Finn Bálor Snaps 166-Day Winless Streak

Finn Bálor picked up his first victory in over five months on Saturday night, defeating Je'Von Evans at the WWE Road to WrestleMania house show in Lubbock, Texas. The win at United Supermarkets Arena snapped a 166-day winless streak for the former Universal Champion.

Bálor's last victory came on September 1, 2025, when he defeated Dragon Lee on Monday Night Raw. Since then, he went 0-7 in televised matches over the next five-plus months, making it one of the more notable dry spells of his WWE career.

The bout with Evans was described as "an absolute banger," with both superstars delivering high-level athleticism throughout. Evans showcased his aerial abilities with multiple high-flying attempts, but Bálor ultimately secured the pinfall victory after sustained back-and-forth action.

After the bell, Bálor helped Evans to his feet and endorsed him to the audience.

Bálor Heads Into Elimination Chamber With Momentum

The timing of the win is notable, as Bálor is currently in the midst of a major storyline heading into WWE Elimination Chamber on February 28, where he is scheduled to challenge CM Punk (c) for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Bálor earned the title shot after a competitive match against Punk on Raw in Belfast, which ended with Punk raising Bálor's arm in a show of respect. Now with a win under his belt and momentum on his side, Bálor heads to Chicago looking to capture the World Heavyweight Championship for the first time.
