Kane Reflects On Vince McMahon Pitching The Isaac Yankem Gimmick

WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin recently had Kane join him on an episode of his WWE Network show, Broken Skull Sessions. During their exchange, Kane opened up about being approached by Vince McMahon about the infamous dentist gimmick, Isaac Yankem DDS.

Life Before Kane

Kane recalled how Vince asked him if he had ever been afraid of going to the dentist. Confused by the question, he ran through a mental checklist trying to figure out why he was being asked the question. After replying 'No,' Vince allegedly responded: "Good, because I've always wanted to do this character: Issac Yankem, a wrestling dentist. Get it, I. Yankem?'"

"And then he did the Vince laugh, first time I ever heard it. And then of course you do the Vince laugh, too, right? Because you're like, 'Oh, this is going to be great,'" Kane said. "So, I was like way up here [laughing], 'That's great...how am I going to do that?' I remember just flying back home thinking, 'How in the world am I going to pull that off?'"

Kane would portray the dentist Yankem from 1995 through to September 1996. He would eventually be repackaged as The Undertaker's brother, Kane, making his re-debut at
