WWE has already expanded WrestleMania and SummerSlam across two nights, and Eric Bischoff believes the Royal Rumble could be the perfect premium live event to follow the same path.

Recent reports have suggested WWE has seriously considered turning the Royal Rumble 2027 into a two-night event. While nothing has been officially announced, the possibility has already sparked debate among fans over whether another major WWE weekend needs to get even bigger.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff came down firmly in favor of the idea, arguing that the Royal Rumble’s existing format makes it particularly well suited to being split across two shows.

Eric Bischoff Likes The Two-Night Royal Rumble Idea

Eric Bischoff said he believes turning the WWE Royal Rumble into a two-night event is a great idea, dismissing some of the expected criticism as the kind of negative online wrestling chatter that will exist regardless of what WWE does.

I think it’s a great idea. It’s easy to go, ‘Yeah, but there’s too many commercials I don’t enjoy.’ You’re going to have that low-level anti-WWE internet wrestling chatter perspective. It’s always going to be there.

Bischoff argued that fans attending major WWE events are no longer traveling solely for a single premium live event. Instead, WWE has created an entire weekend experience, with activities and entertainment available across multiple days.

But if you look at the weekend, if you’re a WWE fan and you choose to go to an event, you choose to go to Minneapolis, there are things to do Friday night. There are things to do Saturday. There’s obviously things to do Saturday night and Sunday night, but there’s so much going on that you’re experiencing a whole weekend. You’re not experiencing just a PLE.

WWE has locked in the Royal Rumble 2027 location, confirming the host venue for its first major premium live event of 2027.

Royal Rumble 2027 is set to be held at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. This marks the event’s return to the United States following the 2026 edition held in Saudi Arabia.
