Next Monday, Joe Hendry’s new album, titled “Beyond Belief,” will hit music platforms around the world.
The project, consisting of 11 new tracks, was announced earlier this year, with the former NXT Champion recording it in collaboration with the WWE Music Group. According to Hendry, WWE’s Head of Music Neil Lawi played an incredibly pivotal role in bringing his album the life.
There was a period of time where I was on NXT, and I thought I was getting called up to SmackDown,” Hendry recalled on Insight With Chris Van Vliet. “So I went up to it, but I didn’t know. I remember it was when I did the song at Christmas about the Miz, and I went up to SmackDown. I remember Becky Lynch asked me, ‘Are you up now?’ I was like, ‘I think so?’ ‘It turns out I wasn’t, but I thought I was at that time.
I remember it was Neil, who is the head of WWE Music, said to me, ‘Hey, we want to put out this single, the audio of your live performance from SmackDown.’ I was thinking maybe if we recorded it professionally rather than using live audio, it might be a better way to do that,” he continued. “And he was like, ‘All right, cool. Well, yeah, let’s record it.’ Then he was like, ‘What if we did an EP?’
At that time, Hendry already had two songs in his back pocket and planned to write a few more to round out an EP. After further consideration, though, he and Lawi agreed to elevate the music project to a full-length album.
Hendy noted that the majority of the album’s songs came together in a mere three or four days. This includes “Give Joe Hendry Every Single Belt,” “Highland Cows,” “Tables, Ladders, and Chairs,” and the newly-released “If You Don’t Love Joe Hendry.”
The album, in its entirety, will drop on October 5.
