The Good Brothers were not given the option that some of their peers got.
Sheamus and the men now working as The New Level have both said WWE offered them a chance to stay on reduced money before they left. Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson say no such conversation happened with them, and they talked about it on their podcast, Talk’n Shop.
They could have offered us a pay cut. I mean, that would have been kind.
Anderson asked whether they would have taken it. Gallows was not sure that was the point.
Doesn’t matter. It would have been nice if we had been offered it, though.
They said no at first, then reconsidered within about a minute.
Okay. We would have accepted the pay cut.
Gallows agreed that he probably would have. Their last WWE television match was a loss to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger on NXT last September, which is a long way from where the run started. Most of their work this year has been with Noah in Japan, alongside regular dates for Maple Leaf Pro and Major League Wrestling.
WWE has moved on from a number of veterans in recent months, and Kofi and Austin Creed went from that group to the AEW World Trios Championship three days into their run with the company.
