The film, first reported by Deadline, is inspired by the life of Hollywood stuntman Sammy Horowitz, a former convict who reinvented himself as a pro boxer, a stunt performer, and eventually a screenwriter. Horowitz co-wrote the script and stars as the lead, playing a recently released ex-con who finds a second chance in the high-risk world of Hollywood stunt work. He soon learns that outrunning his past is the hardest job of all.

Kross, credited under his real name Kevin Robert Kesar, joins an ensemble that includes Perlman of Hellboy and Sons of Anarchy fame, Forsythe of The Devil’s Rejects, plus Kris D. Lofton, Joe Miñoso, Jon Seda, Marila Lombrozo, and Sari Sanchez. Directing is veteran cinematographer Gabriel Beristain, known for films like Blade II.

Horowitz framed the project in personal terms, calling it his Rocky story and dedicating it to the stunt community and to Chicago, where the film is shooting on location. A release date has not yet been announced.

For Kross, the casting continues a Hollywood run that has grown in step with his in-ring resurgence. Since exiting WWE following SummerSlam 2025, the two-time former NXT Champion has rebuilt himself on the independent scene, capturing the MLW World Heavyweight Championship by winning the Battle Riot VIII match on January 29. He has held the title for more than five months, remaining the centerpiece of MLW’s top division while fielding challengers at home and abroad.
