaming at him to tag out so he could get medical help, Prince was determined to stay in the ring and finish the match.
The emotional post also touched on their bond, with Wilson explaining that they became best friends and tag partners on the independents before signing their WWE contracts, moving across the world together, and growing up side by side.
"We always talked about being a tag team for life, no matter what," Wilson wrote. "So for him to suffer a career-threatening injury was, and still is, devastating."
Wilson confirmed that everything he does now as a singles competitor is with the hope that one day they can be Pretty Deadly again, but noted that isn't the priority right now.
"Right now, I'm just grateful that Elton has finally had his surgery and is on the road to recovery, so he can be the best partner and the best father he can be," Wilson concluded, signing off with "Love you, Lewis."
We wish Elton Prince a full and speedy recovery.
