La Catalina Leaving CMLL, Reportedly Signing With AAA

La Catalina is reportedly on her way to AAA, with her debut set for this Saturday, April 11, according to a report from Luchablog.

CMLL officially confirmed her departure on April 7, noting that her contract expired on April 1 and was not renewed at her own request. The promotion issued a formal statement wishing her success and indicated no further comment would be made.

Should the move be confirmed, La Catalina would become the first talent to transfer from CMLL to AAA since WWE acquired the latter on April 19, 2025.

The two promotions have historically operated as rivals, making crossover signings a rarity even before the WWE purchase added another layer of complexity.

Catalina had previously been featured prominently in CMLL, battling Mercedes Mone at last year's Fantastica Mania. Her positioning has been less-prominent since then, which likely impacted her satisfaction.

The Chilean wrestler, whose real name is Catalina Aurora García Corrial, previously competed in WWE under the name Katrina Cortez before departing in 2021.

She joined CMLL in March 2023 and went on to win the CMLL Universal Amazons Championship. She also made multiple appearances for Ring of Honor in 2025 as part of CMLL's working relationship with AEW.

Her final CMLL match took place March 31 at Arena Coliseo.

A spot in AAA, now operating under WWE's umbrella, could significantly raise her profile heading into a pivotal stretch for the promotion.
