Last month saw Brock Lesnar announce his official retirement from in-ring competition, just days after he and Oba Femi collided inside Hell in a Cell at SummerSlam. He left the wrestling space as a multi-time world champion, a two-time Royal Rumble winner, a WrestleMania main-eventer, and a powerful force known as “The Beast Incarnate.”
For those reasons, and much more, former WWE star Dexter Lumis wishes he had the opportunity to wrestle Lesnar before his retirement.
Who’s more intimidating in the wrestling business that’s still somewhat active? I know he just retired, but when that guy comes out to the ring, everybody’s just floored,” Lumis told Insight With Chris Van Vliet when asked why Lesnar was his dream opponent.
There is a presence, and if he likes you, and you have a good match with him, and you show him that you can carry the ball. I feel like that’s the standard. That’s the guy. You should want your career to be like his. To get the limited schedule, to get the money, to get the notoriety, to be a badass, to be legit, but also to be so giving. I’ve had conversations with Brock, and he might just be like oh, I don’t remember that kid. But I feel like I was right there, and I respect the hell out of him.
Lumis, a former WWE Tag Team Champion, exited the company alongside the other Wyatt Sicks members earlier this year, putting his second WWE run to an end at just under four years.
He and Lesnar never crossed paths in the ring, though Lumis did compete on night two of WWE SummerSlam 2025, the same night in which Lesnar marked his on-screen return by delivering an F5 to John Cena.
